Wonderful!
This book was so cool! I was in suspense from beginning to end! I kept putting it down because i was afraid to finish it but sooner or later i had to because i couldn't wait another moment! This book put me in a transe that was hard to break out of. It was beautifully written, witty, and just kept you wondering what was going to happen next! If you havn't read this book you should!

What a great book
This book kept me in suspence all of the time by how each character was going to react. My favorite part was when T.J. In the road kissing Jack for the first time. The author made all of the characters sound like they were real people who she just described there hair, eyes, and even there personality.

The Review on Love Potion
I've just finished reading Love Potion today. I think it's one of the best books I've read. A lot of books I read didn't keep me in suspense, but this one did. I think that Janet Quin-Harkin did a good job on this book.

I just loved it how Amber and Rich went through so much change in the last 2 years or so..and they ended up together..it just shows that love is stronger then all..if i couldn't have i would have rated this book a 10 insted of just a 5.

Wonderful
Out of all the book's I've read this one is my favorite. It made me realize even though they are many miles away they can still stay true to eachother and love eachother. This books them is defenetly Love conquers all. Great book. Everyone has to read it.

I loved this book and I couldn't put it down.
This book is the conclusion of a recent book in the Love Stories series. I have bought at least most of the series and I love all the books. This book tells how some people can survive a long-distance relationship and when you are away from the person that you love you get suspicious of them.

Awesome!
When I was reading this book, it made me so mad because of some of the things the Flamingo's do to Stephanie and her friends. But, Stephanie and her friends finally get the ultimate revenge! I couldn't put this book down! I recommend this book to any girl!

Everyone can relate to this wonderful novel.
Stephanie, Allie, and Darcy have all been best friends since the sixth grade. They all have finally turned 14 and are now allowed at the community pool without an adult. While at the pool, the three friends meet two other girls their age. Kayla and Anna. Together they have formed a little kids camp called Club Stephanie. They meet with the kids for four hours each weekday. The Flamingoes, a group of tough older girls who have dedicated their life to getting revenge on Stephanie and wearing all pink all the time, had tried to start their own summer camp, but it flopped. Now they want revenge even more. Stephanie got this great idea to have a summer dance to raise money to keep the community pool open and the Flamingoes called the newspaper and said it was their idea. Stephnie had been going out with one of the lifeguards and Rene like him too, so she decided to get him from Stephanie no matter what. Stephanie had written Rick, the lifguard, a note to tell him how she felt about him and put it in his backpack. Rene switched it for a phony one that she wrote that said Stephanie thought he was a bad kisser. Rick avoided Stephanie for a while, but then they finally about what Rene had done. Rick and Stephanie went to the dance-a-thon together and finally got back at the Flamingoes because Anna hooked up the sterio system to the girls change room and so everyone heard Rene talking about how the dance-a-thon. She said the dance-a-thon wasn't really her idea so everyone knew it was Stephanie's idea. The Flamingoes were finally put in their place and Stephanie and Rick danced the full five hours of the dance-a-thon and made over two hundred dollars for the pool. Also a father of one of the kids from Club Stephanie donated ten thousand dollars. The pool was going to stay for good and Stephanie was a hero. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read.

a young adult novel that will make you laugh and cry
I first read "The Great Boy Chase" when I was about nine years old and I always made sure I have a copy with me at all times. I'm right now on my third copy because people borrow it and conveniently forget to return it. This is a story about two best friends, Jill Gardener and Toni Redmond, who went to Europe after high school. Actually, Toni wanted to go after a French exchange student (hence the title) and manipulated Jill to go with her. Jill in turn meets a handsome and charming Italian named Carlo, and the whole thing messes with her mind because she got a boyfriend back in Seattle. The book is just full of hilarious escapades and tugs at your heartstrings at the same time. This is a great book for the young and the young-at-heart.

loved it!
i really liked this book. in the book jill gardner goes over seas to france to spend the summer with her best friend and she meets an italian boy there and falls in love with him . she has a boyfriend back home but she is really liking carlo(the italian boy). she has to make a big decision on which one she will choose

I still remember!
This book was so amazing, exciting, and impactful for me as a young child that I still remember it today! I'm heading off to college and was recalling favourite memories of my childhood -- this book is one of them. Although the title had slipped my mind, I remembered the plot and the great illustrations.

The title is comical, and as I recall, the events in the book were as well -- it was light-hearted and fun, but you also had a sense of satisfaction after finishing the story: a pleasant story that parents can enjoy reading to their children.
It's too bad this book is no longer in print; it's really a treasure! :-)

This is an amazing, exciting book for kids.
It is a shame books like this are no longer in print. Septimus Bean and His Amazing Machine is a truly excellent childrens book. The story is written in poetic narrative with tons of onomatopoeia and rhythmic imagery. The illustations capture the memorable moments with a vividness like water colors. I had this book memorized by the time I was 4 years old. To me it is a classic.

The references to the 80s made me laugh
After 15 years I am currently on a search to recover the Sweet Dreams series for my 3 girls to experience. I just read 101 Ways To Meet Mr. Right by Janet Quin-Harkin and found it as delightful as I remembered it.

A sophomore named Darcy decides to write a term paper on how to meet guys and enlists her 2 best friends to help her. After a few mishaps and a make-over Darcy discovers that she has a crush on her brothers best friend of all people!! Not sure he feels the same way she tries to push the thought of him out of her head but finds it hard because he's always around.

I thought this story was really good and funny to read at times. The book dated itself with references of Matt Dillon and Lionel Richie as well as feather haircuts and 80s style clothing. *hehehe* A very good read.

Sweetly Romantic
This book manages to capture the spirt behind teen love as well as show exactly how difficult and uncertain life can be when your young and "in-love".

Extraordinary!
This remarkable book is sure to leave youre head in the clouds-day dreaming. Why can't I have a deliciously cute and (actually) caring guy kissing the ground I walk on, but still keeping his pride? Amber Stevens is a (I have to say) spoiled brat. Her life in NY is finaly coming together and one of the most popular guy is interested in her and they really hit it off. Then her parents spring a surprising plan to move to Wyoming to restore their family. She's sick with anger and keeps a grudge against Wyopming and everyone in it. There isn't even a movie theater in and hours range! Her dad and her agree on a deal that if Amber is still miserable in a year then she will be allowed to move back to NY. Wyoming is a completely different atmosphere from her once busy city life. Everyone's values here are so much deeper and Amber turns in her snotty spoiled city girl attitude for a sweet and funny personality she knew was always underneath everything. Then she meets rugged Rich Winter who helps her out with chores and they begin to fall in love. . . I can't begin to tell you how you will be hopping up and down in your seat with excitement over this superb book. Lookin' for a good book that you will read over and over again like I have? Yes, then this is defiantly the right book for you. Sweet Dreams. . .

Don't Ya Just Wish
Hey everyone. I named my review "dont ya just wish" Because "the Boy Next Door" story was the kind that you wish happened to you. Or at least i did. This stroy is by far my favorite and the 2ed part "Torn Apart" is great too. The story is about a girl named Amber who moves from New York(by me) to Wyoming(my best guy friend). Its a great book because it's like Amber really finds something in a place where she thought there was nothing. When i was reading this book i couldnt put it down... So give it a try its a great book! Oh and after you read this one read "torn Apart (#38~love stories series) its the 2ed part and its great. And hey Janet Quin-Harkins, if your out there and you read this, i think that you should write some more stories about Amber and Rich! :) Ok well bye all!

A Light, Fun Read!
These "Love Stories" books are sort of a guilty pleasure of mine. They take about two hours to read, which is perfect for a lazy weekend, and they're nothing too heavy. The plots are usually pretty interesting, and this one is no exception... In fact, it's probably one of the best in the series.

Kai and Kirsten are skaters. Kirsten dreams of the Olympics; Kai is only doing figures to keep himself "in shape" from an "injury" until he can go back to his "real sport," hockey. Kai is obnoxious at first, but (of course) that means that Kirsten will fall in love with him.

The aspect of this book that most grabbed me was the use of first person narrative. Some of the books in the "Love Stories" series are in the third person, which gets to be a bit unbelievable in parts. But this story was told from Kirsten's point of view, in her voice, which made it easier to "get into" and really enjoy, without all of the crappy adult romance "Kirsten felt a rush of warmth in her hand when Kai touched her..." sort of junk. Since the book is labeled for young adults, it's a bit more realistic.

My only problem with the book was the character development of Kirsten's boyfriend, Troy. I just felt like he was more of a "stock" character, and I don't think a girl as smart as Kirsten would go for him and then later go for Kai. Whatever, it's still a good, fun book.

Awsome book
This book is one of my favorite book... once you get started you won't be able to stop...at least I couldn't. take my word for it and buy it!!!!

Amazing!
For anyone who thinks that teen love is a joke needs to readthis book. It will keep you on your toes all throughout the story andyou won't be able to put it down. Kristen Hayes is the talentedskater who gets a new coach and then he flushes her olympic dream of her winning the gold down the drain. The only way he said she'll ever make it to the olympics is if she pair skates and who else would be her partner but the obnoxious and big-headed Kai Bergstrom. This book will leave you smiling and happy and then wishing you were an olympic skater with a handsome and mysterious partner too! END

Watch out Golding!
While not as explosive as "Friend or Flamingo," this first novel in the Club Stephanie series explores social incongruities in post-Cold War San Francisico. Wrapped around a bare bones Steinbeck-like narrative detailing the struggles of setting up a summer camp for neighborhood children, the book moves at such a blistering pace that it's easy to miss Quin-Harkin and Taaffe's subtle nuances. Indeed, their scope of intertextual references ranging from Chaucer to Pete Townshend fix the battle between the two groups on a wider social level, foreshadowing the LA riots and Atlanta Olympics.

The influence of William Golding is not lost on the authors either. Indeed, her paradise is all too easily corrupted. Stephanie emerges in the novel as a flawed heroine, whose victories depend upon her ability to arrive at universal truths. All the while, she remains engaging and entertaining to the reader.

While my love of the series leads me to award a 5 star rating to this book, my mixed feelings on the dualistic ending put it at 4 stars. The ending definitely raises more questions than it answers, leaving many a reader, myself included, feeling somewhat unsatisfied.

Cute
This book is cute. I now read more mature books, like Sweet Valley University, since I'm a teenager and all. But I remember when I read Full House books. The good ole Club Stephanie. It's cute and funny how every summer they always end up with the Flamingoes, and the same routine. The Flamingoes play tricks on them, they fight over the guys, etc. This book is great and really gives you the feeling of young summer love.

A great book from beggining to end
This book is really exciting and is good for people at 9 upwards but if you were looking for something serious and fun this is the right book for you.It contains alot of laughter and shocking things but it is still a really good book.
