This book is very enjoyable for everyone including Shannon Miller fans because it can teach you alot about being mentally tough, eating healthy, and having fun at a sport that you like. It also teaches you how to handle the ways things are in life. Her tips are so excellent.

a GREAT book by Shannon Miller!
Shannon wrote a very inspiring and motivating book for young adults. She talk about her gymnastics career as well as her personal thoughts. She gives great advice for things such as motivation, eating healthy, discipline, setting goals, having faith, and more! She gives positive advice for a happy, healthy life! There are lots of pictures and even diary entries in this book. This is my favorite book and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too! Way to go Shannon on a GREAT job done!

Awsome
This book is a must for Shannon Miller Fans. I really enjoyed reading the Diary entrys and the Pictures were the Best. Hearing Shannon's opinions on Everything from her regular life to her Gymnastics career is what makes this book so special. Un like other books written by gymnasts its not a book just about her accomplishments in Gymnastics.

Riding for My Life
This is a heart-breaking story about a jockey who made her way to the top, only to nearly be killed when falling of during a race. I recomend this book for any reader.

Truly a GREAT book
I found this book while trying to get an interesting biography about a famous woman athlete for a project I had to do. Because I am fond of horses, it was my good luck that this autobiography of the famous jockey, Julie Krone, came up in my path. With the help of Nancy Ann Richardson, Julie Krone has been able to capture her younger years and early racing experiences and give them an interesting twist. Even when it turned out that I didn't need to do the project, I felt that the book had been a worthwhile investment. I greatly enjoyed it and highly recommend it for it's interesting and real-life quality.

Best Of The Best
This book is truly the best of the best. I've re-read it probably over seven times, yet I still get that feeling of astonishment at how Julie was able to become a racing hero. She went from the extreme bottom of horse racing to the top. After reading this book and watching her race. Julie is now my idle, my hero. She has inspired me to become a successful jockey. I, because of her, feel that I am going to be the first female jockey to win the triple crown. Everyone, remember my first name, Carly, for you'll be hearing of it a lot in a couple of years. Julie, I thank you and Nancy for writing such an extraordinary book, and for giving me the encouraggement through this book to live up to my full potential.

I'll give it a 9.
Karolyi does a good job of writing his life story and his long career in gymnastics. It is an interesting viewpoint from a gymnastics coach. After reading Little Girls in Pretty Boxes (by Joan Ryan) one often feels cynical toward gymnastics coaching methods, especially Karolyi's. However, this book helps one see his side of the story. He talks about the training of young gymnasts, the unfair politics in the sport, as well as the difficulties of living in a Communist country and later as an American immigrant. It's too bad it only goes through the 1992 Olympics and does not include the Atlanta games.

The book well reflects Karolyi's powerful personality, and has an interesting voice. The title is definitely appropriate.

Bela is the BEST!
Bela Karolyi is such a inspirational man to take what little he had and make winners. I had the advantage of meeting this man this summer. He seems like a father figure with strong discipline and a positive effort. I always loved it when he 'You can Do it! " Which is all so true when you use your body in a positive way in the sport of gymnastics or any other sport.

This is one of the GREATEST gymnastics books EVER written!
It tells the entire story of Bela Karolyi's life and it tells the stories of the many famous gymnasts he has coached. The book makes you appreciate this man more than anything else could! I read it before I met him at Karolyi's camp and it made it THAT MUCH better!!

A sickening read
I`m sure no reader will rate this review as helpful - negative reviews are never appreciated. But this is a very boring read, and makes the stabbing out to be the only remarkable event in Seles` life. There is plenty of wallowing in selfpity. Understandable about the stabbing, but the objections to her grunting, deaths of people in her life and every other bridge she has ever crossed in her life are written in meticulous detail so the reader is left in no doubt about what a hard life Seles has had.

I used to like Monica Seles before I read this book, but this nauseating read made me think otherwise. It is deservedly out of print.

a must read for all Monica's and tennis fans
I think Monica is the coolest tennis player of all time, with two fisted forehand and backhand, hitting the ball like cannon and always goes for the lines no matter she is leading or behind. From this book, you had a chance to know the other side of Monica. She is gracious, humane and always willing to give. She is just a great champion on and off the court. In contrast, you can also see the personalities of many top players. They are selfish and never showed symathy for Monica's tragedy . I learnt a lot from the book and understand why Monica was voted as the Sanex Hero of the year.

Great bio
This is the best biography I have ever read! This is a MUST READ for all Monica Seles fans!

Fair
Lyric's World is Yavin 8, which is inhabited by many dangerous creatures. It's a place where Anakin, Tahiri, and their new friend Lyric have a few adventures. However, I only gave it 2 stars because the children make less progress in their assignment than I had hoped. Although some some exciting adventures do happen (you've got to read the book to know what I mean), they don't seem to come too much closer to their goal: solving the Golden Globe.

Great for kids who love Star Wars
This book was my favorite in the Junior Jedi Knights series. I love the Melodies! The idea of a planet where kids rule is sooo cool! However, I don't think Luke should have let Anakin and Tahiri go on a dangerous trip like that with only Peckum to watch out for them, and even he is conveniently gotten rid of as soon as they land. Luke should have at least sent a Jedi with them. But then, part of why I love this book is because the kids are on their own protecting themselves, so what am I complaining about? One thing I wondered about was what ever happened to Sannah? She is never mentioned again in any other book, and I rather liked her character. I would recommend this book to any Star Wars fan, but kids twelve and under would probably enjoy it best. When I first read this at age ten I thought it was the best book I had ever read, and even now I still enjoy reading this series.

This book was the best I've read.
I loved this book and I want it to have five stars.

Anakin, Junior Jedi...
This was one of the first Star Wars books I read - I read the Jedi Academy trilogy before - Anakin Solo was fast becoming my favourite Star Wars character, along with his brother and sister.
This isn't the best book in the Junior Jedi Knights series, but it's a good introduction to the characters. Sometimes Anakin seems a little out of character, but most of the time his actions are justified, and besides - this book was written before Anakin's character had been established elsewhere. These books are about Anakin, and they're here to establish him.
Because of this whole series, Anakin is definitely my favourite character. I'm just a little annoyed at a certain event in Star by Star, an NJO book - but hey, what can we do? ^_^

Great start to a new series
The Golden Globe is a great start to a new series. It has a couple of flaws in it. But what do you expect when there are so many Star Wars books being printed all the time. It's hard to keep up with Star Wars history. But this book is a great way to introduce Anakin to his own series. I'm glad they did it.

This was a great book!!
I first read this book and the rest of the series when I was ten or eleven, and I thought they were the best books I had ever read. And since then I have rarely read a book that has captured me in quite the same way. The writing was great, and very discriptive and the characters were well developed. This book was also the first introduction I had to the expanded Star Wars universe, and I thought it explained very well about Anakin and Han and Leia and everyone without to many complicated explanations. I've recently gone back and read these again, and while not quite as gripping as before, they're still great books, though best for children twelve and under.
