SAS System for Mixed Models

Wonderful resource
Tons of examples! It's a nice mix between theory and applications, citing scenarios from all industries. Not only do they show you the code, they also produce the output and go through it section by section.
Examples, Examples, Examples
This references goes beyond the SAS Reference Manual (V.8) for mixed models. This is an applied statistics book, but theory is given in an end chapter. Basic and advanced topics are presented, and although introductory sections are provided...the book is written at a graduate-level and previous experience with analysis of variance is a desirable prerequisite. Topics covered include common mixed models, analysis of repeated measures data, random effects models, analysis of covariance, random coefficient models, heterogeneous variance models, spatial variability, generalized linear mixed models, and nonlinear mixed models. Two to six examples are discussed in detail for each of these cases. If you're trying to figure out a split-plot analysis with random effects and a complicated covariance structure...i.e. messy data...this book will do for you in two hours, what a week of reading the standard SAS manuals would have done. Also, if you primarily work with mixed models, this book is a lot cheaper than the standard SAS manuals, and tells you more about mixed models.

This is an absolutely fantastic book.
Chronicles of Lake George is composed of diary entries and historical accounts written by individuals who describe their thoughts on seeing Lake George for the first time. With descriptions from 1749 to 1914, its very interesting historical reading. You'll have a much better understanding of the history of Lake George after reading this book.
The best book on this subject in print.
So significant to American history and yet so little known! The history of the war route known as Lake George and its later role in tourism and conservation as told through eyewitness journals. Full of interesting stories, illustrations and great pictures. You don't need to be a history buff to enjoy this book. Lake George is still a wild and beautiful place and "Chronicles" enhances the lake's mystique for the reader.

A True View of the Faeries
It is a breath of fresh air to read a book written by someone with an obvious knowledge of and respect for the Faeries, as opposed to the common view in most books today. Mynne shows the connection between faerie and UFO sightings, describes the Faerie universe and four great seers, then devotes the rest of the book to amazing guided meditations and the complete Ballad and Romance of Thomas the Rhymer. A must-have for those who feel a connection with the Fae.
The Faerie Way, by Hugh Mynne is Wonderful!
This book is great. I couldn't put it down until I had read it from cover to cover! This is good if you want to read from a SINCERE author on the Fae. It is evident from his writings that Hugh has a deep admiration & respect for the Fae. I am happy to say that I can recommend this book. I am very pleased! I can see why it was bought up so quickly. I hope it goes to reprint soon. I wanted to buy a copy for some friends. Thank you Hugh, for a fascinating book.

Beautifully written, Spellbinding.
Thoroughly captivating storytelling of George F. Kennan's strategic thought. I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. If this is a first book for Dr. Russell, I believe we are seeing genius in the making. Perhaps the present forgers of US foreign policy should review this book and look to its author as blueprint for Foreign Policy as we known it. This book truly breaks down Kennan's strategic thought, with explanations a fifth grader could come to understand. Awesome. Beautifully written. Spellbinding.

The War Down-to-Earth
A fine compilation of first hand materials, field reports and eye-witness accounts for the War Between the States. At first glance this is a bore, but after the first few texts you get to know the REAL civil war - the war from a personal point of view. This is of course a book that exclusively deals with the war from a Southern perspective, but as such I see it as an indispensable contribution to the understanding of what really happened during those fateful four years. This is a true must for the civil-war buff and heritage minded person alike. It has filled a gap too long ignored in the ongoing popularization of the knowledge about the civil war and therefore it is laudible.

Jazz Improvisation at Its Best
George Russell is at his best here in this magnificent work of music, jazz, improvisation... life! The book manages to capture the greatness of such proponents of the Lydian Chromatic concept as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and countless others. It is truly inspirational, a "must-have" for any serious Jazz musician who wishes to do some soul searching the only way he/she knows how: through their horn! No music theory collection would be complete without it.

I've waited all my life for this book!
Just terrific! Since there are so many schools of ballet, (Cechetti, Vaganova, french, Bournonville...),it's the first time there's a book telling you the difference between the Balanchine technique (much superior to me)and the old way of training,I found this book perfect for anyone interested in Ballet, you can learn so much by reading and the pictures are so beautiful that I framed some.Bravo!
A Wonderful Book
This book shows the technique that the ballet master, George Balanchine, wanted his dancers to use to be the best dancers they could possibly be. Being a dancer, I found this book to be quite fascinating, but, you don't have to be a dancer to enjoy it. Even if you get bored with reading, the photographs will certainly captue your intrest.
An Invaluable Guide
This book is a comprehensive look at George Balanchine's ballet technique. Balanchine himself thought that he would be remembered more for his teaching than his choreography and Schorer does an excellent job in detailing the technique that he molded for New York City Ballet. The book covers Barre Work, Upper Body, Pointework and Related Releve, Jumps, as well as a section you rarely see covered in a technique book, Partnering. Every exercise is clearly described both in words and with a photograph, and Schorer often includes analogies and other teaching tools that she uses to get her students to understand the particular quality of a movement. This book is an invaluable source of information about ballet technique whether or not you subscribe to what is know as "Balanchine Technique."
I also highly recommend reading "Pointework," also by Schorer, as well as watching the three "Balanchine Essays" videos, where Schorer herself instructs New York City Ballet dancer Merrill Ashley and three students in the areas of Arabesque, Passe and Attitude, and Port de Bras.
