No sane person reads about INCO terms for fun, and if your work requires that you understand the details of international quotes & shipping then this is a required reference work. The author, who sat on the international drafting committee, is perhaps as knowledgable on this subject as any American. He also teaches an excellent seminar on the subject.

After I first read Mr. Reynold's predecessor book on Incoterms I felt I finally understood this technical topic. The new book, fully revised for Incoterms 2000, follows the same format. Each chapter is devoted to one of the 13 Incoterms so it can be easily digested. Each chapter contains an easy to read scenario of how the Incoterm may be used in a real international trade transaction and how it affects all other phases of the transaction including the ability or inability to collect payment.

The most valuable feature is the ending section of each chapter, entitled "American Perspective." It discusses how Americans should or should not use this particular term, or at least be aware of any caution flags.

Incoterms for Americans is a valuable commentary on an important topic.

Before I bought "Exploring Medical Language" I knew absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing about Medical Terminology.
And to tell you the truth, when I first opened this huge, intimidating, monster of a book, It scared... me... I mean, wouldn't "rhabdomyosarcoma" or "esophagogastroduodenoscopy"
frighten you (just a bit) I thought, nooooo way.

But I opened it, read it, did the cool excersises, listen the the audio tapes, played a bit with the CD-R.

She begins at the beginning.....Little baby steps.

All of a sudden... I was like, I get it! I really get it!
Not only that, but I was beginning to enjoy it.

The prefix, suffix, and word roots suddenely become beautiful, flowing words that make sense.
Myrna LaFleur Brooks made this book come alive, interesting, and allowed medical language to become a little bit like music.

I'm currently using this book as a supplemental text for my paramedic training. We've just finished cardiology, and I couldn't have done it without this text. I already owned Phalen, Dubin, and Huff; all are good, but the Huszar text is now the one I go to first when I have a question about ECG's. There are a multitude of practical illustrations, tables, and review questions. Best of all is the 200-and-some strips for practice in the appendix. Highly recommend!!

A tapestry of well told tales, WHIMS TWISTS and FANCIES is for me the ultimate compendium of assorted short stories that etches itself into the top ten. The character of Gramma in 'The Invitation' will not soon be forgotten. The loneliness of an old man in 'Another Year,' waiting in vain for a family visit, is a moving portrayal. I laughed aloud at the antics of the gentleman saddled with an unwanted date in "An Ethical Easement,' and the moral in 'Flaherty's Flute' set me pondering over another solution. All the stories are crisply told, the style is pleasing, and the total enjoyment is thoroughly satisfying.

This is a textbook-type of book in the good sense of the term: it is well-written, information-packed, but yet relatively simply portrayed. A good introduction to the major religions of Asia. The focus is on the texts of each religion. What is missing is more discussion on how various elements of the population (underclass, women, etc.) incorporate the textual-based religous practices described in the text. Would have to look elsewhere for such a discussion.

Textbook format with interesting highlights of the world's major religions. Not as focused on doctrine as Huston Smith, but indicates the cultural impact and use of these eastern and western religions. Good reference tool.
