Two Party System????
One only needs to thumb through this book to notice how many photos there are a former president Clinton and v.p. Gore! I counted atleast 15 before I became sick! There are even photos from his earlier years! I realise that this book was published in 2000, but, come on. This is a text book used in the public education system... there certainly something subconscious (brainwashing) about this layout and design in the book and I resent it!
I especially liked the chapter on the two party sytem where there is an illustration of the two parties..a picture displayed of the Democratic Convention (bold clinton banners)and a small animated picture of an elephant representing the Republican party.
I am offended that this book is let into our school system. Although the context "may" be accurate (my stomach needs some rest before I read it), there is no doubt in my mind that this insertion was more than a mere oversight. This book covers 250 years of history, there is no justifiable reason that Clinton/Gore should appear in every chapter of this text!
