Excellent practical book. How to deal with overnight slumber
parties, good table manners, how to behave in class, who pays on
dates, how to avoid arguments with family members, what to do if
you embarrass yourself, how to open up conversations, etc. I wish I'd had this book when I was 14! It would have made such a difference. It answers the questions I was too afraid to ask.
A wonderful gift from any caring adult to any young adult. Simply arranged, nice drawings, not too cumbersome or preachy.
Many adults could benefit from this too!

Dr. Richey has put together a wonderful collection of thoughts and quotes which can and should be used by anyone who facilitates, or participates in, meetings. The phrases are organized by topic and are easy to draw upon when you'd like to emphasize a point, create a laugh, or cause a group to go, "Hmm...". I like to use them in all the meetings I facilitate for our company.

This is the best Steelhead book I have ever read. Although some of the equipment we use today is a little more advanced, Dave Richey does not hold back! He provides you with information on how to fish for the elusive Steelhead, from fly fishing to baitcasting. Lures, drifting, using eggs, curing eggs, yarn and more! I have had super success because of this book. You will definately want this in your library. It will be worth the wait for Amazon.Com to find this out of print book for you!

I'm very glad I found this at the library before ordering it. This book is essentially a bunch of commercials for companies whose products the author uses and/or which are owned by his hunting buddies (e.g., the section on blackpowder which is one big ad for rifles made by pal Tony Knight) interspersed with yarn after yarn which relate ad nauseam what a deadeye Richey is in a ground blind or treestand. I understand that an instructor has to establish his credibility AND illustrate that his lessons work, but the me-great-hunter stuff gets old in a hurry. If you were to cull the useful information out of this book of stories, it would amount to about two type-written pages.

This Lyons Press edition is also a retread. The work was originally published in 1986 by Outdoor Life Books as Hunting Fringeland Deer. That was a much more accurate title; I'm afraid this one isn't the "Ultimate Guide" to anything. See any of the Greg Miller books instead.
