Extremely Inspiring
The moment I recieved 'The Older Brother Returns' I had a very hard time putting it down. I laughed. I cried. It is very thought provoking. I want to send a copy to every one I know. This is the type book you just don't let out of sight. It is extremely inspiring, as I have said. I absolutely reccommend this to anyone down on themselves, down on life, down on the upcoming year, with all the hoopla you hear coming from the media. This book will turn your life around. It did mine.

THE OLDER BROTHER RETURNS is inspiring, timely and healing.
What a timely gift for all who seek to express God's loving heart in our day! Author Neal Lozano has served as an instrument of the Great Physician in providing a healthy dose of medicine for the soul and spirit. It is a very fitting book to read as we prepare for the new millennium. As Pope John Paul II urged recently, "Let no one behave like the elder brother in the Gospel parable who refuses to enter the house to celebrate (cf. Lk. 15:25-30). May the joy of forgiveness be stronger and greater than any resentment." THE OLDER BROTHER RETURNS is an excellent means to apply that timely message -- and the classic story about the prodigal son and the older brother (in all of us!).

simple, yet powerful
Ever been faced with a difficult or heart wrenching decision? Have you ever felt that God doesn't seem to be communicating His will to you even though you're trying as hard as you know how, to figure out what it is? This little book offers a process of discernment that is invaluable. The nine chapters offer guidance in the form of questions that you ask yourself and reflect on when you are in the process of making a decision. The text is enlivened by little anecdotes of real people who had to make decisions that sometimes, were not very clearcut. Using the steps in this book, I have been able to see how God has communicated with me throughout my life. It has increased my trust in His concern and love for me and my family. Following the steps in this book will help you be at peace with your decisions and will eliminate impulse as a factor in the choices you make. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful resource
This book is easy and enjoyable to read but also thought provoking and helpful. Fr. Scanlon offers practical advice and helpful examples in discerning God's will in your life. This inexpensive little book is a valuable resource.

The Best Introduction Regarding Deliverance!
This book by Fr. Michael Scanlan,TOR and Mr. Randall J. Cirner is the best introduction about the ministry of deliverance! Though written in a user-friendly and easy to understand manner, this book is well-balanced, avoiding the pitfalls of an exaggerated, angry, "I-cast-thee-out-devil! " type of books on this delicate subject, without compromising the academic rigors and critical open attitude on such a topic. As a Catholic Charismatic, this book helped me a lot in understanding the meaning of deliverance, what it is and what it is not; and it serves very well for Catholics like me who wanted to know more about what the ministry and purpose of deliverance is for the Church, its implications to the healing ministry, and how it is used in inner healing. I like the way Fr. Scanlan and Mr. Cirner wrote about the relevance and importance of the sacraments and sacramentals in the field of deliverance. This book is useful for those who wanted to get involved in the area of the healing ministry in their own parishes or prayer communities, or wanting to get a first-hand knowledge on the subject. Such a book is a goldmine! It is one of the best introduction books I have ever read on the field of Christian inner healing!

This book brought me BACK to the Holy Spirit!
Many words from this book have helped to heal a heart that was broken 10 years ago by a non-Catholic charismatic church. It is very well written, easy to understand, and gives step-by-step instructions for any baptized Christian looking to unleash the Holy Spirit within. A particular focus on the gift of Healing. The last chapter or so is mostly about Fransican University and is kind of boring, but everything before that was so good that I had trouble putting the book down! This book will definitely put a spark in your prayer life if you follow the suggestions. I think this would be a good book for anyone SKEPTICAL about Catholic Charismatic Renewal, as I was. I am a skeptic no more. Thank you, Father, for this book.

Let the Fire Fall
An excellent book on the power of the Holy Spirit and the effect it can have on your life. A must read for anyone serious about their faith and desiring more from their walk with God.

The Apparitions of Our Lady at Medjugorje: An Historical Account With Interviews

An Invaluable Record of the Early Days
This book is the most important work recording the early days of the apparitions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, at Medjugorje, a village in Hercegovina. Printed in 1984, it has interviews with the visionaries and other principal personalities closely connected with the phenomenon, some of which were used in Fr. Pelletier's later work "The Queen of Peace Visits Medugorje".

The work is not a sensationalist piece but an organised and focussed work, giving good background information, a faithful rendering of the facts and balanced theological perspective. You get a good feel of the place in the days before it became a popular destination for millions of pilgrims.

I especially appreciate precious details like the names of the other villages in the region, and that the parish of St. James has given 19 priests and 20 nuns, a stunning record of vocations.
