learning from the best...
this book is awsome. Joe Montana, probably one of the greatest QBs ever shares his tips and secrets with the readers. Montana discusses everything from certain exercises to do, how to gain more accuracy, what's kinds of defenses there are, how you should grip the football, the different passing patters, and how he used to prepare during the week for an up and coming game. he goes through his mental preparation and what he's thinking in the first quarter, the second quarter, the adjustments at the half, the third, and then the 4th quarter.
Montana also preaches unity and team. he never places himself above his teamates and always credits the people around him for his success. his offensive line, his running backs, coaches, wide recievers, and his parents.

good book for any kid interested in becoming a QB or for anyone who just needs a little inspiration.

Montana is the maestro
Joe Montana gives fans of all ages the complete package of quarterbacking. He breaks down every little detail associated with the position. This should be the right hand textbook for anyone wanting to play QB. A beautiful photo gallery is depicted in each chapter.

Joe knows of what he writes!
I'm admittedly certifiably crazy about football, the San Fransisco 49ers and Joe Montana. But even discounting those facts, this is one of THE best books ever written on football. Joe really KNOWS football and he and his co-writer really allow you to get INTO his head from a position underneath the center and indeed, from positions all over the field. The diagrams and Joe's explanations of all the intricacies of the game are more than worth the cost of the book, even for veteran watchers of the game. Joe is not only knowledgeable, but gracious and humorous! Having been lucky enough to talk with Joe more than once I can guarantee the truth of those three adjectives to describe him. This book was SO good I sent a copy to my friends in Germany who are also 49er fans (one really LIKES diagrams and one really LIKES Jerry Rice!) I sincerely hope Joe writes MORE books in future. Odysseus International Gay Travel Planner 16th edition
The new 16th edition of Odysseus International Gay Travel Guide is filled with great vacation ideas for gay travelers in the USA and some 120 countries worldwide. The guide is up-to-date, reliable with accurate descriptions, photo and contact information. It is very easy to make international travel plans with Odysseus. I cannot imagine getting my travel plans right without it.

Book Description
Odysseus is a wonderful guide for gay men who plan to travel abroad. The book lists select accommodations, bars, restaurants, saunas, sex shops, and other businesses and places of interest (including some public cruising areas), and there are handy maps for many major cities (like Amsterdam, Florence, and Sydney) and gay resort areas (like South Beach and Provincetown). Additionally, Odysseus is an excellent source to find "facts in brief" about foreign destinations, including each country's official language, population, unit of currency and exchange rate, telephone codes, and laws and attitudes regarding homosexuality. There are several useful indexes, including a listing of gay travel agents and of local gay publications from around the world. The book features a good amount of advertising for gay hotels and other businesses, and there is a smattering of hunk photos interspersed among the listings. Odysseus Enterprises, the publisher, also operates a worldwide reservations systems and can handle travel arrangements to many of the places in the book.

Odysseus 98/99 review
"...The Odysseus guide is easy to read, maps are simply drawn giving access to the data, and country descriptions are concise and informative. In fact the whole construction of Odysseus is a well packaged and manageable guide book..." Our World Magazine NOV.'98

Fantastic
Winnowill is at her worst and Rayek is shockingly (almost endearingly) vulnerable as the target of her latest manipulation. So our arrogant SharpDark Highthing desires not only power beyond his wildest dreams, he wants to be loved...

True to the original quest, the book is packed with dramatics: the reunion of Dewshine and Scouter, Two-Edge's confrontation with Clearbrook, Tyldak being noble, a last minute rescue from a soul-brother, Leetah grappling with Cutter's mortality, elfin homocide, and the final destruction of Blue Mountain.

Of course, its always refreshing when an under-exposed character finally gets his chance to save the day. Go Dart! AOOOOYAAAH! ^_~ My only quarrel is with Aroree, who has been reduced to a powerless, doe-eyed victim whose only hobby seems to be stalking Skywise.

Great book
Fantastic pictures. Tells of how the wolfriders escape from Blue Mountain(again)and more.

Uncovers a lot of hidden secrets of Two-Edge, and of Willow.
This book is great, because it uncovers the truth about Two-Edg's birth and childhood. Also it gives more description on how Winllow used to be, before she became evil. For the first time you se what Two-Edg's father looked like. I rcomend this book to big Elf Quest fans every where.

A fantasy, science-fiction, gothic, adventure told like no o
The world of Steampunk is an intoxicating realm of good and and evil redone in a fine new fashion. From artwork to story Steampunk reigns as one of the most under appreciated works in the comic world, with twists and turns, hereos and villians unlike anything you've seen or would expect. This work makes a great addition to any fans collection, an outstanding read and experience.

The Heavy Novel of Comics, but Worth It!
The artwork in this book has only one word to describe it: Stunning. Each page is rendered masterfully by the visionary that is Chris Bachalo. The story is amazing, but it is not as easy to read as your typical book. It takes time and thought to make sense of story because there is so much on each page. While this may hinder the simple reader's enjoyment, it makes the plot so much deeper and fuels a growing respect for the creators who deserve so much more respect in the industry than they currently receive.

Fantastic!
This is a thought porvoking series designed to make you think and guaranteed to entertain. Be warned it's not for everyone but this highly original volume containing issues 1 thru 5 is definately worth the effort. Check it out if you want engaging original comics fiction. Steer clear if you just want the same old comics spoon fed to you on a platter.

Joe Miller The Ordinary Joe
Joe, my best freind and the guy I chose to miss a day of work to walk with him and his wife Guinn every week in Golden Gate Park. More than this, he inspired Shambhala Publications and was the silent Guru to many practicioners, setting them straight, during the sprititural shopping era of the 60's and 70's. He practiced meditation in the 1930's in San Fransicos's China Town, a lone Westener, and lived a life of a Bodhisattva and Guru until his death. He did this with no thought of gain or without ever promoting himself. His favorite saying was " Give Love with no thought of return". He practiced and taught this daily. Not with words only, but through his being. The people he worked with are many and some are famous, but that is not the point, His ordinary-ness "is", and it is captured in this book.

a true saint
i used to walk in golden gate park with Joe. This book captures his essence and the power of his teaching. He was a remarkable hidden homegrown saint in america. If you want to taste a bit of his teaching then read this book. It can change your life.

Hive and Go Seek
Everyone has a little bug problem or two during the summer. Ants in the kitchen, wasps in the picnic, they are all part of the grand scheme of things. Ancient creatures trying to get on in a world full of Raid-bearing humans. It only figures, though, that if Buffy were going to have an infestation problem they would be larger than life and twice as nasty. Welcome to the summer of Buffy's fourth season.

Buffy has already had one confrontation with these bad news bugs during the term. She and Riley barely managed to stop the infestation and they thought they had solved the problem. But, that was then, and this is now. When the ghost of a vagrant killed by a vampire puts Riley into a coma, Buffy is back on her own, and worried to distraction. While she desperately tries to hunt down the cause of the ghosts anger the bugs show up - right in the middle of Giles date with a beautiful librarian. Giles loses and Rebecca the cataloger disappears.

Now both Buffy and Giles are at their wits end. Fortunately, the rest of the gang is there to pitch in. Even Spike tries to do his part. Tara and Willow find out that the insects are Urukhai, cheerfully bent on the conquest of the earth. Even as the magical duo start to work on supernatural insecticide, it is obvious that the team is in for a tough struggle. To or three really bad vampires are one thing, but thousands of superbugs the size of Volkswagens is an entirely different challenge.

This is the perfect summer graphic comic. Lots of fiend bashing, suspense, and, if you count Giles, even some romance. Fassbender and Pascoe once again turn out a potboiler, and Richards and Pimentel get it down beautifully on glossy paper. Now you can worry about things that go 'chitter' in the night.

Wow! An eye opener!
After reading "Albion's Seed" in a Colonial American course, and this book "Chicano Psychology," I see know why White/Anglos in this country act the way they do!
It answered my questions about why there is so much bias and racisim.

A Good First Pass At A Difficult Subject
I agree with those reviewers who have praised this as a good read. But it is no more than a "war story," and would have benefited from better editing and been more widely and profitably read as a magazine article. To deserve a book, the author should have reflected on the wisdom of the law which he practices, not only on behalf of plaintiffs but defendants as well. Why should those over 40 deserve the same protection as those who suffer racial, gender, or handicap discrimination? All of us grow old, and while that may not be fair and may affect each of us in different ways, can we as a society want or afford to be swamped with litigation and all its attendant stress and cost to argue the issue in a myriad of cases? Should the next generation be put on hold in the meanwhile? Perhaps the only lesson of this book is that Head Coach Davie must not have worn a helmet in his playing days. Otherwise, he would never have made any reference to age, but fired the plaintiff without explanation, or by simply saying that he wanted to hire his own coaching assistants.

...Bob Davie ...
... Coach Moore is a simple and straightforward man who was thrown under the bus by his friend Davie after Davie maneuvered his former head coach Lou Holtz in front of that same bus. The reader learns of Davie's scandal ridden past and how the University looked the other way and even used its power to fight Coach Moore despite being totally in the wrong. ... An enlightening look at the dark side of an egomaniac...and an instiutution...that backed him.

The true story of a volatile lawsuit
Personal Foul: Coach Joe Moore vs. The University Of Notre Dame by Richard Lieberman is the true story of a volatile lawsuit that coach Joe Moore filed against the University of Notre Dame for age discrimination. From this suit came evidence of pervasive unethical conduct in a university football program that had formerly been given the highest regard. Commanding the reader's full attention, Personal Foul is a compelling and revealing exposé into the tangled and often dark complexity of human nature in general, and college football in particular. Highly recommended reading for college football fans in general, and University of Notre Dame alumni in particular.

Even Slayers Make Mistakes
This trade paperback presents a serial story that originally appeared in issues 21 through 25 of the BTVS comics. Officially it occurs at the end of the third season, but is more of a bridge into season four, presenting Buffy as a new freshman in college, desperately trying to balance the pressures of real scholastic work with her night job - slaying. When an old, scary legend of 'Mad Jack' comes back to life, Buffy over-reacts and kills the first suspect demon without a thorough investigation. The result is a major crisis when it turns out that Mad Jack was just the guardian over something much worse.

Originally released during the Roman conquest of Carthage, Ky-Laag is major badness. He was only brought under control at that time by the wiles of Vraka, another demon, who led a cult called 'The Blood of Carthage.' Several thousand years later Buffy has let the rabbit out of the hate, and Vraka heads for Sunnydale to try to stop Ky-Laag and, in his spare time, kill the offending slayer. Buffy feels the same way about Vraka, but, if they don't work something out, they will be dead and the rest of us will be worshipping Ky-Laag.

One of the other key story arcs is Willow's need for emancipation from a Xander who still treats her like a childhood sidekick. As a young woman with significant magical and intellectual skills this has become more than a little irritating. In a series of flashbacks we see the developing relationship between the two as children. One in which Xander often took the lead. The other piece of history is a series of pieces about Vraka and reason for his bad feelings towards Spike. It should be no surprise that these do not paint the vampire with a chip in his head in a very good light.

One has to think of 'The Blood of Carthage' as more than a trade paperback rehashing the contents of a series of comic books. The story itself is larger than its media, and the trade paperback or graphic novel suits it best. Part of this is due to the efforts of Christopher Golden as writer, and the rest is due to editor Scott Allie's decision to deviate from the story telling style in the previous comic series - 'Bad Blood.' This is not intended to be a criticism of Andi Watson's rambling nine-issue series. Instead, Allie decided it was time for a change of pace and then turned to Golden, a proven Buffy novelist, to implement the idea.

Golden's story line is structured much like a novel, with a focused major story arc and rising levels of complexity and intensity. To break up the pacing a bit we are treated with flashbacks to Willow's childhood with Xander and Spike's first encounter with Vraka. Another thing that makes this series special is the carefully managed creative artwork. While Cliff Richards is the artist for the main story, Chynna Clugston-Major and the team of Paul Lee and Brian Horton each get one of the flashback series. This is cleverly orchestrated to provide different moods and contexts. The art really is excellent, and a separate article on what went into it is included in this volume.

If you have been wondering which trade paperback to buy first, this should be high on your list.

Xander and Willow flashbacks. . .a great trade!
I think this trade has issues 21-25 of the series, I can't be sure but the info I got is from the Dark Horse comics website. The issues aren't sectioned in the trade (the blood of carthage), they run together to form a really good story with rather good artwork. We even get to see Xander and Willow as kids! Its a good stand alone trade, I really recommend it. Spike and Dru make an appearance and Giles makes scones! The coolest thing about the trade is the Xander/Willow storyline because it really examines their relationship and who is the sidekick (or not). Christopher Golden is a great Buffy writer, I suggest you pick this one up.

A bloody good read
The only problem with this excellent graphic novel is that it isn't a full length book. A plot so complex and characters so rich they deserve 300 pages. Christopher Golden never disappoints.

The art work is exciting and colorful. I think the actors are well drawn. Their voices are true.

Set in the fourth season, Buffy is at college. The pressures weigh heavy on her slayer duties. When she kills the wrong demon all Hell breaks loose which forces deadly enemies to work together. I recommend this to all Buffy fans
