Disappointed
Unfortunately this book didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. After 12 weeks of self guided revolting exercises such as eating whilst looking in the mirror, keeping endless food diaries and having role plays with myself I was no more enlightened as to how to solve the problem. The authors solution is to learn to make your "adult"(sensible) voice in your head overule your "child"(the one thats eats to make itself feel better). How you do this other than by sheer willpower and self talk is still a mystery to me. The book will be useful for those who don't understand why they eat compulsively and it will offer you some ways of coping. It will also make you see that you are not alone. My advice would be that if you really have an eating disorder you need to seek professional, human form, help in order to overcome it, this book is no substitute.

Awesome Book and VERY helpful
This book is simply incredible. The fact that it is set up like a seminar/workshop with exercises (as in assignment) is just wonderful. It really allows you to get involved with the book and with overcoming your problem. You don't just learn about your problem - you actually take the physical steps in moving forward. You can change your life and this book definetly helps.

Made me cry
I know that it is hard to believe that a "diet" book made me cry, but it really did!
I've been on the diet roller coast since I was 11 years old. I've been anorexic, bulimic and still suffer from binge eating. I was at my wit's end when I ordered The Hunger Within. I didn't think that a self-help book would give me any new ideas or solutions but I decided I would try it.
I just started reading the book yesterday. It has definitely been a breakthrough as the other reviewer said.
I realized just out of touch I am with myself. It made me finally see a lot of the problems that I have just never wanted to deal with.
You should definitely get this book if you are struggling not just with weight but with coming to terms with issues such as obsession and compulsion.

Taguchi Techniques for Quality Engineering: Loss Function, Orthogonal Experiments, Parameter and Tolerance Design

Great book for anyone with no practical experience in DOE
Seems to be written for people with no background in designing experiments. Gives you a good start and gives you the basic information on Taguchi methods. A favorite of Engineering students since it is extremely easy to follow. Great first book for someone starting out with Design of Experiments. Covers the full problem solving process with DOE being a part of the process.

Minimal information is given regarding Classical DOE. If you have an academic or Engineering background and are interested in learning experimental designs other than Taguchi methods, then buy the "Statistics for Experimenters: An Introduction to Design, Data Analysis, and Model Building" By: George E. P. Box, et al. -- the Classical DOE reference handbook for Engineers.

A complete course for Taguchi Engineering Techniques
Maybe the most known and recurrently used Taguchi techniques are the Orthogonal Arrays for DOE; but they're not the only ones that Taguchi developed in order to achieve a quality product design. The Loss Function, the S/N ratio and the Tolerance Design are part of the "Robust Engineering" that consolidated Taguchi as the quality guru he is.

Many general DOE concepts are so well explained in this book that it represents a great introductory text to this subject. Nevertheless this is a Taguchi techniques book, not a complete DOE text, so it's possible that you'd like to look for "Design and Analysis of Experiments" by Douglas C. Montgomery.

This book is highly valuable if you want to understand the Taguchi philosophy for developing quality products and a must have for DOE beginners.

A Fun, Action Filled Adventure
True Lies is a fun action packed film. There's no question about that. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a spy whose been lying to his wife for the last 15 years saying he was a computer salesmen. The Mrs. finally does find out. Schwarzenegger starts to kick some serious [rear-end] as he gets involved with arms smuggling. Jamie Lee Curtis, as the wife, is entertaining. She seems to be having a lot of fun with this role. Tom Arnold(who I don't mention out loud that I really like)brings some nice comedic relief as Arnold's partner. The great Eliza Dushku is on hand as Ah-nold's and Jamie's daughter. Charlton Heston has a very small role as Schwarzenegger's boss. The comedy bits are pretty funny, and the action is high octane adrenaline. The end scene with the harrier jet is spectacular. Director James Cameron can always be counted on for big, over the top blockbusters. This is no exception. This
movie was easily Schwarzenegger's last great movie. You also get the added bonus of a semi-nude Jamie Lee, looking incredible, doing a dirty dance for her hubby. This is not Casablanca people. It's just a simple, fun adventure. Nice time waster. Have fun and enjoy it.

James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger are back! No Lie!
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bill Paxton and Tom Arnold dazzle in this action adventure thrill ride of movie from director James Cameron (Titanic, Terminator 2, Aliens). Jim Cameron had a real turn around from his usual Sci-Fi thriller films to an action comedy, which he later followed up on with a different genre of a film- the suspenseful romance drama- Titanic which was said to be one of the greatest films all around. SCHWARZENEGGER again teams up with JAMES CAMERON for the third time around, following up their past projects together, TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. Adding to the team are funnyman Tom Arnold, HALLOWEEN'S Jamie Lee Curtis, and James Cameron's great friend Bill Paxton who's worked with Jim Cameron (Terminator, Aliens, Titanic) and Arnold (Terminator, Commando, True Lies) a few times. The plot of this film was not too typical for its time of 1994, but it is a similar to a James Bond film or Mission: Impossible- the only thing is, it's better than all of them! It shows you spies and action adventure like you have never seen before! This movie has got lots of action, romance and comedy!!! I recommend this movie to anyone and everyone who is looking for a good time!

Arnold at his best.
There are two ingredients for a great Arnold flick: tonue in cheek comeday and unbelievable action. This movie has enough of both of these for two movies.

When Arnold gets together with James Cameron, you know the action's going to be unbelievable. I can't wait for TRUE LIES 2. The chase scene in the snow, the bridge chase, and the Harrier scene...some of the best action I've seen in years.

Jamie Lee Curtis as Arnold's unsuspecting wife is just great. She can play both the vulnerable housewife and the hard as nails woman protecting herself...plus she can scream really well! The chemistry between her and Arnold onscreen is great.

The comedy in this movie is great. Tom Arnold plays Arnold's partner and just gets walked all over by him. Has to take all the abuse and cruddy jobs...just hilarious. Then there's Bill Paxton's bit role as a sleazy car salesman. He does an unbelievably funny job.

This is probably Arnold's best movie since TERMINATOR 2. Definitely a must see for any action junkie.

Misleading Title
The Book of Druidry claims to be a history of an ancient religious system. In fact, the book presents a modern blend of New Age approaches, pop psychology, Nicholls' own ideas, and the well-intended but inaccurate writings of 18th century antiquarians such as John Toland and William Stukeley. For example, Nicholls and Carr-Gomm present druidry as a prehistoric system of belief that they say originated on Atlantis, was practiced by the builders of Stonehenge, and was adopted later by Celtic settlers in Britain. Such statements contradict all the archaeological, linguistic, and historical evidence that document the druids as the clergy of the pre-Christian Celts. Another imaginative idea asserted as fact in this book is that the Ce/li De/, a monastic reform movement of ninth-century Ireland, was actually founded by the sixth-century saint Colum cille as a refuge for persecuted druids and a vehicle for preserving druidry for future generations. If you are seeking accurate information in an easy-to-read format, try Miranda Green's _The World of the Druids_ or Barry Cunliffe's _The Ancient Celts_. For more depth, see Anne Ross's _Pagan Celtic Britain_, Green's _The Celtic World_, and _The Celts_ ed. by Moscati. The facts about the druids are intriguing in themselves; there's no need to manufacture a history for them.

Wow...
this book was more than I anticipated. i didn't know anyone who could fit that much information in any type of book Ross does it well and keeps it interesting. A must for anyone wishing to know history and druidism...

Book of MODERN Druidry
Modern druidry traces its roots to the early 1700's and that is the tradition that this book is about. The Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids is still around and going strong and this book seems to be an introduction to the Order.

All that aside, it is a good read. A wealth of ideas, this book can be one step on your spiritual path. Or it can be just an interesting book about modern druids. Regardless of your beliefs, if you have any interest in the subject this is a good book.

There are many other books available if you are interested in historical druids- "The Druids" by Stuart Piggott, for example.

Has a few merits
Although this book is compact it is too heavy to carry if one is on a walking tour. I can read a newspaper without glasses, but with glasses I had trouble with the type. It is not in an orderly format nor is there is a good section on hotels.

Very good resource for planning and en route
I have had great experiences with the DK Guides. I use it extensively in my trip planning and this is the guide I take on the trip.

This guide provides execllent information about local sites throughout Beligium. It gives very clear guidance concerning what you can find and access information. It also helps you to locate the sites with indexed maps and diagrams.

I have found that this and the other DK Guides are bit weak in providing guidance about what to see. That is, it offers little qualitative information--everything sounds equally wonderful. And we all know this is not necessarily the case.

So I always find another guide that has more opinions and recomended tours to determine what to see. I espiecially look for guided the provide suggested walking tours. This has worked out well for the most part. I use other guides to plan the trip and the DK Guide in the country.

It has very usable maps although sometimes too limited in scope and you may require a local map to get around beyond the central city. Also, because the book is a bit heavy and too large to fit in a jacket pocket after the first day or so I leave it in the hotel and rely on the local map when walking about.

The one topic I find most reliable is DK's restaurant recommendations. The two places I tried in Brussels were fantastic and offered everything that the guide described. I have had equal success with DK's restaurant recommendations in other cities/countries.

I think this is an indispensible travel guide as long as you know what you are using it for--planning or background info, etc.

Eyewitness Travel Guide to France

Its write style is very accesible to everyone who wants to start travel books reading and deep explore the frontiers around the globe.
