What a great trivia book on the stones, it's a must for all Rolling Stones fans. I had a great time reading this book alone and with friends.

If your a fan of the band this book is a must! What fun I had reading this book. Some of the questions were a little hard and others were extremely hard but on the whole the book was highly entertaining. This book can be used as a learning tool or to simply vex friends and family. Enjoy this book - I did!

kushner's book is quite simply THE book to read if you have any interest at all in jewish mysticism. Totally accessible to anyone. Kushner has written several books after this one and most are also excellent but this is the place to begin.

A reprint of "Honey from the Rock: Ten Gates of Jewish Mysticism", with an added preface and foreword, this is a book I've treasured and read many times since I bought the first edition in 1983.
It's poetic, with a warmth and humanity that touches the heart an illuminates the mind. Its 10 chapters are broken down into short pieces (93 in all), and when quoting from the Torah or a rabbinical saying, the original Hebrew is written below the quote.
This slim volume could easily be read in one day, but I don't think you would want to...it's a book to savor and reflect upon, because in its simplicity, there is much depth.

That the apparent multiplicity
Is in reality a unity"

Dr. Kennedy is my pastor.This book was written and is used to teach an understanding of church leadership and authority.It also supports the home group (or C.A.R.E. groups as we call them at the North Church in Carrollton Texas).That acronym stands for Caring and Reaching Everyone.This is a really good book and I highly reccommend it.This is also a required textbook and course given at the North Church.

Writing about Oak Creek Canyon can be like writing about the Grand Canyon: it is difficult to find something that has not been said. Lawrence Cheek is one of the finest writers I have read; he not only covers his subject seamlessly, but reading his work is a pure pleasure for the language. He is erudite without ever being stuffy, descriptive without being flowery and thoroughly entertaining.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants an oveview of the Oak Creek area.

My copy is called "Moon the Loon." It's one of the funniest books I've ever read. Totally unique. It is just a collection of stories about Keith Moon that do justice to his genius. I have lent my copy to at least 12 people (most of whom have never heard of Keith Moon) and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. When I went to London I tried to contact Peter Butler to compliment him on his fine work - but there are too many Peter Butlers living in London!

It's too bad this book is out of print, because these are the adventures (many very funny but in the end very sad) of one the greatest (if not THE greatest) drummers of all time. And besides that, it's written by a guy who knew Moonie and witnessed his antics 1st hand. I wish the guy who's trying to make a screenplay the best of luck. The next step after consulting Butler is to get permission from the Who to use their songs. To close this review, I'd like to paraphrase the last sentence in the book, "Keith Moon ups and [very] well dies."

Nobody lived his life like Keith Moon. Those who knew him were astounded at his all consuming passion to get everything possible out of life. Dougal Butler has written, in a unique and incredibly humorous way, the best book I've yet read about the life and incredible times of Keith Moon. Don't miss this one. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book because the author ( my uncle) made me feel like I was in Jordan during his childhood. My father was very happy whenever talking about or visiting Jordan. This book helps me understand how he felt.

I recommend this book of poems to everyone, especially the folks that grew up in the rural ares of this country. I guarentee that any one who has spent time in a small town in the thirties and forties in rural America will find many things in these poems that will bring back fond memories. These poems are so descriptive, I am sure the writer must have lived them.

Mr. Leuschen's poetry seems to capture the essence of growing up in Montana, which is certainly different than growing up anywhere else in our great country. Certainly a top rate collection from an (apparently) new poet. Highly recommended for poetry fans, or people (like me) that have always been a little in awe of the whole "Montana experience."

In "A Rock Garden in the South" Ms. Lawrence returns to her greatest strength. I don't think anyone has ever understood rock gardens as well as Ms. Lawrence. And if you're concerned about water scarcity and drought, knowing about rock gardening is quite pragmatic.

Although the book was written some time ago, and released after her death, it was edited by Nancy Goodwin and Allen Lacy, so the contents are solid and up to date. The contents read somewhat like an annotated plant list, but Ms. Lawrence writes beautiful prose so it's not at all dry and boring. In fact, her writing is useful and entertaining.

Ms. Lawrence believed you could make a rock garden almost anywhere--even if you didn't have rocks. The key is to plant things that will grow in your area. Most of her writing in this book is useful for the middle South -- Zones 6-8 -- but if you look at a garden book showing the USDA growing zones you'll see they extend clear across the country.

The book contains a great deal of information about plants and their likes and dislikes. There are no photographs, this is solid text, however, if I want to know what something looks like I find a catalog from Wayside Gardens and poke around. Some of the more esoteric items may not be pictured in any garden catalog with photos, but sometimes it's worth the gamble to just try something on faith.
