Great BOOK - Great INTERVIEW
I read this great book and couldn't wait to interview at least one of the authors. The timing of this book couldn't be better because we need something to restore our faith in True Leaders.

This book was so well written that I felt like I really got to know 25 of the best business leaders; the only thing better would be to have interviewed them myself.

I did interview George Ritcheske on "The Inside Success Show" and and what a treat that was. His book is powerful because he took the time to really discover the secrets of True Leaders - You'll love it!
Here's some of what you'll learn from the book:
** Why you should aim toward becoming a 'True Leader'
** What you can do right now to make people respect you
** How you can avoid the BIG mistakes of BAD leaders
** Why you should lead with passion and trust your intuition
** How you can succeed by treating learning like 'dirty dishes'
** And much, much more ...

Author of "Success Bound" and editor of "Proactive Success" ezine

Learn from success stories!
Instead of the usual single sided text written by an individual corporate leader on what a wonderful contribution to America they have made, this book explores the commonalities of many successful leaders in and out of the corporate world. Readers will find the writing style to be easy to read and easy to learn from with the "Explore and Discover" section at the end of each chapter. The length is long enough to get an solid overview of the concepts presented, yet short enough to keep the reader anxiously turning pages.

Kudos to authors Bette Price and George Ritcheske for presenting a fresh approach on the leadership topic!

Can't put it down!
This is a wonderful book that anyone who wants to lead should read. It is also a great read for those who want to understand the strengths and weaknesses of management within their own company.

A Must Read For African Americans In The New Millennium
This book was an awesome read. Fraser was focused and expected nothing but the best from himself and others. He recognized the role that race plays in our society; however, he refused to allow it to limit his personal or business life. He offered insight on how to succeed as a minority in corporate America by encouraging and promoting racial pride, self-help, and self-development. This book will encourage anyone, however it should be required reading for all minorities. In spite of all of life's challenges, including the color of my skin, the author inspired me to push, dig, fight, and expect to win this game called life.

Don't hesitate-buy this book immediately
This book is tremendous. It actually exceeded my expectations. This is one of those rare times when a book lived up to it's hype. I have already read certain parts over again. It serves as a constant source of inspiration. It g ives you an opportunity to focus on the areas of interest to YOU. My favorite sections is the contact information in the back of the book, and the seven morals and principles of success.

Unusually POWERFUL and UNIQUE
"Race For Success" is the fuel necessary to participate in this marathon called "Life." An unsually powerful and unique combination of sound principles, historical perspective, motivation, knowledge and resources, the book is a true call to action. It is a tool for personal growth, economic empowerment, community revitalization, and much, much, more.

Sinister Serials of Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney, Jr.

If you're wearing a hat, hold on!!!
Because Mr. Kohl will blow you away!!!! This is a fine book. The research is impeccable. The photos are sublime. Kudos to the author!!! I saw Mr. Kohl give the commencement address at the University of Chicago and the crowd was mesmerized. Most likely, because he hadn't been invited by the school to give it.

Thumbs up for a fine job
Leonard Kohl's first book is a fine effort, a splendid purchase for any fan of the big three horror icons who made serials. It is loaded with interesting facts. Where else could you discover that silent comedy star Harry Langdon almost co-starred with Lugosi in THE WHISPERING SHADOW. The book is chock full of rare photos, and they are a genuine treat. Fans of Charle Chan would be happy to find rare photos of Warner Oland from silent serials. This volume is a recommended purchase. As an author myself, I can see the hard work and dedication that went ito this volume.

A great read, and handy reference, for movie buffs
Kudos to Kohl, who has done a fine job in presenting an informative, and always fair-handed, look at a fascinating period in movie-making. This is clearly the product of pains-taking research, resulting in a heaping-helping of historical data, elucidating testimonials, with a rich array of pictures to boot. No true fan of "the screamsome threesome"--Karloff, Lugosi, and Chaney--and the too-often overlooked serials gentre, should miss this.

The Theory of Price
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (a Pearson Education company) (18 May, 1987)
Author: George J. Stigler
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

The Only Microeconomics Text You Will Ever Need
Having been an advisor to transition economies on transforming their tax systems to assist in the move to a market economy, I can unequivocally state that this book is the clearest explanation of why individuals and firms benefit from the freedom of the market. As one of my good friends from the London School of Economics says, 'Stigler is light on math but heavy on economics.'

An Absolute Masterpiece
I totally agree with the gentleperson from Brazil.

The traditional heart of academic economics is about how relative prices are determined: the theory of the household, of the business firm, and of how the two interact via markets. This is the best exposition there is of that traditional heart. (The only other book to which it can be compared is McCloskey's "The Applied Theory of Price", regrettably also out of print.)

Stigler was also one of the best scholars ever on the history of economic ideas, resulting in this book's many delightful detours. Finally, he was a masterful and witty writer. If Churchill had been an economist, he would have written something like the Theory of Price.

Classical is classical
It is amazing how this book is still valuable and such a few people know that. This is a book which every undergraduate student of Economics (actually every economist) should know, because it is pretty well written and it gives all the basic intuition for Microeconomics in a very good humour style - something I thought hardly possible in this field. It starts with the consumer theory and then goes through the firm theory. Many things we learn from Varian and Pindyck and Rubinfeld is there. I recommend this book mainly because you can learn very difficult things having fun, and the level of formality is very appropriate even for those who do not have a first year calculus (the tough stuff is in the appendix). I regret not to have known this book before.

This Book is a Collectable all by itself!
Josef Originals were figurines from my childhood and are a wonderful collectable to pass down through generations. This well illustrated book will delight any Josef collector. It begins with a short written history and jumps into many pages of clear pictures. Each page is a delight to view. This guide has a price listing in the back. Collect all three "Josef" books by the Authors Jim & K Whitaker. These books are indeed collectibles in themselves.

A wonderful pictorial guide to Josef Original figurines
I love this book. The photos are very clear and sharp. It has a great and easy to read price guide and background on the artist. Invaluable book if you collect Josef Original figurines!

Maximum amount of info for so little cost!
This book is very well thought out and put together. All the periphial sections, such as HOW TO USE THIS CATALOG,COUNTRY INDEX, FOREIGN EXCHANGE TABLE,MINT INDEX,THE COIN DENOMINATION SECTION, THE INTERNATIONAL NUMERAL SYSTEMS,THE COIN SIZE CHART,HEJIRA DATE CHART,AND THE 18TH CENTURY LEGENDS,all are informative and very helpfull. The small tidbit of information they throw in at the begining of each nation section is just enough history to make it interesting. The photos for the most part are very good and usualy show enough detail so as to make a positive determination. Throughout the book there are numerous charts for indivdual piece dating and mint mark identification. With all of this in one book, this book is surprisingly easy to use and understand.

The best coins catalog of the 18th Century
This book is a guide excellent for the coins collector of the 18th century's coins. Well, if you are interested in World Coins that it was be mint between 1701 and 1800, to then buy a Krause WC book, especially, this book, "Standard Catalog of World Coins : Eighteenth Century, 1701-1800 (2nd Ed)". They do it differently every couple of years. Before then they used to have one massive volume covering from about 1700 to present. Later you'll have to buy both the 1801-1900 and then the 1900 to present volumes and it's a real pain to start following a listing in a country and then have to dig out the other volume when you pass 1899. Also you'll probably need the 1600-1700. So you will have a complete numismatic guide.

The book taught me alot. I can REBOUND!
I think George Karl wrote a very exelent book on the proper way to fight for a rebound. He taught me how to position, how to time, how to stand, and how to jump for a rebound. The drills taught to me in this book helped me do all these things and much much more. My speed and agility were increased from practicing the rebounding drills. Before reeding this book I was unable to get rebounds with any regularity or consistency. Now with techniques from George Karl's book "101 Basketball Rebounding Drills" I am a constant competitor for a rebound.

Cast Iron Floor Trains: An Encyclopedia With Rarity and Price Guide

One-of-a-kind, great for collectors or a coffee-table.
When I first saw Cast Iron Floor Trains, I was astonished. I have known the author informally for close to 30 years, and knew of his passion for things old, but this was clearly a labor of love that went beyond the word "collector." Ralston has many different collections--antiques, old cars, Hawaiiana, whaling artifacts and toys--and he has a dogged commitment for passing on what he has learnedabout each category and each piece. That has never been so evident than this project--the 324-page encyclopedia, Cast Iron Floor Trains. Ralston spent ten years--TEN YEARS--collecting and cataloging every variation of these behemoth toys that were manufactured between 1880 and the Depression. Every color, every minuscule variation in casting, every slight difference was carefully noted, then checked and rechecked. The guy who comes second has a comparative piece of cake--he just looks it up in the book. Ralston did not have that luxury. He was writing the book. And it was a stupendous task. Unlike the later Lionel or American Flyer electric trains, most of these had no manufacturer's name or logo on them and but a few, often erroneous, catalogs. Compounding the detective work, they were usually built to be sold under different brand names and in different configurations. "Often, especially very late at night, it seemed really daunting, but then I'd see a clue I'd overlooked before and everything was worth it again. At times, it's like trying to work a jigsaw puzzle for which you'll never have all the pieces. Over the years, I've tried to put complete sets together--either with their original components or simply with locomotives and cars which are appropriate for one another. I might find an engine here, a tender there, a passenger car in California, a baggage car in New Jersey. Bringing them all together is the fun part-finding them a home where they belong. Sometimes, original pieces in a set have been separated for many years." The research that Ralston calls his "detective work" took him not only through his own collection again and again, but to other collector's homes and toy rooms and to shows, shops and auctions from one end of the country to the other. The result is a beautiful and useful coffee-table book with each different set photographed and detailed AND a price and rarity guide. Lionel guru Bruce Greenberg, who has written the authoritative works on electric trains, says, "Rick Ralston has produced what will undoubtedly be recognized as the most important, scholarly work on American cast-iron toy trains. Cast Iron Floor Trains is a collector guide of the highest quality. Its carefully researched text reports on the history of each cast-iron train manufacturer, systematically describes each set, provides an extensive photographic record of cast-iron production as well as recommendations for building and maintaining this type of collection." I can only second that comment. In one reading, I went from being vaguely interested in these early toys, to very interested!

This is a treasure of photos!
I have collected ornaments for years and buy every book I can find on the subject. A collector will value the information and price guide that the author has compiled but the photos will be worth purchasing this book. You just won't find that many different types in one book! Highly recommended!
