This is the eleventh book in Chaosium's Cthulhu Cycle series. This volume features tales of Lovecraft's most well-known creation, the octopus-headed entity, Cthulhu. Included are the foundational stories (i.e. "The Call Of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft and "The Black Island" by August W. Derleth), some rare reprints (i.e. "Some Notes Concerning A Green Box" by Alan Dean Foster) and some interesting new stories of Cthulhu in the modern world (i.e. "Rude Awakening" by Will Murray). In any collection the stories are of varied quality but I enoyed the majority of the works collected. If you are a reader of Lovecraft's Mythos fiction then this is a must for your library.

A great book for people who like to eat but hate to deal with complicated recipes. The week of integrated recipes and nutrition information is great. Try the yam pudding. All recipes are animal, oil, salt, sugar and wheat free!! Great when allergies or food sensitivities are a problem

Fantastic reference guide for all Lionel Post War Accessories. The pictures are great and include almost all listed accessories and their different variations. The stories behind the accessories are very informative and add significant enjoyment for the collector.

Alan Greenwood's book on Vintage Guitars will blow you away with his vast compendium of guitars (including a bunch you never knew even existed).

His precision is unmatched. There are guitars in there that most folks have never even heard of, much less know of, including guitar affecionados such as myself. Many, many pictures of vintage instruments are offered, but a lot of them are black and white. But they are still there. In fact I found out that one of my instruments was mis-dated by a year, simply because the particular finish was not offered in the year I was given as the origination date. Now THAT is esoteric if there ever were such a term. His history of excellent research is unlikely to be found elsewhere.

There is a short section on amplifiers, but it is brief, and leaves out any coverage on the fine Sunn amp brand, one of the few amplifiers based on the widely acknowledged king of guitar amp tubes, the 6550A (the Sunn amp was the one James Marshall Hendrix started out on, before his switch to J.C. Marshall amps), but, as advertised this is a book on guitars, not amps.

One item (which was probably unavoidable) which I was disappointed in, was that even though this was a 1996 book, the data was pertinent up to 1994, leaving some of the more recent data unavailable, or unaccessable, and therefore somewhat dated. This may change, and as detailed below, major changes are taking place in 1998. I am looking very much forward to the 1998 version, with even more enthusiasm.

THE hot issue for 1998 is that massive changes have taken place in the industry in the two years since this 1996 book was published. Huge El-Nino related fires have limited (or destroyed) access to large quantities of many time-proven 'classic' fine woods that make "Vintage" guitars 'vintage'. These rare woods are now environmentally endangered, so it is no longer wise or preferable to pursue them in massive quantities, and vendors have figured that out.

Fine Eastern Indian rosewoods, beautiful and highly ! resonant Mahogany, and fine Maple are becoming more expensive and less plentiful, less available and environmentally questionable to pursue. So several manufacturers have switched to 'smartwoods' or 'green' guitars, meaning instruments made with non-classic woods, graphite, plastic, or aluminum. The key question is whether these non-standard woods will be resonant, hold the "classic" resonant tone of previous instruments, and (particularly germane to the purpose of this book) and substantially affect PRICING (read valuation) of newer guitars, perhaps enhancing the older instruments using time-proven materials. Graphite necks may not have the resonance of mahogany necks, and certainly non-mahogany solid bodies' resonance may be drastically changed by the switch-over to other unproven woods.

The odd thing is that some of these green guitars are more expensive than the classic versions. That one has me puzzled, but probably relates to the change-up/gearing up of plants to mass produce these new instruments, with their different constituent materials. So, strike a big plus for the environment on the one hand; what is yet to be determined is if these new environmentally friendly, but less resonant, instruments will hold their tune, AND hold their value, and their 'vintage' legacy. THAT is what Mr. Greenwood's challenge is in the 1998 update. Some specialists seriously doubt these new instruments will hold their value, much less their tune, and have said so publicly, so Alan has a lot to cover this year.

Several 1990's guitar lines have been discontinued, making some previous lines collectors items; the combination of all of these above-mentioned factors make the 1998 edition even more essential, and have me awaiting the 1998 Greenwood book on Vintage Guitars with even more than usual interest.

This book is a must for every collector of fine musical instruments, and keeps you on the cutting edge of knowledge of esoteric instruments, the wide variety of instruments made, and the value of your o! wn (and other) rare musical instruments. All in all, a meticulously researched, painstakingly gathered review of practically every known guitar made. It is vital to any guitarist's collection, particularly this year. Overall, this is one outstanding piece of work, unmatched, and incomparable elsewhere.

This is a capital book for all the Physics students, it give a good overview of the theory through a huge set of problems of the main parts in the theory. Good exercices and understandable solutions, that will make you easier the way to understand General relativity. I think this book has the key to fully understand Einstein gravitation. A good choose !

this is my first time trying to find a book or purchase one.
i have in my hand a LP record issued by Court Opera Classics number CO 388(made in Austria). this LP includes arias performed by the tenor Hermann Jadlowker album no.2.
in the cover story about the Tenor, it is mentioned that in the book "The Record Collector" issued on 1970, jadlowker had recorded 235 pieces of arias and songs.
it is very urgent for me to know if this is correct, how to get this book and also how to get all the recordings.
i have got only one LP as mentioned above and also 2 CD's album by Marston and 1 CD historic recordings mono 89113 "Lebendige Vergangenheit".
any urgent help in this matter is appreciated dearly.

This book explains that students do indeed have rights while at school. In order to assert your rights, you must know them. As a "new" (less than 5 years) trader, I have scoured the gambit of trading books until my eyes crossed. When I first tried to read this book, I had to put it away twice. It's not a easy read. But, if you want to understand technical analysis, figure out what the crowd is doing and make money swing trader, Farley is as good a teacher as any.

I'm also a big fan of his web site. Bottom line is, after following "gurus" for some time, this is probably the best book on market behavior and TA that I've read. The third time, it finally started to click. It's one of the few I keep by the monitor everyday. Also, IMHO, an especially good book for swing traders who have other jobs or businesses. That's my situation, and it seems to fit my style.

I hope Alan Farley writes an updated edition to take into account the market changes that have occurred since this book was published, but the principles of technical analysis don't change all that much, just the size of the price bars!

I've been studying this book for the last couple of months and figured I'd chip in my 2 cents. As a novice to intermediately skilled trader, I found Farley's concepts informative as well as humbling. This was only the second trading book I have read (The first, Toni Turner's "Beginners Guide to Online Trading" was a complete joke). Therefore, The Master Swing Trader was my first book on real technical analysis. Farley's explanation of trading patterns and indicators were detailed and direct. My only complaint is that there weren't many examples of when and how to use the indicators in relation to the patterns. The concepts seemed to be written independently of each other.

However, I felt the true strength of the book was its emphasis on the discipline and mindset that are imperative to becoming a succesful trader. Cutthroat lines like, "We are there to take other people's money before they take ours" struck a motivating nerve in my psyche. I quickly learned that trading is not for everyone. Intelligence does not guarantee success. Only those self-disciplined enough to trade their plans will find themselves trading another day. Otherwise, as Farley put it, they quickly turn to safer hobbies.

Granted, this book was written in a fairly dry manner. However, I disagree with those who say it is tough to comprehend. This book is far from a beginners guide to trading. It will take some time (and a couple of highlighters) until the concepts on the pages flow easier. I think that those bashing the writing style have not taken the time to understand his termonology. Seasoned traders will have an easier time applying Farley's concepts.

When I first ordered this book, I was a little concerned that the 5 star reviews I saw might have been written by the author's friends.

Boy, was I wrong.

In my opinion, this is the best book on swing trading I have ever read. Although the primary audience is position traders, the book's principles can be easily applied to all aspects of trading, especially day trading. Most importantly the book is well-written, in fact you know it was written by a professional trader as soon as you open it. I highly recommend it because it offers some amazing insights.

I was afraid this book might be an advertisement for the author's web site. I was very pleased that the site was mentioned only once, and then just giving valuable information. This book is also up to date and doesn't try to sell readers on the tired momentum game, where everyone used to play the markets. It's a very hardcore study of trading strategies, and definitely not a good place for a newbie to start. But for the rest of us, the author has put together a very readable, concise manuscript on beating the market.

This is a must read for every active trader, whether a day trader, swing trader or position trader.
