ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST ROMANCE NOVELS I HAVE EVER READ!
I read this entire book in one sitting. It was a great novel and I look forward to reading something new by this author. Her writing is unique, her stories are captivating, and very addictive. I wish she would write more books. I have looked for other books by her beside the ones that are listed on your page, because I have read all of them except Acts of Passion. I enjoyed all of her books. Ms. Riker where ever you are, please come out of hibernation and write more exciting and entertaining novels. I think you are one of the most unique romance writer out there.

Perfect and wonderful
I am glad I found this book from a dusted used book shop. It's so perfect that I read it from start to end, you never guess what's the next step it progress. An excellent story-teller.

Great Reading!
I read this book last summer and it was great. I have been searching for another book by this author. Having experienced someone going to Vietnam is all seemed real.

Just one of those things
This is the first book I have read by Leigh Riker. I loved it! I have added her to my favorite author list. The story was very true to life. This modern day romance really kept me reading... I never wanted to put it down. I have two more books by Leigh and am looking forward to finding the others (which are out of print).

Another RDI Disappointment
I seem to be 0-for-2 in the Red Dress Ink Department lately. STRAPLESS by Leigh Riker is one of the worst RDI books in their arsenal of great, good and mediocre chick-lit novels.

STRAPLESS is the story of Darcie Baxter, almost 30, living in New Jersey with her wild grandmother and working in Manhattan at a lingerie company called "Wunderthings". She ends up being chosen to launch a new store in Australia. Before Darcie leaves to Australia, she finds out her lover Merrick is married, and she is heartbroken. Darcie and her boss Walter take off to Australia to scout a location for the new Wunderthings store. Darcie meets a gorgeous Australian named Dylan her first night in town, takes him up to her room and seduces him, they fall in love, but Darcie must return to New York since her and Walter found a location for the new store. Darcie is constantly thinking about Dylan, who doesn't call her for quite some time. Darcie's coworker Greta manages to wreck some havoc at work, and Darcie decides, after her grandmother gets a boyfriend half her age, to move out of the condo, and into her own apartment in Manhattan. Darcie soon has three guys in her court - add in her new upstairs neighbor who climbed through her window one night to her Australian hunk and her married lover.

STRAPLESS is more trashy Jackie Collins than chick-lit. The sex scenes are graphic and detailed, and are outof place in your standard chick lit novel. Another thorn in this book is the endless details about Darcie's PMS, which she seems to constantly have. And we hear detail after detail after detail of her troubles. Yawn, and yuck. STRAPLESS is also a mess in other areas - the story line shifts so abruptly from one situation to another that you are left a little confused. There is subplot after subplot - good luck keeping up on them. If you want raunchy, badly written chick-lit, this is the book for you. But for a well written RDI book, check out FISHBOWL or SEE JANE DATE.

Smart, Ambitious Woman seeks Smart, Modern Novel
If you're looking for a book about an empowered woman getting ahead in the world while keeping her love life in check, do NOT pick up this book. Not only was it frustrating every time the main character referred to herself by her full name, but the entire book could have been narrowed down to 2 pages. The relationships between characters were flimsy and narrator's point of view shifted unnecessarily. Let the knight in shining armor go rescue a character in a Judith McNaught book. I'm looking for a book about a woman who can rescue herself.

Not the best RDI book...
I've been religiously reading the Red Dress Ink series and have been pretty satisfied...until now. Strapless is a whole different type, in disguise as chick lit, but really it's just another Harlequin bodice ripper with a snazzy cover. Definitely on the bottom of the pile for me.

Strapless tells the story of almost-30 Darcie Baxter, who lives with her grandmother and evil cat, works at a popular lingerie company, Wunderthings, and spends every Monday evening having a meaningless rendezvous with Merrick Lowell in a Hyatt hotel room. Darcie also spends a lot of time trying to avert the snooping co-worker, Greta, in an effort to win a promotion. And once she does, Darcie is sent off to Australia to scout locations for Wunderthings's new store. But Darcie does more than that -- she meets Dylan Rafferty, Aussie sheepherder, and falls head over heels, despite the fact that he is stuck in a time warp when it comes to women.

As for the story, I didn't hate it, but it was disappointing as far as what I've come to expect from Red Dress Ink. I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes at the hokey dialogue, especially from the 82-year-old grandmother and her overexhausted libido. As for the writing talent of Leigh Riker, I'm not going to complain about it. It was perfectly fine for the genre that she specializes in -- strictly romance -- it just did not have a place in the chick lit field. If she had developed the characters a little better, making us, the audience, care about them PRIOR to them jumping into bed together, then I think this reading experience would have been much more enjoyable.
