Marvin Redpost A Magic Crystal?
I read Marvin Redpost, A Magic Crystal? It was a good, funny, exciting, COOL book. Do you think that others will read it? Well I hope that people will read the book because its fun to read it! Kids can read this book when they are in first through third grad!! You can get other book of Marvin Redpost books in you local library!

Marvin Redpost's a Winner!
It all started with Casey Happleton. She was the most unusual girl Marvin Redpost had ever met. She lived in an old fire station. Actually, it had been remodeled and on the inside looked pretty much like a regular house, except for the fire pole right in the middle of the living room. The pole went all the way up to the fourth floor and Casey was allowed to slide down on it. And, she had a big secret...a magic crystal. It used to be a normal rock, but had been struck by lightning in the storm the night before and now, if you made a wish on the magic crystal, it would come true. Casey had already tested it out. She had wished that Marvin would come over to her house and he had. Marvin was pretty skeptical about the magic and so he decided to test it himself. He wished that everyone would be in school the next day, no absences and the next day, everyone was in class. Then Casey wished for homemade cookies for an afterschool snack and a plate was waiting for them when she and Marvin got to his house later that day. Marvin figured the magic could be a coincidence and was pretty iffy. Casey was beginning to get on his nerves, always babbling away about the magic crystal and wishes and he finally got so angry that he wished she'd just shut up. And she did. She stopped talking completely. Now Marvin is starting to panic. No sounds are coming out of Casey's mouth and he doesn't know what to do..... Louis Sachar has written a delightful, silly and endearing story youngsters 6-10 will really enjoy. His writing is funny and true to life, his characters real people that kids can identify with and his scenes are vivid and at times laugh-out-loud funny. A Magic Crystal is a wonderful addition to the Marvin Redpost series.

Funny Throughout!
Louis Sachar's tricks on words in "A Magic Crystal (Marvin Redpost Series)" will have you and your child giggling, laughing, and even roaring. This story captivated my 6-year-olds' interest without the need for lots of pictures. I found myself enjoying it just as much as he did. My son could really relate to the characters and was excited by the plot. There is no better feeling for a parent when your child asks for more.

Marvin's Back....
How does Marvin Redpost get himself into these situations? The talk around school is that he's got a new mountain bike and is going to take on Suicide Hill. Truth is, Marvin can hardly even climb onto the bike, no less ride it. If he actually survives the ride, he'll be the most popular boy at school. If he wimps out, he'll never be able to show his face again. And if he challenges the hill and loses, his friends and family may get to watch the worst wipeout, ever. Poor Marvin is scared to death and doesn't know what he's going to do..... Louis Sachar has written another charming and amusing story your 7-10 year olds will really be able to identify with. This is a story full of great, realistic scenes, true to life dialogue and characters, so real, they could live in your neighborhood. And as Marvin decides whether to take that fateful trip down Suicide Hill or not, your youngsters will be rooting for him. Mr Sachar and Marvin never disappoint and they're not starting now.

Marvin Redpost continues to please
The newest Marvin Redpost series book does not disappoint its faithful followers. Marvin again gets himself into a sticky situation-- this time he manages to get dared into riding his new mountainbike down Suicide Hill and it's a bike that he can hardly fit on top of. Stick with Marvin through the story and learn how he always seems to come out on top!

Louis Sachar is a great author, and "Jonny in the basement" is good too. Not his best, but it is excellent. I'd have to congratulate Louis for all his success. Congratulations! And to anyone who wants to read this, do, it's a good book.

You never know....
You never know what to expect from a Louis Sachar book. The one thing you can always be sure of however is quality literature for young people that also appeals to adults. I have always been amazed at how this lawyer from California is able to weave elements of his stories together and not ignore the details. Little mysteries from the beginning of the story will make sense in the end.

Angeline is too smart for her own good and is not well like at school, until she meets a young boy who is sort of an outcast himself. The two of them befriend a teacher who befriends Angeline's father. The story was cute and I was able to relate Angeline and really felt for her. I did have 2 problems however.

First, Sachar routinely talks about the things Angeline knew before she was born because she was connected to the world, but he does not explore this topic as much as I would have liked, or expected. Also, I felt the suggested future romantic relationship between Angeline and Gary to be a little much considering she is only 8 years old. These are both small issues, but they did prevent the book from getting a five star rating.

Why 4 stars?:
With the exception of two flaws: 1 dealing with a concept not being explored fully, the other with content, this book was very enjoyable. It is not the most open for discussion of Sachar's works, but there is still plenty to talk about. I would recommend this book for intermediate students and their classrooms - it is already a part of mine.

I LOVED IT!!!!!!
I loved how Louis Sacher described Angeline's personality and life. I thought it was sweet that she could be anything from a layer to president, but she wanted to be a gar bage person like her father. I have read Wayside school books, but this was THE funniest of them all! I felt sorry for Angeline because she was laughed at for doing things that came natural to 8 year olds. Like, for example, sucking her thumb and being very emotional about every thing. I agree with Miss Turbone (a.k.a. Mr.Bone) when she said that if she had Mrs. Hardlick as a teacher, she'd go to the aquarium too. I rejoyced when Mellisa Turbone fell in love with Abel. Angeline deserved a mother. In my heart I know that they got married. I got worried when Angeline fell in the ocean and almost drowned. But, it WAS funny when she awoke in the hospital room to a joke. If I was Goon (Gary) I would have probably fainted when she said "What?". I loved this book with all of my heart. It is my third favorite book ever!! My first favorite is The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. Look for my review on it! READ SOMEDAY ANGELINE!!!!!!

Someday, Angeline
The book that ties in with Louis Sachar's Dogs don't tell jokes. Angeline is a witty, smart, but ridiculed kid. She can't understand why everybody makes fun of her, even if she's the class einstein. Her widowed father meets Miss Turbone who she calls Mr.Bone, and Angeline meets Gary Boone(aka Goon) who is the class clown. Gary has the same problems as Angeline, everybody thinks he just tells jokes and is the class clown. This is one of Louis Sachar's finest books and is extremely sad if you get everything.

The Best Book Ever
Nancy is my favorite character in the book Sideway Stories from Wayside School. I like it because... the chapter is very funny because if you think nancy is a girl you are totally wrong! It's a boy! He has big handsand feet and he thinks Nancy is a girls name. His class, Mrs. Jewls's class, thought his name was odd too. There are 23 people in his Class (not counting him). Before they had Mrs.Jewls they had Mrs. Gorf. I'm going to tell you about the whole story. So read it if you like weird books you will love this book !

5 star book
If you like pointless funny books read this. Sideways Stories from Wayside School is a great book. If you're like me and like pointless books this the book for you. This school has thirty floors but no nineteenth story. Strange! Yeah! This does not have chapters but it has stories about kids in the school. Let me tell you these kids are weird. They paint crazy pictures; they fall asleep and fall out of windows. These are just a few of the crazy stories. Go get a copy of this.

Funny, Funny...
It opens with children-turned apples turning their teacher, Mrs. Gorf, into an apple and giving her to their gym teacher, Louis (the author) to eat.

Need I say more?

This book is hilarious. I could just see kids I know going to a school thirty stories tall, with a classroom on each side, struggling through torturous mosquito bites, a teacher who thinks you're a monkey, and all sorts of kooky and downright hilarious characters. I could read this over and over. It is so realistic, yet oh so spacy.

I first read this book when I was about seven or eight. I have read it over and over with each of my five younger siblings and it gets funnier each time. Sachar has a way of appealing to all audiences.

Parents, the Wayside school series is the easiest way to get boob-tube obsessed kids to read a good book for a change.

And it is a good book!

Q's Views
Wayside school is Falling Down is a hilarious book. The book is about a classroom on the 30th story. There are 29 kids and 1 teacher, Mrs. Jewls. They have many adventures together that they think are every day adventures. The book is very different from others because Louis Sachar, the author, really used her imagination. A lot of people really like that. Other books are true, but nothing in this book is true. Like cows living in your school.
The author, Louis Sachar, has written a lot of books. Like Holes, Sideways Stories from Watside School, Wayside School gets a little Stranger, Sideways Arithmitic from Wayside school, Dogs don't tell Jokes, Boy who Lost his Face, 6th Grade Secrets, Marvin Redpost: Alone in his teacher's House, and Kidnapped at Birth? and many others.
Most people would find this very amusing. This book is so funny. Like when Mrs. Jewls pushes a computer that Louis, the yard teacher, had worked hard at getting up there, out the window. That was really funny and you can find more stuff like that by checking out more books by Louis Sachar. I think that everyone will really like this book.
I would think that people at the age of 8-11 year olds would like this book.

The Best Book I've Read This Year
Wayside School is Falling Down by Louis Sachar is a very interesting book about kids and the problems they have at school, such as a child bringing in a hobo for show and tell, and having a thirty stories high building instead of thirty classrooms next to each other! These are only two of the problems children at Wayside school face. So if you like adventures this book is right for you.
I really liked this book because every time I read it I would just crack up because it was so funny. Unfortunately this book is really short. Also it's more child-like than I had expected. .....

Wayside School is Falling Down
Wayside is falling down

My book, Wayside School is Falling Down by Louis Sachar is a story about a class on the thirteenth story Wayside School. Their teacher Mrs. Jewels is the nicest teacher in Wayside School. There is one very big problem at Wayside School there are dead rats living in the basement. They go through a lot of funny problems.
I like Todd in Mrs. Jewel's class because he always gets in trouble and has to ride home on the kindergarten bus early at noon. I like all the characters in this book. I think book really deals with you need to be happy that you go to school and some kids don't get that chance. What I liked about the book is that there is funny in every chapter. What I didn't like is how changed the whole plot every chapter. I was satisfied with the ending because I was surprised.
Louis Sachar keeps the reader entertained. It made me keep reading the book. The vocabulary is easy. This book would appeal from the ages between 9 and 13. It is very funny. I love this book and I recommend it to the people who like to have a good laugh I give the book five stars I really liked this book and I think you read it.

There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom
I am A.R.B a fifth grade student at Waldron Mercy Academy. This was on of the best books I have ever read. Bradley is the oldest kid in them fifth grade at Red Hill School. He tells enormous lies. He picks fights with girls so no body likes him. So there is this new kid named Jeff, and Bradley is nice for once. Well it doesn't stay like this for long. He starts being mean again. So he gets sent home with a letter to go to the counselor named Clara. When he goes he learns that you should like people for who they are in the inside not on the out. Then... I hope you find out what happens next (P.S. This a real page turner you can't put it down.)

Checkedout the girls room
This is a book about a boy named Bradley Chalkers who gets into a lot of trouble. He meets a new kid at school. His name is Jeff Fishkin. Jeff gets tied up with the wrong people. Then comes the new school counselor, Carla, who thinks Bradley is very interesting and doesn't believe in accidents. Carla tries to help Bradley but all she gets is a bunch of lies but she believes him and he feels special. Jeff goes to see Carla. Whoa! He doesn't believe what he's hearing. Then both Jeff and Bradley get black eyes. Then it gets very complicated. If you like humorous books you have to read "There's A Boy In The Girls Bathroom"

Read this book or we'll spit on you.
Ask the author, Louis Sachar, of this outstanding book if you don't believe us. This book is funny and exciting. We never wanted to put the book down. There is a very humorous, outrageous character, Bradley Chalkers, who acts like a bully at school but talks to his stuffed animals at home. His soon-to-be new friend Jeff moves to town and sits where no one else dares to sit, next to Bradley, last seat, last row in Mrs. Ebbel's class. Later in the book Bradley changes and grows to like his new counselor, Carla, who helps him to change. And the very coolest part of the book is ... well we can't tell you. If you buy the book, you can find out.

Holes
" Welcome to Camp Green Lake," said the bus driver. The first words Stanley heard as he entered the campsite. He looked out the window and didn't like what he saw. From then on he knew Camp Green Lake wasn't what he expected.
Stanley Yelnats is sent to penalty camp because he was accused of stealing a basketball players shoes. When Stanley reaches Camp Green Lake he takes a look out the bus window and sees nothing but tents and holes in the ground. At first Stanley is teased and picked on by everyone, even the wordan, the boss of the camp. Stanley makes a friend named, Zero. They both decide to run away and try to get back home. But a few problems come their way.
Holes is a great book for kids that love to read about adventures. It is full of tales, friendships and mysteries. There are tons of details and they are all very interesting. I loved this book because it caught my attention fast and had a very appealing plot.
People who love to read about teenagers, adventures and mysteries would love this book. If you also like the author, "Louis Sachar" this is probably one of his best books he's written. If you like stories where there are always questions that don't have easy answers you should read this book
Holes is one of the best books I've read. If I've perked your interest with what you've read so far read this book! That way you will learn of all the troubles, adventures and stories Stanley and Zero pass through on their journey home.

Wanna go diggin kids?
"Holes," written by Louis Sachar, is a tale of intertwining stories meshed together to unfold a plot that will capture any reader, young or old! I loved this book so much that I have been making my adult friends, co-workers, and neighbors read it. They have all come to the same conclusion - this book is a story not to be missed by any. Young Stanley Yelnats is sent to a detention facility at Camp Green Lake, but this camp is not your average camp because "there is no lake at Camp Green Lake." From the beginning, Sachar has the reader trapped into why exactly there would be no lake at a place bearing a title that says otherwise. Stanley has been sent to this camp due to unforeseen circumstances, but weird happenings are quite regular with Stanley's life. His family has been cursed for generations thanks to his "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great- grandfather!" When Stanley is told to dig holes, he doesn't understand what the purpose could possibly be. And these holes are not your average holes either, but then again, Stanley is not your average kid. He begins to realize that the holes may mean more than what they represent on the surface. Sachar weaves a tale that is hard to put down once started. The humor and wit keeps the reader interested through the very end. I highly recommend this book to kids and adults alike!

The Holes of Camp Green Lake
This one of the greatest and most mysterious books I've ever read. The main character, Stanley Yelnats, is accused of a crime (stealing a baseball player's shoe's) he didn't commit, and he is sent to a dried up lake called Camp Green Lake (it's a boy's detention center)as punishment. The boys that are at Camp Green Lake must wake up every morning and wake up at 4:30 a.m., and the boys have to dig a hole that is 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide, even on weekends and holidays! The Warden says that digging holes builds character, but Caveman (Stanley), Theodore (Armpit), Ricky (Zig Zag), X-Ray, Squid, and Hector Zeroni (Zero) aren't digging to build character, the Warden is looking for something. I liked the book because it was so emmotional, exciting, and adventurous. If you are in 4th grade or higher, you will enjoy this book.

Alone in His Teacher's House
Marvin Redpost gets to feed and take care of his teacher's dog while she is on vacation. Nick and Stuart, Marvin's best friends, thinks he is the luckiest kid in the world. Suddenly Marvin's teacher's dog dies. Now Marvin is the unluckiest kid in the world. Will Marvin's teacher be mad at him and give him bad grades?

A Good Book for the Everyday Kid
I picked up this book after reading Sachar's "Holes" to my elementary aged kids, and I was very pleased with the content. In this book, Sachar allows his readers to see life from the perspective of a regular, everyday kid -- and reading it inspired a "what-would-you-do-in-that-situation" dialogue with my own regular, everyday kids. I truly appreciated seeing a young person in this age range (the 3rd grade-ish Marvin Redpost) portrayed as having a conscious, a sense of responsibility, and the awareness to have compassion for others. Marvin is faced with a pretty grown-up sized situation concerning a beloved pet, and I think it's handled with grace and tenderness. I was pleased to see my children feeling compassion for this character, and I'm looking forward to reading more of Marvin's adventures to my own kids.

Read This Book If You Llike To Watch Dogs?
Find out what it is like to go in your teacher's house in this Marvin Red Post book. Marvin Red Post is a little boy. He was alone in his teacher's house. Marvin was babysitting his teacher's dog. The author sends a message about being nice by helping others. The pictures are good but the words help you see the book in your mind. Read Marvin Redpost: Alone in His Teacher's House By: Luis Sachar to find out what happens to Marvin as he watches the dog.

Marvin Redpost Kidnapped at Birth
The way I like that book was beacause I like reading the kind of books that have adventures and mysteries. The book I read
that kidnapped kid was kind of fun. I also like that book because
that third grade kid who thougt he was kidnapped at the day he was born. I would love to tell this story so other kids would
enjoy reading it like I enjoyed it. It was about a great kid who thought he was kidnapped at birth. Because when he saw the t.v
news the prince of shampoon lost his son when he was born.

This Book Is Intersting To Read!
I really like this book called Marvin Redpost: Kidnapped at Birth. Marvin is a 9 year old boy who is always getting in trouble. In this story Marvin is kidnapped by strangers. Marvin tries to get to mom and dad, who are the King and Queen. Marvin said he had the wrong family. Louis Sachar is the author. I like this book because it is sometimes funny and sometimes it has really cool pictures. Sometimes Marvin books are hard and sometimes they are easy. It is the right book for me and it is good for the other 3rd grade also.

better pic.
I think this Marvin Redpost book is better then the other Marvin Redpost books because the pic. are better then all of the other ones.
