the best
I may buy this because I collect comics and I need to know how much they are worth

A Great way to Price Your Old Comics
Written and assembled by the team of writers and editors who used to publish the magazine Comic Values Monthy (as well as Triton, and Toy Values Monthly). This guide offers sections on each of the major comicbook companies, as well as Golden Age Comics, smaller Color and B&W publishers. Very well put together, they have been issuing this guide since 1994.

Comics Values 2000 is a great help
I am new at selling comic books a task you can say was "left to me". I have a large inventory of underground comics and it was a great pleasure to find a section on the subject in this book. I refer to it every day.

A tribute to heroes!
I picked up this book simply because I was interested in pricing my comicbook collection. Imagine my surprise when I read the wonderful editorial on heroes (both real-world, and the four-color kind) as well as the moving tribute to those heroes of the 9/11 tragedy. I highly recomend this book to everyone!

New and Improved!
If you are looking for a great price guide to price out your comicbook collection, then this is the book for you! Fair, realistic pricing, and fine editorial content as well

An excellent upgrade to an excellent price guide
As always, the Team of Malloy, Wells, and Sodaro bring sanity and clarity to the multi-tiered world of comicbook prices. This guide has consistently ranked as one of the best price guides on the market. Malloy truly has a handle on what stuff is truly worth. This edition is especially relevant in the post 9/11 world, as it contains a pair of stirring tributes to "Heroes" (both the four-color and the real-world kind). I heartily recommend this book

A Price Guide for the Rest of Us!
Now this is what I call a Price Guide. One that takes a realist look at what comicbooks are truly sellling for in today's marketplace.
I also recommend Malloy's American Games: Comprehensive Collector's Guide, and Robert J. Sodaro's Kiddie Meal Collectibles (on which Malloy is a contributor).

The Best Comicbook Price List on the Market
If you are looking for realistic, buying and/selling prices on your comicbook collection (or on comics you are wishing to purchase), then this is the price guide for you. Malloy has a solid handle on the pricing structure of the industry, and his prices are very much in line with what is going on in the marketplace. Rather than pricing comics as what he wishes they were priced, Malloy goes the extra mile to learn what they are being priced at across the country. Also, you might want to check out his board game prices in American Games: Comprehensive Collector's Guide, or his fast food toy prices in Kiddie Meal Collectibles.

Attention Lovecraftian Horror Fans
This is the eleventh book in Chaosium's Cthulhu Cycle series. This volume features tales of Lovecraft's most well-known creation, the octopus-headed entity, Cthulhu. Included are the foundational stories (i.e. "The Call Of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft and "The Black Island" by August W. Derleth), some rare reprints (i.e. "Some Notes Concerning A Green Box" by Alan Dean Foster) and some interesting new stories of Cthulhu in the modern world (i.e. "Rude Awakening" by Will Murray). In any collection the stories are of varied quality but I enoyed the majority of the works collected. If you are a reader of Lovecraft's Mythos fiction then this is a must for your library.

Interesting and informative
I picked up this book because I see so much of this furniture in antique shops and I wanted to be able to distinguish it from other periods. Although I've never been particularly interested in this period, I found this book to be quite interesting.

The book explains the history of the furniture and its development, with lots of anecdotes along the way. Through the many color photographs, you will learn how to spot specific types of furniture and get a better idea of which company might have manufactured a specific piece.

One of the topics addressed early in the book is the use of veneer. The authors explain that 'veneer' doesn't have to be a dirty word and that even the ancient Egyptians used a form of it. There is a section devoted to the repairing and replacing of veneer. They also provide detailed explanations for such terms as 'burl' and 'pollarding.' They explain the differences between better- and lesser-quality ('borax') furniture, and a pricelist (1999 values) is also included.

An Excellent Book for the collector
I enjoyed this book and think many collectors of Fast food toys would appreciate the depth of coverage of the many collectible restaurant toys out there. Has an accurate price guide which is always nice since myself as a collector and collectible store owner can't always seem to find prices for some of the more obscure toys out there. I will recommend to my customers who I sell to and buy from. Great photos and overall a worthy book to add to the collector of hard to find toys and items from the too many fast food chains. I enjoyed it and think many collectors will too.

Know a collector? BUy him/her this book
My brother is a collector of these fast food toys, has been for years. Now that I've bought him this guide, He'll be able to look up the stuff in his collection, and see how much it is worth. This book also talks about how to look for bargains, and tells some of the backgrounds of the various fast food places. I just know that he'll get hours of fun out of this book.

Local citizen makes good
I first read about Mr. Sodaro's book in my local newspaper (The Hour, Norwalk, CT), and found his concept for a book to be facinating. I later heard him speak on the topic of fast food toys and (of course), his book, at a couple of events in the area, and determined to seek out the book and purchase a copy for myself. Sure enough, it proved to be every bit as interesting as Mr. Sodaro was in person. While I am a collector of toys and such, I really had never given much thought to fast food giveaways as legitimate toy items until I heard Mr. Sodaro speak, and then read his book. Very informative. I recommend it to anyone who collects toys, or has eaten at a fast food location.

Clean pictures
It's a big book but it can be bigger. Some sections are too small, like cels and others. It is still very good guide and full of high quality pictures. Introduction is great! If you are a Simpsons collector then you have to own this.

A Book that really touches the collector emotionally !
What a great book! Robert used pictures and prose to capture the spirit of Simpson collecting. Although I have a lot of the items he featured in his book, the ones I don't have I want even more! It is worth a slow and careful read, over and over again.

A virtual smorgasbord of Simpson memorabilia.
If there is anything that has been released about "The Simpsons" it is safe to say it can be found here. Getz takes an in-depth look at merchandise from the earliest days of the show to the more recent items. Particularly useful are his sections on "The Simpsons" comic books and trading cards. However, other areas are not neglected. If you have always wanted to see "Simpsons" items from around the world then here is your opportunity. This is a much needed book well worth its price.

Formulas are in Metastock
Add 2 stars if you don't care that the formulas are in Metastock shorthand, NOT in straightforward mathematical terms. I'm a programmer, looking for a book with the straight formulas for technical indicators. Here's what it says on the book, as quoted by amazon: "Simple, intuitive, easy-to-understand, and precisely defined formulas". Sounds great, so I buy it. NOWHERE does it mention that these formulas are in Metastock shorthand, which is NOT decipherable without Metastock, so I returned it. The book is very good at explaining the use of these indicators, but I'm very disappointed in the misleading marketing of the publishers and amazon.

The Encyclopedia of Technical Market Indicators
The best technical analysis and indicator encyclopedia. Comprehensive, best refernce. The only book yoy will ever need. Not a dictionary of indicator, complete analysis and trading models explained.

Absolutely, essential reading
Before you pick and apply any technical indicator into your market analysis just check, how does it rank in today's market.
I enjoyed the second edition very much . It helped me to
update my technical indicators' arsenal and provided a new
insight into the world of technical analysis.

Mauser Military Rifles of the World
Published in Hardcover by Krause Publications (1900)
Author: Robert W. D. Ball
Amazon base price: $39.95
Used price: $28.25
Average review score:

Avoid This Superficial Book
This book is only slightly better than worthless. Even the most superficial internet search on the subject of Mauser rifles gives far more detail for any given model. The average ad placed by people looking to sell their Mausers gives more information than this book. Several of the photos are mislabeled and many are too blurred to help at all. The only thing you really get from this book is a list of models and the countries that used them. Don't waste your money like I did.

best general mauser rifle reference in print
This book is perhaps the best general reference on Mauser military rifles in print. The book is divided alphabetically by country to allow you to quickly find information about the rifle you are looking for. There are black and white pictures of many of the rifles mentioned, as well as several full-color sections.
Because of the wide range of Mausers covered, descriptions and information on each rifle is short and brief.
This book is a must for any and every Mauser collector and enthusiast.

Mauser Collector's bible
This book was written to give the collector an overall review of all models and countries where the Mauser military rifles were used. A short history of the countries and of each individual model gives the researcher a fine source of information. Based on the chapter covering my own country (Brazil), I can say that Mr. Ball has made a very good job in writting this book. It is not a book to read from the beginning to the end, but a research source in which you will find a good amount of information before you buy a rifle or to help you catalog your already purchased one. It has helped me a lot (Brazil, alone, has 13 different models!).
