Superb Collection of Adoption Stories
Ms. Robinson has amassed a large collection of work from 75 respected poets, authors and playwrights, all of whom have one thing in common--an adoption connection. Some, like the father of former basketball star Issac Berg, and myself, adopted children, many internationally. Others, like Paula Friedman of California, were birthparents. Still others were themselves adopted as children. It is a privilege to have my work included in this edition, whose writers hail from many racial and religious backgrounds, yet sing in chorus: We can all learn from one another, and from the adoption experience. Touched by Touched by Adoption
I read this book over Christmas and found it to be in keeping with the season. I enjoyed the poetry and the story "Stupid" by Sarah Freligh. I recommend this book for everyone!

Touched By Adoption
As an adoptive aunt, I found this book compelling reading. More important, my adopted niece recognized herself within the pages and was moved by the experience. This was a perfect gift for Patty, and I highly recommend it to others!

The Persona Book
If you're looking for a way to make students feel a part of the Middle Ages, the Civil War, Ancient Greece or Egypt, this book is a must have! The authors use literary or historical characters to introduce children to history--in a first hand way. Learn about medieval times by taking on the persona of King Arthur or Guinevere. Learn about the Civil War by being Grant or Lee. Understand ancient Greece and Egypt through the eyes of their mythological gods. Children will love this approach to history.

Provides a creative, yet practical, way of teaching history
This book provides a creative yet practical way of bringing history to life for students in grades 4-6. Each chapter provides teachers with ideas for enriching curriculum content areas. I've shared this book with several of the teachers in my school and, now, they all use it.

I LOVE VERONICA AND THE LATE NANCY K. ROBINSON!!!
I was so glad to find this book in the library. I have been aVeronica the Showoff fan since the age of 10 which was 1986. I evenwrote to the author Nancy when I was 11 and told her how much her books meant to me. Nancy was such a sweet heart! She sent me a handwritten card updating me on the sequels. I wrote her again back then and she wrote again. I was saddened to discover her death in 1995. This book is really good. We will miss Nancy and her Veronica, Crystal, Melody, Hilary, Chris, Danny, Tina, Angela, Nathaniel, Wendy and the gang.

Excellent!
This book is for those who are disappointed in life because of "nonevents" - things that we expected to happen in life but didn't. Love, children, career - it covers it all. It was nice to know that this is being recognized - so many people have these small disappointments that can really have a huge impact on the quality of one's life. Good tips to cope are provided. This is the first book that I have seen that has dealt with this issue and I thought it was excellent!

Veronica Knows Best

a FUN-filled book!
Like the first book in this series, Veronica The Show-Off, Veronica is at it again! This book is a lot of fun! Veronica is trying to make friends and she has a habit of telling outrageous stories and they get her into all kinds of trouble. Also, she gets to go visit her father who lives in sunny California (her folks are divorced). THe thing I hate though is that I think Veronica's mother is a materialistic snob who spends too much money on herself and neglects her daughter, and tries to get her to eat carrot sticks. That seems like it gives lip service to the diet world that says you have to look like a stick! also Veronica's mother makes her daughter call her by her first name because she thinks it makes her feel younger. Does that mean she regrets having kids? THat irritated me. But this book is still cool that part just made me mad.

Mom, You're Fired!

Mom, You're Fired!
The book, Mom, You're Fired!, by Nancy K. Robinson, is an exciting book about the relationship between Tina and her mother. A lot of children go through embarrassing mothers and this book tells about how Tina deals with it.

Weather it's at home, at the grocery store, at a parent-teacher conference, or even when a friend is over, Tina's mother has ways of embarrassing her. She dresses weird, she sings in public, and does all other kinds of typical embarrassing-mother-things. I think that Tina can be selfish at times, and cares too much about what other people think. Her mother is the opposite. She'll do anything for Tina and couldn't care less about what people think of her. I think her mother is a very caring mother but at the same time does her own thing. Tina's best friend Melissa, is rude, selfish, and stuck up. I didn't like her at all. Tina has some problems with her friends, and her mother is always there for her. What I liked best about the book was how Tina dealt with they way her friends treated her. I didn't like how Tina treated her mother though. It was really rude. This book teaches a lot about treating your parents with respect. The ending was typical but I liked it.

The does a good job with keeping the reader interested and not giving too many details. The book was fairly easy to understand and didn't have big words at all. Because of the plot, this book is great for ages 10-16. I would recommend this book because so many kids can relate to it.

Does your mother embarrass you?

From the back cover of the book:

Wonderful Book
I read this book and thought would I ever do this to my mom! Every kid should read this and think about their mom.

I first read an older edition of this from the library, and immediately ordered the current edition. If you are going to own only one book on being a landlord, this has to be the one. Very easy to read and understand, and every bit of advice is practical and do-able. Not a book on how to get rich in real estate, but how to get the most from rental property you own without going nuts, whether its a spare sleeping room or a 200 unit multiplex.

Excellent guide for beginners.
I read this book for a research paper and was surprised that I became interested in becoming a landlord. It is clear and understandable. It offers all the necessary forms for tenants and also ways to document property condition, remove tenants, etc. A must for landlords!

A vital first book for optimizing success as a landlord
This book was very thorough in dealing with the multitude of decisions a landlord has to make. Practically all small details and major concerns are addressed. The forms are of great value for the beginner who has none. One could learn from trial and error at some expence and head-ache or they could utilize this book to hit the ground running as they start landlording or just become better at it. The only draw back is that about 1/2% is subtley influenced by the laws and practices of California, paricularly the forms. But, this is not major at all, and can be overcome by learning your own state's statues on rental property. This book is not merely about landlord law but how to be a prosperous landlord. The landlording techniques for dealing with tenants makes this book invaluable! Overall, it is the most usefull book I have read on this subject.
