A Great First Read for Church History
Best Christian history text; superb research
The only thing wrong with this is that it is paperback, and not a hard bound textbook. This research is in depth and honestly seeks to see the moving of the holy spirit throughout history with a freshness I have never found in any Christian history texts. Highly suggested for any student.

A "must" read book! Definitely an inspiration!
The author shares David's life with the reader very candidly. Through the author's writing I could identify with David. David's life is CLEARLY layed out. I now see that greatness is available to me through trusting in GOD. I related David's experiences with my life. I can see how David's mishaps in life where part of his healing. Trusting and believing in GOD to deliver him through the not so great moments in his life. Every chapter inspired hope. The author shows that despite all of David's setbacks, GOD is working things out in him. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is experiencing inner battles and seeking inner and outer victories.

Comprehensive and interesting
What could I say more than what is said by the great Paul Kristeller in his flattering preface to this work? This is what, in my sense, seems specially remarkable: the authors (whose names deservs no comments)produced a very comprehensive introduction to philosophy of Renaissance, particularly sensible to the huge differences among the trends that people what covers this historical period. Avoiding the trap of encompassing all the philosophical productions homogeneously, they arrive serveral times to point to particular topics of real philosophical interest (as, for example, when pointing to the skeptical context created by the conflict of authorities rediscovered from antiquity, or when commenting about contemporary relevance of Renaissance philosophy, in the last chapter, the only one I think could may still be allonged).

Platitudes.
More platitudes. Needs more time in Comp. 101.
Good spingboard
This is a good book with the basics of how to deal with psychiatric emergencies. It is great for the psych intern just starting out, and for non-psychiatric professionals. However, at times it is a little simplistic and does not offer enough options in terms of treatments.

From the days of the early church to current times. ANd it even has a website address for updates to what's going on in the Christian church, so this book won't get outdated easily. This book covers how well the church went and why the church declined. Charles Schmitt really outlines what happened in the early church to cause the rapid decline of Christianity. This book spends a great deal of time covering many significant figures that were martyred/murdered for the gospel. Some very insightful aspects of the book are when the author describes how and why various Christian creeds were developed. There is a great deal of time spend on the explosions of the 1800's. The book traces moves of God all the way up to what is going on in places like Toronto, Pensacola, and other North American cities.
"Those ignorant of history are destined to repeat it", is an old phrase and is the reason why a book such as this should be read by Christians. Christians should be aware of why things have failed in the past and what has caused great moves of God to thrive. This book is not even very long at 240 pages plus Appendixes. it only took me a week to read and at times was difficult to put down. This is great book that will likely get me reading other historical books about church history. And there is a bibliography in the back of the book for those that want to continue education in this area.
