It is a two-in-one mystery book and is about a train mystery. There is also a new character in the story from California. All in all, it is a very good book!

This book is great. Aside from the fact that there's a cute little dog in every page, the book teaches a very important moral. If you sit down just for five minutes with this book, you'll never put it down until you're finished with it! Wishbone is great!

This is a good book that provides a lot of mystery. There is a lot of suspects, all with good reasons to commit the crimes. Just when you think you have the mystery solved, another twist in the plot appears to throw you off track. This is a good book which I recommened.

kids will love this adorable book - my daughter goes crazy for the wishbone series and this book was a great beginning for her. it loosely follows the old tale of the sorcerer's apprentice and is written in a lively and upbeat way that kids seem to respond to. a fabulous, clean book, highly recommended.

Kids in second to fifth grade wil enjoy this book. I will give this book four stars. It has good illustrations and is a little funny. This book takes after a story called Cinderella. Slender Ella has evil stepsisters like Cinderella, and they like to boss her around. In the end Slender Ella marries a prince just like Cinderella.

I have looked high and low for books that would tempt my reluctant reader. You name the beginning chapter book, and I have tried it. I saw Slender Ella and Her Fairy Hogfather and absolutely had to try it. The illustrations are so bright and cheerful---they truly draw you into the book. My daughter loved the parody on one of her favorite fairy tales and laughed through the whole book. By the way, my reluctant reader gobbled down this book in 15 minutes! She now goes back and re-reads it almost everyday!

Wow!Dog days of the West was a great book.I couldn't put it down. It was so exiting, the suspense of finding out who actualy owned The Oakdale Chronicle was fascinating.

I think this Wishbone book is better than others of its kind because the story plot is better written and the book is longer. It introduces more younger kids, now that Joe is going into 9th grade (same as myself). My favorite part in this book was when Wishbone found the deed with the winning hand! Another part I enjoyed was the story where Wishbone is Long Bill back into the Wild West Days. It has inspired me so much that I'm going to read books by O. Henry, because this Wishbone book was based on one of his books. I really enjoyed this book, and I'm in 8th grade!

This is a good book for kids who want to know the story of the book it is based on, Heart of the West. It also has another story worked into it, switching back and forth every two or three chapters. It is also funny, and has a small dictionary of unfamiliar words and phrases with their meanings. I highly recommened this book.
