Excellent book
This is a very complete book on GPRS. It is both technical and gives also very quickly a good overview of the system.
Implementation issues have been addresses.
A very rare GOOD book on GPRS. No hesitation to buy it.

LD from Nokia

Complete book
Complete book that gives a good vision of the global GPRS system and that, for once, helps to get in the technical details of the standard.

Galois Cohomology
Published in Hardcover by Springer Verlag (1997)
Authors: Jean Pierre Serre and Patrick Ion
Amazon base price: $64.95
Used price: $150.00
Average review score:

Never miss the source!
The book begins with an introduction to the theory of Profinite groups and their cohomology. This is an important issue as one has to know that Galois cohomology is the same as Etale cohomolgy of a point. This introduction to Profinite group is very short and would not cause you to get bored. Next, cohomological dimension of fields has been introduced with a detailed considerations on low dimensional cases, which is in turn very much in sprit of non-commutative algebra and would be re-considered in an appendix to chapter II about non-abelian Galois cohomology.
Book is very well written and full of interesting results, albeit for trivial reasons the proofs are not given so often.

Attractive coffee table book...
This is an attractive coffee table book. It is not as informative as I had hoped, though. The text is poorly written and just doesn't get into the depth I was looking for.

Great Book!
I laughed, I cried, I made cheese

This is a magnificant narritive of fascinating porportion.
Bernard Nanet, such a wonderful author. His book is so wonderfully told that it took all my self restraint to keep from eating the pages. His story telling skills are unmatched. The only person I know who knew half as much about cheese was my father who used to work on a dairy farm and he still didn't know as much as Bernard Nanet. This book completely blew me away. It is phenomenal.

To the Rescue!: Talking Toy Tales

My 18 month old son LOVED this book!
Kids who like to interact with the books they are "reading" will like this story. Beware, however, it is a noisy book and you may get tired of hearing the fire truck say "go go" a dozen times an hour. It helped my son to learn about different rescue vechicles and their sounds. It is a durable book and the colors and characters are lively.

Jules and Jim
In the beginning this book seems as if it will be interesting, or scandalous, or something, but it quickly proves to be an endless series of repetititive vignettes about the two title characters and their innumerable attempts to find love, or passion, or a reason to live, or something. The second half of the book is centered mainly on Jim's long affair with Kate, Jules' wife. Jules completely approves of and even facilitates their relationship, so there's really no conflict there. The conflict comes from their innumerable break ups and reconciliations. When I say innumerable, I mean it. After a point I found myself not really caring whether they stayed together or not, but just praying for the relationship to be resolved one way or another so that the descriptions of their silly, melodramatic fights would end. The book is kind of interesting in terms of its style and its commentary on social and moral values in early 20th century Europe, but overall I found it a bit of a bore.
