The fundamental tesis of this book relay on the tight relationships between development of the cities societies and the ideology. The urban mentality was a true ideology in Latin America and it was the center of the social, economics and politics tendencies that had been stablished as the differents opinions. Because of this, the city history gives a clue to understand the meaning of general history in Latin America. Jose Luis Romero was a brilliant historician borned in Argentina and he introduced the concept of social history breaking tne positivism. He was influenced by Marc Bloch and the anales school.
