Outstanding Gift for Girl or Boy
This book is packed with useful info - including fun websites. It also is not a you-must-succeed-by-18 book. Most of us happen upon careers and have limited ideas of careers and no knowledge of how to relate our childhood interests to adult pursuits. This book is a thoughtful way to show children 10-13 that what they now do and enjoy in school can be something they continue to do and to enjoy in their working years.

Practical support with the right amount theory.
This book gave me the nudge I needed to do some very productive writing and processing. There is just enough theory to help me understand what is happening in my grieving without getting too complicated. The Energy Management Model is such a simple and powerful tool! The suggested writing topics and activities offer a wide range to choose from. I found this a comforting, respectful and empowering experience. Thank you Dr. Reeves!

Career Ideas for Kids Who Like Writing
My mom was helping me find books to help me decide a career and we found this book. It helped me a lot! I learned about being an editor, writer, journalist, and many more. It has a great test to help you decide what you really like to do. I definitely recommend this book to any other kids, and also adults, that like to write.

Hollywood Kryptonite: The Bulldog, the Lady, and the Death of Superman
Published in Hardcover by St. Martin's Press (1996)
Authors: Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger
Amazon base price: $21.95
Used price: $14.00

Hollywood Kraptonite is more like it--- says Jimmy Olsen!
I have taken a keen interest in the life and death of George Reeves, and have read quite a bit on the subject. These authors are spreading around alot of manure in the subtle hope that somethig beautiful will grow. When interviewed about the book Jack Larson, who played cub reporter Jimmy Olsen in the series, actually referred to the tome as Hollywood Kraptonite. While the book does paint a vivid picture of Hollywood in the 1950's, the conclusions drawn simply are not supported by the evidence. The simple truth of the matter is no one will ever know what really happened the evening of June 16, 1959. The principals are all dead, and the evidence destroyed. If the reader takes that into account and treats the book as a fictional account of Reeves' death, it is a quick read.

A fascinating look at Hollywood's underbelly in the 1950s
A real page-turner. Even if you remain skeptical of the authors' conclusion, HOLLYWOOD KRYPTONITE is a fascinating look at everything you never knew about the entertainment industry during the 1950s. Schoenberger and Kashner present Reeves as a hard-drinking, deeply troubled man, a far cry from the embodiment of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" that he portrayed on THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN. Read this book and you'll never think of your childhood heroes the same way again

Hollywood Kryptonite keeps you prisoner until the end
Born the year Superman died, I still grew up watching George Reeves save the world. I picked up the book not because I was especially interested in the story but because of the slick cover (raised on "Sesame Street", colors are an intricate part of my literary existance). It's a helluva book. The reconstructed story of everyone's favorite hero is gripping and heartbreaking. From his bright beginnings in "Gone With The Wind" to the grim realization he would never play anyone but Superman, not even himself, you will be possessed by this sad story. His childhood, controlling mother, absent father, domineering mistresses, and twisting life paths were told in a fascinating and novel-style manner. I kept hoping for more concrete documentation regarding Reeves' death, but the compelling details which do exist insure you will never again think of The Man Of Steel as a suicide victim, but perhaps instead a true victim. Read this book!
