best dog story I ever read
Bill is a truly exceptional story. Jessica is a wonderful, believable and original heroine. Her plights are realistic. The relationship between her and her dog Bill will touch the heart of anyone who loves animals and knows those relationships are as special as any human ones. The book has much humor; one does not need to be afraid to read it just because it's a dog story and may be sad. It is the best!

The Silent Killer
The Silent Killer

When a teacher is killed, Mote, the main character is a prime suspect blamed for the murder. Mote has to figure out who killed the teacher fast before he gets sent off to jail. Chris Miller, Motes friend is also helping Mote on the murder case trying to solve this mystery murder with him. He helps Mote look for clues along with two other policemen. While finding the clues they all have to find out who killed the teacher. To find out how or if they find this silent and unheard of killer read this book.
I liked this book a lot because it had good derails and it had good characters in the story. The mystery was solved at the right point and it was a good mystery for this book. The suspense level in this book was good and it kept me reading it for a longer time than I would of another book.
A lot of other books were like this one in many ways. The mystery is the same in a book called 'Pretend You Don't See Her.' The mystery in that book was like the mystery in 'Mote.' This book was a good book and it relates to a lot of other books as well.

The Peaceful Killer
In this story, Chris is trying to find a way to make sure his friend Mote doesn't go to jail for a crime that he doesn't commit. Chris tells mote about a teacher that was giving him trouble at school. Within a few days, Chris's is killed and mote is named the prime suspect. Now Chris, with the help of his friend Billy and a police cop, have to prove Mote's innocence before the teal killer gets away.
This is a wonderful book. I was very pleased with the author's ability to keep the readers interest while still being able to continue with the plot. During many depressing times in the book, the author Chap Reaver is able to provide some humor for the reader. There are many small stories within the book to help describe the main characters. The display of friendship between Chris and Mote is amazing. Chris is able to risk his life during the book because of his friendship with Mote. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling book to read with humor and great examples of friendship.

Some books just really stand out in a person's mind...
I read this book when I was in seventh grade. I'm now a freshman in college, and I still think about MOTE quite frequently. There was something about the character of Chris that really appealed to me. I could easily relate to him, even though the story was so unusual... Chap Reaver adds a lot of humor to this novel, too. The chapter that I remember most is the one where Chris's tennis coach is discussing jock straps with him. A book has never made me laugh that hard! I truly loved MOTE and wish that it was still in print -- I would love to have my own copy of it.
