This book has stolen J. R. Williams title, but not his wit and insight. Decades after publication, old copies of Williams' books command high prices. This book, despite lifting a popular title, will soon be as widely read as its subject is interesting or relevent.

There used to be a cartoon "Out Our Way", by a man named J.R. Williams, born in Nova Scotia, worked in the U.S.. It bothers me that someone has hijacked his cartoon title. Search Amazon.com for the above title and see what you find. Lot's of reference to rural homosexuality and nothing about a man who made tremendous, although subtle and too deep for most people, comment about the human condition.

This book is a refreshing and engrossing look at the real lives of canadina queers. Touching and poingnaint, this book traces the authours trip accross Canada interviewing a variety of gay men and lesbians accross the country. A masterpiece.
