Being a writer myself, I probably tend to look at the books I read with more of an analytical eye than the average reader. I was quite impressed with Chi Kung Master, Luk Chun Bond's The First 16 Secrets Of Chi, Feng Shui for the Human Body, so much so that I would give it a 5 star rating. It contains a wealth of information and even includes a diet chapter, yet it is neither boring nor technical. The personal information on Master Bond is quite fascinating and his instructions on how the exercises are done are exceptionally clear and well illustrated as they are shown in the sitting position as well as standing so that even handicapped individuals can learn the exercises. It is well organized and even indexes specific ailments, telling which exercises target them.

Chi Kung is a very beneficial form of exercise for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. It teaches proper breathing techniques, increases strength, and improves balance and flexibility.

Master Bond encourages everyone to do his or her best, moving only the pain-free range of motion. He explains the purpose of each exercise movement and how it promotes a healthy lifestyle. In his book, "The First 16 Secrets of Chi", Master Bond includes an extensive list of ailments and conditions, which exercises will be optimal for their healing, easy to follow instructions on how to perform them, and detailed illustrations of those exercises. During practice sessions he provides modifications for those who are incapable of performing the exercises that are being demonstrated.

Not only are there physical benefits to Chi Kung, but there are mental and emotional benefits as well. It helps to calm and focus your mind, it enhances your sense of well being, and the social atmosphere helps to develop close friendships. Even though classes may be as large as 100 participants, each person can still get personal attention and assistance.

I feel that Chi Kung has had such a positive effect on my life, that I can honestly say that I will continue practicing it for the rest of my life.

I joined Master Bond's Chi Kung class because of my chronic high blood pressure. I do my chi kung exercises every morning for an hour.
Last year, my 3 visits to my internist, pressure was 138/76, 128/76 & 132/78. My pressure is great now; thanks to chi kung.
There's a book "The First 16 Secrets of Chi" by Master Bond. This book has illustrations of Master Bond doing different exercises for different ailments.
There's also the Green Diet Section. In the green diet they say to eat more yin and nuetral food to balance the yang foods. There's a list of yin, yang and neutral foods.
I recommend this book to all. It's a must read book.

As a SSR Master Teacher, I've been using this manual for my own Sekhem/Seichim/Reiki practice. The atunements in the back of the book are especially powerful and filled with love. For anyone interested in energy work, I would consider this required reading. Even if you have never been exposed to Reiki before and are interested in learning more about it from one of the best teachers out there (she attuned the woman who attuned me), this is a great book for novices as well as seasoned professionals.

When I opened the book and began to read about Seicheim, an Energy System I have been looking for more information on, I was delighted with the material. I felt it was well written, straight forward and very helpful for practitioners and anyone who is interested in Seichiem. It was as if I were in a class with Diane. I feel that anyone who is interested in working with energy will find the book very helpful. I do not know Diane and I have never taken a class with her or Patrick Zigler, but I am looking forward to taking a class from her very soon. Enjoy, the book is a Jewel.

What a magically scientifical book !

Master Choa's book, ADVANCED PRANIC HEALING, is a first-rate reference source for any healer doing highly specific color energy healing work. This book is ideal for advanced healers who are comfortable and experienced with doing healings and discerning a wide variety of energy conditions in people. While basic healing techniques are clearly described in the beginning, the majority of this book presumes a fair amount of experience and proficiency with color healings on the part of the reader. Those just starting out with color healing may still find this book useful, as it clearly describes what healers see and feel as they are doing pranic healings.

I am impressed with the breadth and depth of conditions described in this book along with their associated treatments. Everything from migraine headaches, inner ear infections, torn tendons, dislocations, to internal wounds, cataracts, kidney stones and deafness are discussed in detail. Recommendations on color density (lightness or darkness) as well as energization are given with explanations which I found illuminating and intriguing. Master Choa's experience with prana is evident throughout this beautifully written and illustrated book, leaving readers feeling inspired and well-informed. This book's index is clearly organized, so the healer can look up recommended treatments until such time as the underlying logic of it all sinks in (such as avoiding use of orange healing energies around peoples' heads, and paying attention to which way one's fingers are pointing).

Even though I mostly utilize universal healing energies, such as Reiki, I still find ADVANCED PRANIC HEALING immensely useful for its insights into what kinds of frequencies are best suited for various ailments. I recommend this book for anyone doing color healings, as well as those wishing to catch an intimate and revealing glimpse of the healer's world.

In the six years that I have been a professional pranic healer and certified psychotherapist, I have found myself almost always coming back to this book no matter how much I have learnt along the way. Theres always something there that can better a healing session, and the author's absolutely stunning command of the healing world is certainly awe-inspiring.

When I first attended the healing sessions conducted by Choa Kok Sui in Southern India, I had no idea it was to be one of the core foundations for the rest of my life. Admittedly, the basic healing practices can be learnt by anyone willing to open up to the novelty of the system, but I have found that the advanced healing systems, all mentioned in this book, are mastered only though repeated practice. The key word to being a successful healer is practice, practice and more practice. I often find myself self-healing through the day if theres no one to practice on, and believe me, it is the best way to develop the powers of visualization and intent, which are crucial to being a good pranic healer.

I am glad that America is slowly awaking to the wonder of pranic healing. While reiki healing has been here for a while, from my own learning I have found it to be a somewhat poor cousin to pranic healing simply because the cleaning process in pranic healing is much more elaborate and thorough. At the moment, my current patient suffers from a spinal problem that he has had since birth, and I was rather apprehensive about the number of healings I would have to perform before results showed themselves. In general, I find that the Western patients I have treated are more desirous of fast results than my Eastern counterparts, and in this case it was a stroke of good fortune all around when the patient seemed especially sensitive and open to the healing session. The wonder of pranic healing is when the patient sometimes expresses a physical reaction to the invisible process within minutes, making me believe that this system is not 'spiritual' as many insist, but rather a very down to earth and practical form of healing that human beings all around the world should show more interest in.

The great thing about this book is how it has been divided into parts exactly like an Occidental medical manual. This makes it so easy for a healer to pinpoint the ailment he wishes to treat, and for him to master the treatment beforehand. I have healed persons with kidney stones, my mother's chronic headache problems, my dad's bad back, and a whole bunch of friends and acquaintances. Very vital to pranic healing, and the books will also confirm this, is the necessity of meditation. I cannot stress enough how much this affects one's healing capabilities. Being a student of raja yoga, I find that any sort of meditation based on the Eastern systems (be it raja, kriya, or hatha, though I would highly recommend an inert form of meditation over active processes such as hatha yoga) helps immensely. Choa Kok Sui, who wrote this book, says that the meditation on twin hearts is the most beneficial, and it is well worth sticking to his advice.

For anyone who is remotely interested in pranic healing, I highly recommend this manual. If you are already a basic pranic healer, you HAVE to get this one! The next step after this level of pranic healing, is the healing with crystals, and I hope that ... soon carries that one as well. All these books are indispensable. Spread the word.

Advanced Pranic Healing: Practical Handbook For Healing With Color Energies presents basic instructions for beginners who want to learn the technique of Pranic Healing. Master Choa Kok Sui is a Filipino-Chinese who has spent more than 20 years researching and experimenting with the wise use of subtle energy. He is also the founder of the Institute of Inner Studies and the World Pranic Foundation. In Advanced Pranic Healing, Master Choa clearly and concise explains his use of the eleven basic chakras, color prana, and preventive healing techniques. He also shares information about advanced Pranic treatments, including specific treatments for various ailments including gastrointestinal, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, skeletal, muscular, tumor, cancer, and blood disorders. Advanced Pranic Healing is a very highly recommended and accessible reference for students of alternative medicine, metaphysics, and Pranic Healing.

Alternative Medicine Magazine in the July 2001 issue calls Quantum-Touch, "... a significant breakthrough in hands-on healing." They go on to say that "...for professionals and lay people alike, Quantum-Touch is an essential and invaluable tool."

Dr. C. Norman Shealy, Founding President of the American Holistic Medical Association calls Quantum-Touch, "... the first technique that may truly allow us all to become healers." He also wrote the foreword to this book after he became impressed that Quantum-Touch provided dramatic and lasting pain relief to his patients with 20 to 30 years of chronic pain, who had not been helped by any traditional or alternative modality.

Amazingly, you can actually learn to use Quantum-Touch from just reading the book, but if you get the chance, I highly recommend attending a Quantum-Touch workshop.

Quantum-Touch really resonated with me - I have studied many healing modalities from Reiki to Lomi-Lomi and found Quantum-Touch to be the most powerful yet easiest way to understand and practice hands on healing. Quantum-Touch is fun to read, and de-mystifies hands on healing by describing pratical ways to work with life-force energy. The Quantum-Touch video is fantastic as well. I used the techniques on my Dad who had a lung infection for the past 8 years. After a few hours of Quantum-Touch, his infection was 95% clearer and is still clear a month later. I've seen lots of other awesome results as well : "healing" bruised ribs, eliminating sciatica pain, releiving all sorts of pain, bringing down bunions, etc. etc. The fun part about this work is that anyone can learn it; my friends who have learned QT have had great results as well.

As a nurse-healer, I am always studying the dynamic and often mysterious process of energy-based healing. When I read Quantum-Touch, I knew I had discovered an important key to the process of accessing and directing the subtle energy which we healers use. I quickly put the information into action and feel as if the quality of my healing work has taken a quantum leap. The book is a true joy to read, never complicated, down to earth. I loved this book and after reading it cover to cover, I went out and bought 4 copies to give to my closest friends. I am now rereading it. Richard Gordon is a deeply developed healer with the ability to communicate the process of energy (life-force) science in a beautiful style. I recommend this book to anyone who has interest in developing the art and science of hands on healing.

I am not a practitioner of Reiki but a client. As a client, I know that no book can ethically claim to be a "how to" book. Formal training is required. But if you are interested in receiving Reiki treatments, this book will help you feel even more relaxed about the process. Plus it gives wonderful background information for those who wish to pursue training in this area. I've glanced at several Reiki books and this is one of the best. So read, enjoy, and open up to the wonderful possibilities of Reiki!

This book is very good for those people who want to know what is Reiki and its origins. Be aware though, that this book doesn't show how to apply a Reiki treatment since you have to receive the healing ability from Reiki Masters. Nevertheless, the information it carries is invaluable.

This book was my introduction to the world of this beautiful gift of the universe. It piqued my interest in this field of alternative mecidine. An easy read, which spurred me on to find a teacher. That was 4 years ago. If you have an interest in learning the basics of what this is all about, buy it!!! If you want to explore the possibilities in your life, buy it!!! If you are just plain curious as to what this Reiki is all about, buy it!!!

Described as Advanced it means exactly that. But, most chapters in the series of 9 CDs are easy to follow and really don't need too much previous spiritual reading. The material reveals what the listener is ready to hear no matter the stage of a person's inner development. Listen to chapters that appeal most to you. And when they appeal to you. You will be sure to learn something you've never heard before, gain new perspective you've never had before. And if you were to listen to the lessons again at another time, you will be sure to still pick up new insight only because your own experiences and spiritual maturity add to the experience of listening to this series.

This is probably the best tape series I have ever listened to. The information is excellent and Caroline Myss' perspectives are very thought-provoking and enlightening. Her readers reap the benefits of her research and life experiences. I highly recommend this work.

This series is even better then the first Energy Anatomy Program.
It covers the archetypes and how they relate to our way of living. It will awaken your soul to realize alot you didn't know about yourself. Once you understand the Chakra system and archetypes, which Caroline explains, you will begin reviewing your life and see where you need to make adjustments to live a fuller life. I highly recommend this series. Caroline Myss is Brilliant and a woman who is obviously on a mission to help awaken society to the endless possiblilies and power we hold within ourselves. Our power is immeasurable. It's our responsibility to go claim it.

If you want to understand more about Qi and spiritual aspects, I strongly recommend Falun Gong. That is the high level choice, and the healing effect is obvious, although in the Falun Gong Books the author emphasized why people should not intentionally seeking to healing.

It is estimated that 100 million Chinese people go to practice Falun Gong after trying many different Qi Gongs in the past 20 years (before the persecution in China happened).

As a teacher of the Chinese martial, health and healing arts, I read this book with great interst. The intention of the author of this book is to support readers in accessing a life-transforming experience by learning about taiji and qigong. It provides foundation material, detailed sets of tools and methods of qi cultivation, and information on the latest science of qi and explorations of the deeper meaning of tai ji. The information has been carefully selected from the diverse body of Chinese knowledge and tradition and distilled into a user-friendly bridge to taiji and qigong for a wide audience. At first, I related to this book lightly and let others that had a more flamboyant approach to the subject of Tai Chi and Qigong capture my interest. But then there came a moment when The Healing Promise of Qi took over to become a permanent feature of my reading life now for many months. With little mystery and great charm Roger Jahnke explains the Qigong way of solving some of the greatest mysteries of them all - how to joyfully unburden ourselves of emotional baggage and trauma and physical, mental and emotional disharmony in order to allow the wonders of life to express healing energy within us. All this he does admirably with little ego and much compassion. The insights in this book are many as so are its blessings. My heartfelt thanks to the writer for his truly wonderful gift.
