Reclaiming Kierkegaard from the "irrational."
It is easy to misunderstand such a subtle philosopher as Kierkegaard. From his cryptic style and pseudonymns creeps a message heavily veiled, and best understood by a select view. Both "existentialism" and "irrational" become easily misused buzz words far too often applied to Kierkegaard. This book argues that such has been the case with Alasdair MacIntyre in his book AFTER VIRTUE. Fortunately, those who seem most on the mark in their interpretations of Kierkegaard have been gathered here in this collection of essays defending Kierkegaard against MacIntyre's claims that Kierkegaard is an irrational fedeist. KIERKEGAARD AFTER MACINTYRE is a brilliant and responsible exposition of the depths and intricacies of "the father of existentialism" by, whom I believe to be, the most "well-versed" Kierkegaardian scholars. Most helpful in this book was the light it shed on the influence both Kant and Artistotle had on Kierkegaard's conception of the self and decision-making, and the importance of understanding what are Kierekgaard's thoughts through all the pseudonymity...especially when it comes to his writings on the Judge and the Aesthete in Either/Or.

The book is highly enjoyable with concise essays that make their points while citing the various passages of Kierkegaard. One can easily check their refences if one is skeptical of the context. And what I enjoyed most was the fairness of the book. MacIntyre himself ends the collection of essays, and has the last words in response to the book's claims that he has radically misunderstood Kierkegaard. A good read and a definite must for anyone who wants to stay on top of the issues at hand in Kierkegaardian scholarship.

Kierkegaard and the Limits of the Ethical

The best book on Kierkegaard that I have read
During my academic studies I managed to read between 50 and 75 books on Kierkegaard, and along with Louis Mackey's KIERKEGAARD: A KIND OF POET, this was the most illuminating that I encountered. This is a clear and penetrating study of both Kierkegaard's own work and the way that it can be used to address current issues in moral philosophy. Should be on the short list of essential books for any aspiring student of Kierkegaard.

Not user friendly
Perhaps something went wrong in the translation because the book is hard to use. Example: To find subscript in the index you have to know if you want an array subscript or a literal subscript. The user guide is better if you can find one so don't waste your money.

Practical use of Mathcad...
A very good reference book. I find it easier to get information than the user guide. The first part covers the basic of the program while the second part (what I like) classifies into each type of mathematical problems with examples. If you know what type of the problem you encoutered, just look through the required chapter you'll find related theory and example. Covered version 7&8.

Practical Usage of Ispf Dialog Manager

Definitely not for the novice.
The synopsis in you advertisement says this book is for the novice. The book does not even tell one how to create a basic panel. It apparently is a handy reference for someone who is already well verse in the use of ISPF DIALOG MANAGER. Rather expensive book for no more knowledge than it imparts.

This book is excellent for ISPF application development.
This is the best book on ISPF I have ever used, including the IBM manuals as far as developing ISPF applications with REXX or CLIST. Other ISPF books contain pages and pages of screen prints you could simply see for yourself on the computer. Practical usage of ISPF showed me quickly and easily how to use ISPF skeletons, tables , and ISPF library management services within an application. These are features that are so poorly explained in the manuals I could not implement then until I read this book. It does assume you know some basics of ISPF, but it is an excellent bridge from the basics to more advanced topics.
