Uncanny coincidence
This extraordinary book is oddly reminiscent in some ways of Warwick David's book *Corridor Dance,* so if you liked *Vertical Line,* check out *Corridor Dance.

Vertigo
'Vertical Line' is a very unusual book. At first it seems to be a fantasy. It is set in its own landscape with semi-mythical characters who are involved in a quest. But soon it becomes evident that there is more to the book than this.

Following the narrative, it becomes increasingly necessary to abandon all preconceptions as conventional barriers of space and time break down and in their place a sort of poetic vision takes over. This is both fearsome and beautiful at the same time.

By the end of the book the transformation into a sort of 'other-reality' is complete and the reader is left with a vertiginous sense of having glimpsed a universe that is somehow beyond our own.

The world of the ancients.
A really unusual book! I was a bit doubtful about it at first: it looked so serious. But after I had read the introduction which explains about Egyptian mythology really well (even including little diagrams of the various deities), I started reading chapter one of the book itself. This is where it becomes mysterious and beautiful all at the same time. Pretty soon it started to describe the journey the sun-god, Re, makes through the Underworld from sunset to the dawn. The Egyptians believed that the god had to make this nightly journey through twelve subterranean caverns and confront all sorts of dangers on the way. But there is a poetry to the way this journey is described in the book and this enables the author to weave into the narrative all the other myths of the ancient Egyptians. This means that by the time you reach the end of the book - and its climax - you feel you hold the whole of that ancient world in your head at the same time! It's a sort of poetic novel, I suppose, but one of the most unusual ones I have ever read.

A Must for Lawrence Fans!
Although this book is unfinished by the author, it will not disappoint! This novel should be viewed for its lyrical merit rather than its story line. "For a little man who suddenly imagines life to be something and the Word a mere bauble in the hands of buffoons like himself. Finds himself strangely anxious, books showering down on his head like the ruins of Carthage, while all the time he wants life, life, whatever life may be. Finds himself anxious-to be with young people, to share their existence, their youth"...."Mr.Noon" The story follows Gilbert Noon, a young schoolteacher that has a torid affair with a fellow schoolteacher named Emme. After her father catches them in the "act", Gilbert flees the small town to start life anew. Vowing to pursue his doctorate in Germany and to put away silly romantic endeavors. After escaping to Germany, his real trouble begins, he meets Johanna, a smoldering mature German woman with much experience in the ways of life and love. I really enjoyed this book, and I hope you enjoy another one of Lawrence's treasures as well!

Intriguing mix of science, UFOlogy & US govt conspiracy
The author does a revealing job of covering most aspects of UFO phenomena, including implants and abductions, asserting the US government uses both for mind control. He also mentions his own involvement in the "Philadelphia Experiment" where the US military allegedly transported a manned warship through space-time. He covers the "extensions" of modern Physics behind "reality engineering" for interstellar travel, but, as a Physics graduate and a serious UFOlogist, I found the science (twisters & spinners) a little thin. Half the book is written by his co-writer, mostly his own spiritual & UFO ideas, with strong Scientology leanings. The closing remarks that our "time line" ( a crucial term, but never defined ) has diverged from the Creator's, who is now absent from our world, will surprise those who have tapped Christ Consciousness / Buddha Nature through their own spiritual practice, & undermines other unsubstantiated assertions in the text.

The five pages devoted to life in Pleiadean society are inspiring, if a little short, considering the book's title. Presumably the Pleiadeans do not want extensive coverage of their world.

The first half is great!
While the dinky drawing on the cover wasn't encouraging, and then when I turned to the Bibliography I was ready to forget reading it at all. However the material presented by Preston.B. Nichols on UFOs and implants at the front of the book was excellent! Unfortunately the rest of the 'fill in' by Peter Moon I considered absolute rubbish. Read anything by Mr. Nicols on this subject and you will not be disappointed....

Thought Provoking And Bizzarre
If there was ever a book that defined the old saying 'truth is stranger than fiction' this is the book assuming this book is true. I personally believe a lot of it is true or at least it's a true interpretation of events as the author perceived them. Mr. Nichols is an engineer and a real person who got pulled into some of these top secret government projects. He indicates that this involvement did not occur by chance but was his destiny because of his relationship with beings that live on planets in the Pleiades constellation of stars.

The world is lucky that guys like Mr. Nichols and Al Bielek even have a brain left. Anyone involved in projects like this eventualy gets the old 'debriefing' treatment. I think Dunkin Cameron is legally brain dead.

Mr. Nichols describes an apparent attempt on his life which required major surgery when a government agent knocked him out with a stun gun while he was driving. He 'got too close' to knowing the truth about their intentions to use the Star Wars system as a mind control vehicle against the entire human race.

Therein lies the frightening aspect of this entire subject in general. It appears that there are top secret projects going on and that human life is expendible if someone becomes a threat to whatever the goals of the project are. Making it even more frightening is that some of the people that are driving these projects may have connections to beings from other planets whose intentions appear to be malevolent towards the human race.

I think most people believe in God, Satan, angels, etc., or at least some form of beings that are above the human which are either good or bad. This book sort of stays consistent with this idea but these beings are portrayed as coming from other planets in some cases. There does appear to be a relationship between what this book says and traditional beliefs about evil beings such as the followers of the Leviathon possibly coming from a certain area of the galaxy.

This only makes what to me is a very frightening idea even more frightening.

The second part of this book is by Peter Moon who tells how the Pleiades constellation fits into mythology and other ancient legends about the human race. I tend to agree that those mythological stories hold hidden meanings that have a basis in reality at some level. They are probably symbolicly written stories that indicate spiritual truths and real events similar to the Adam and Eve story.

Moon gets into a large amount of other philosophy such as tying this stuff in with the bible and other things. He has a background in scientology and other strange philosophies.

The art work on the cover of this book and the other one I've read so far is excellent. I like the horse on 'The Montauk Project'. This is a depiction of the mysterious horse the Montauk boys saw when they were sent to the year 6037 AD. If you turn the horse upside down it forms another picture. Moon expands on the possible meaning of this horse.

On page 88 Mr. Nichols offers a possible explanation for the large bulge that could be observed in von Neumann's trowers. This was apparently the result of a procedure that was performed on him by alien beings.

I enjoy these books a lot but the reader must be very careful not to assume that Satanism and witchcraft are the same as other religions. They are not. As far as I've heard Aleister Crowley was a very evil man and wherever Crowley went blood shed was sure to follow as it apparently did at Montauk. Some of the Montauk boys were beaten to death to try to get them to cooperate with the homosexual activities and time travel that were all part of the Montauk project. My understanding is this was one of the things that drove Mr. Nichols and Dunkin Cameron to create a creature out of Dunkin's subconscious to destroy the equipment for the Montauk project.

As I said this stuff gets really bizarre.

I would never want to be involved in anything like this to the level that Mr. Nichols is. Sooner or later they'll give you the old 'debriefing' treatment. The great mind von Neumann ended up with a split personality who could remember very little of his experiences on these secret projects.

The most complete single reference on the IJN
Warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, 1869-1945 is the culmination of three German naval historians in ttempting to document every combatant to serve in the Imperial Japanese Navy. This is the most complete book on the IJN available and contains excellent data on all major and minor warships.

A useful reference for the modeler, the only weakness is the size of the illustrations, which are mostly in 1/1200 scale. The original German edition had better line drawings, but few photos. The strength of this English edition is the collection of photos, many not seen outside of Japan until now. I would rate this as a 4 1/2 star effort and definitely superior to the book by Watts on the same subject.

Excellent reference for the IJN
An excellent reference. This book contains listings for nearly every IJN ship up to the end of WWII. This book does not have pages of descriptive info concerning ship types, instead this book's info is listed in short tabular layouts. All in all a great book to have if you are interested in the IJN.

A very complete review on Imperial Japanese Navy's warships
The book is very complete, listing almost EVERY warship, of every size and type, manned by the IJN during the covered period. The data are quite detailed and the book is filled with a lot of fine drawings. The photos are not so numerous but all of them are of good quality. Every class is briefly described in all respects: technically, historically and as regard the operational career of each ship till her life's end (scrapped or lost, it doesn't matter). If you are looking for a complete reference on the IJN's warships, you can't miss this book: I own a good warship library, comprising other books dealing with the IJN, but I regard this one my true reference on the matter!

Beautifully presented book with evocative photos of work.
Through his whimsical spaces, Moss shows us how architecture can be invested with idea, how idea does not have to conspire with ideology, but be layered with a machiavellian character to create a kinesthesia of layered spaces. The BOX project inspires enthusiasm with its poetry, its exactatude, and its radically independent aesthetics and vocabulary of form. This small and beautiful book studying one building should be part of every creative library.

Interesting reading, especially if you're into conspiracies.
This book is not bad. It weaves an interesting story that sheds some light on one of the greatest conspiracy theories of our time (Philadelphia Experiment). While the writing style may be considered a bit juvenile, I found it to be easy reading. Moon does not go into incredible details on how some of the technical aspects. Thankfully, he keeps the tech jargon to a minimum and understandable to those of us who lack a PhD in electrical engineering.

I recommend the book, even though it was quick reading, it did weave a most interesting tale that collaborates the stories of others who were involved.

Talk about THOUGHT PROVOKING!
WOW!

Preston B. Nichols explains his awakening to the fact that he was involved in the manipulation of history through time travel.

I know... it sounds a bit odd, but once you have read his story (this is a non-fiction book), you start contemplating the ramifications of time travel.

So here is one of my questions: If you can go back in time using the times of August 12th 1943, 1963 and 1983, does that mean the the next massive entry to manipulate time is in 2003?

If not, then are there folks in a circuitous rut of constantly manipulating 1943, 1963, and 1983 and the tunnel times connected to these moments?

These are just some of things that will start you thinking after reading this. I highly recommend this book if only for the intellectual exercise of running through the possibilities!

Time travel - never been done? You sure?
The most intriguing book on the subject of time travel. One has to read between the lines to get the full picture. Sure most reviewers rip it apart - then again - do you think the officials will admit to the fact time travel is possible, leave alone has been done!!!
While I got my doctorate in High Energy Physics in Germany I heard stories about this experiment, saw data from sources that where - shall we say very credible. The physics in the book are solid - yes for those of you who say "no way"- right you know everything- excuse us who know nothing. Read the book dares to speculate and open your eyes - after all Tesla and Einstein laid the first step for this incredible adventure.

Interesting... but not to be taken seriously
While you may find a few legitimate interesting facts and connections buried within Moon's work, be advised that to find them you will have dig through a multitude of almost ridiculous logical leaps that will make you wonder if Moon is a tad schizophrenic, actually believing the nonsense he espouses OR if his ludicrous jumps from one "splendid synchronicity" to another are just an attempt to fill the pages in order to make a buck. If you don't have the stomach for B.S... either read this in short doses, like I have, or don't read it at all...

A real page turner!
This book is a real page-turner, I couldn't put it down! This book is much better written than the two books I have read previously (The Montauk Files and Montauk: The Alien Connection), and the research is thorough. Connections were made that dovetailed nicely with my own research. If you get nothing else from these books, *get it* that the world is much bigger and much more complex than it seems, and all is not as it appears to be. If you are wondering why the world today seems unfathomable by our own limited forms of understanding, it is because of the undercurrents that we are not made privy to by those who are in control. If you don't get that, it is certainly not because these writers didn't try...

One of the Best Books in the Montauk Series
"The Black Sun: Montauk's Nazi-Tibetan Connection" is one of my favorite books in the Montauk series. As with all of the Montauk books, this book is fairly wild at times and is enjoyable reading. The book covers numerous issues and references many books, yet pieces them together in a unique way. I found the information on the occult interest of the Nazis and the role Tibet supposedly played, to be of most interest.

The book gets contains several photographs of supposed Nazi aircraft that look like UFOs. There are also several interesting illustrations throughout the book.

How much can you handle?
This book is pretty frucking far out...and I've read a lot of cutting edge stuff. Whose reality are we talkin' about here? The reader must decide for himself.

Prepare to Have Your Reality Shattered
This, the third book in the series, continues the saga of the secret underground base at Montauk. The author introduces a number of new elements into the mix, such as sacred geometry, the Nazis, and an astonishing amount of synchronicity.

If the information in this book is true, I think I want to start taking Prozac. If this stuff isn't true, it's still the best science fiction I've ever read.

Sadly disappointing
I have read all the Montauk books by Moon and Nichols and there is no comparison to those well written books of a few years ago. The book is in two parts, the first leaves massive holes in detail, telling us that Jim Morrison did not die (wow, tell us something we didn't know) and that he has put on alot of weight Elvis style. But then 'Preston' (Any real reader of the Montauk books knows that all Preston's writings are ghost written by the self publishing sole owner of Skybooks, Peter Moon, Preston is in fact dsylexic, which is well known in the electronics community, which is in no way a marr on the man, but it sure affects his ability to be a writer) goes on to say his life would be in danger to reveal more. Oh come on. The second half is all about John Ford, a friend of Peter Moon, and most of it is already covered in other Montauk material that I have brought directly from Mr Peter Moon at Skybooks. I think the main problem here is that there were demands from Montauk fans for another Montauk style book and Mr Peter Moon came up with a title to fill the gap. I have contacted Skybooks direct for material in the past and I am not surprised to find that Mr Peter Moon publishes from his home and is the sole employee of skybooks, unfortunately like so many other self published books this would not have made it past the readers at a professional publishers.

Wow! So everything I know is wrong!
It's hard for me to believe how much I have been mislead over the years! Imagine my shock to find out that most of the key recordings of the 1960's were done on Long Island. I always knew that George Martin was a no-talent ... and that the Abbey Road studios were third-rate.

Thanks Messers Nichols and Moon for clearing this up.

This weak follow-up to the otherwise entertaining Montauk series is an amusing read and not much more. Buy it if you like this stuff, but be more willing than I to suspend reality on the music points. I wish you had concentrated more on the technology of music...I still have trouble understanding phase-shifting.

Oh, by the way, let me add to the conspiracy. When I was growing up in Linden, NJ, in the 1960's there was a garage band named the 1910 Fruitgum Company. One of the guys in the band was named Mark Gutkowski. Buddah Records signed them, then stole the name. And, Stanton Friedman of the Roswell/Majic-12 stories grew up in Linden, too. So, I guess that confirms it.

Great story, but something seems to be missing...
"The Music of Time" is a Montauk-related book that is interesting reading, but lacks power. However, the authors even state that the book was re-written to protect particular people, which did weaken it.

The story is mostly about Preston Nichols' involvement with the music industry. As readers of the other Montauk books know, expect an unbelievable story that is far different that the reality of most people.
