I enjoyed reading this very witty book about birds and how George puts them into different human situations. His background in marriage and family counseling, psychology, birding, and contemporary culture shows in each essay.

I especially liked "An Apology that's Overdue" where he describes birds that are unfit parents and how the "left wing" and "right wing" legislators address the problem. I also enjoyed reading the letter to "Dr. Joyce Druthers" from an Oriole that has a fear of flying.

You don't have to be a birder to enjoy this book. It was fun to read.
