I can't believe it's not re-published
I won't do Mr Quick the injustice of comparing him to anyone else in the Sci-Fi world. He truly stands alone. His books are somewhat hard to come by but may be republished in the future. If you like Niven, Pournelle or Stephenson you'll love all of Quicks work.

Read All Of His
If you like Gibson's work, well here is where he copied his ideas from. Well written and good technology. Read them all.

QUICK Reference Bible Whopper
A great book to keep at hand. I've had it for years and everywhere I'm at and using it, people want to know all about it. Everyone is fascinated about the abundance of information the hand sized book contains.

I have some larger books in my library but when I need information I generally find it first or quicker in Nelson's QUICK Reference Bible Dictionary.ISBN 0-8407-6906-7

Thank You

fast, fun cyberpunk read
I read this as a paperback, not an e-book. It was fast-paced and imaginative. I always liked the back cover which called the author's work, "the daydreams" of W.T. Quick.

Quantity vs Quality
A good all around beginner's guide, touching an about every subject from the Internet to HTML, from copyrights to vanity publishing. That's why there are 49 chapters with some only 2 pages long. But there are many references to additional information when something peaks your interest and you want to learn more.

If you are at all knowledgeable about on-line communications, websites, HTML and domain names it will be very rudimentary. But if you use it as a reference book, using the index and then looking up the URLs and book references cited, it's a good guide.

All Aboard the Ebook Express.
Curtis & Quick have presented a valuable service to authors who would like to get published on the ww web. They add as many warnings as they do hype the hopes for new authors. Although many people have lost their shirts betting on the growth of e-shopping, the authors cover all the bases for playing in this arena. ...

They add a list of all the internet sites that an author could hope to visit in his or her quest for publication. Their advice to open a personal web site and publicize it, for example, by adding a link in your four line e-mail signature is excellent. Very little is left out, for example, anyone can download the free Acrobat eBook Reader. Precise html web pages of many ebook publishers are supplied (even if these pages change the reader should be able to locate the new page). Regardless of how soon the info becomes outdated this is a five star effort.

At Last an Explanation for the Layman!
How To Get Your e-book Published is a needed resource for writers who are considering the technology "plunge". Knowing the ins and out of e-publishing is essential, and an important area about which we writers should be savvy. This is a good reference and teaching manual.

Star Control: Interbellum
What the hell was Quick thinking?!?!?! It's an okay book, but he got a lot of things wrong. First of all, the Illwrath are loathsome, hellish, worshipping spiders! Not little toy soldiers. And the Mycon aren't sentient. If Quick writes another book about SC, he better play the game first.

James Fraser from saskatoon
Interbellum is an okay read, but my brother who reviewed it here gives it way too much credit. I just finished it for the second time, and it is a fun read because i'm such a fanatic about the game, however to anyone familiar with the star control universe, which I have been for 10 years, it is truly pitiful. I enjoyed it because it's so silly, the aliens in this book are nothing like they are in the game. What in the hell was W.T Quick thinking when he wrote this book? I wonder if he has ever in his life actually played any of the star control games in the entire trilogy. The Ilwrath are supposed to be an evil torturesome race who think of nothing but torturing other species as sacrifices to their vile gods of death and destruction, but W.T Quick has them as these stupid toy soldiers, acting like something from the movie small soldiers. The Ur-Quan's mycon servant, who isn't supposed to be sentient, is cowardly and talks and thinks like a person without any of the nonsensical rambling featured in the game. I enjoy reading this book because it's so funny. I've never read anything like it. The author understands absolutely nothing about star control whatsoever.

Interbellum is okay
I read the book and enjoyed it somewhat, but that is just because I have been a huge star control fan for many years. However, I found the Ilwrath just plain silly, and the Mycon servant isn't even supposed to be sentient. The book is quite readable, but for anyone who has never played the star control series, I would say it would be quite impossible to know what is going on. I enjoyed the book, and look forward to the next, but I hope it will resemble the game much more clearly, Jem was an interesting character, and the Ur-quan was excellent, but overall, Interbellum was just too disorganized.

More cyberpunk
I've been trying to go through whatever anybody says is cyberpunk and have come across some horrible books. This one isn't half bad. It's got some good twists and the ending is something unexpected. If you like cyberpunk novels I'd add this to your list.
