organized approach to help in emergency situations
When my husband died he left me a three-ring notebook which we had labled the emergency book as it contained all the pertinent information about our financial, insurance, tax, etc. situations including the location of necessary documents such as wills to help settle the estate. This book is comparable and would help anyone become better organized to deal with daily and unexpected situations. With the three ring capability pages can be added that would personalize it to your special needs. sms

EXCELLENT BOOK!
A wonderful tool. This book has helped my family more than I can say. I highly recomend it.

A reader from Illinois
I bought this guide for myself, then my mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away within seven months. The workbook pages really helped me to know what questions to bring up with her. It saved a lot of time and aggravation after she passed away when I wasn't emotionally able to handle tough decisions. There are so many extra tips in this workbook; it is helpful even if you are going on vacation and someone needs to housesit. This workbook is helpful if you're 25 or 75. I highly recommend it.

Well-written overview of a topic you often move away from
This is a delightful book to read, first and foremost because the author does not overstate the case. He is quite clear in emphasizing the point that very few differential equations have explicit solutions. Furthermore, he also points out that solving some that have explicit solutions involves a non-obvious transformation to arrive at the solution.
The book is not suitable as a traditional textbook, as there are few problems left to the reader, with no solutions at the end. Instead the goal of the author is to present the fundamentals of differential equations by using solved examples. This technique works fairly well, largely due to the authors excellent style of writing. It is informal and informative, avoiding rigor while not sacrificing coverage. The topics are first order equations, second order equations and linear and nonlinear systems.
If you have been away from differential equations for some time, as I have, and are interested in a quick review, then this book will show you the way back. It is also suitable for any course where a non-rigorous overview of differential equations is needed.

This thin book beats the formal course
I probably learned more from this thin book than from my formal course in differential equations. The author does a good job developing unifying ideas within this area and providing ways to investigate problems. There's a lot of useful editorializing. This is a conversational text, not a definition-theorem-
proof book.

Great for low riders
Great book if you want to lower your truck and just want to cruise, nothing about raising your truck so you can go off-roading.

Great Detail For Building A Chevy PU
I found David Shelby's book to be very detailed in giving information about building a Chevy/GMC pickup. Not only does the author tell you how to hot-rod your truck, but he also explains why, and what the different methods are, and how they work. It has helped me tremendously with my project.
