More than what his preachings attracted me, his biography did! I really would follow His way of striving to achieve the desired goals. This book was much more than a mere biography. Excellent, thought-provoking book!
This is one of the best books I've read so far on this topic. It is short but very insightful, profound and informative. It provides not only the how, but also the why of vegetarianism, including several tasty recipes as an introduction to delicious Indian cuisine. Your life should be changed for the better after reading this book -- and implementing the recommended changes in your diet and lifestyle.

A book every truth seeker should read
Everyone should read this book and learn why a sincere spiritual seeker has to become vegetarian no matter which paths he/she belongs to.

A guide to Krishna through Karma-free diet
It is book from ISKCON. First chapter point out the dangers to health from meat eating. Second chapter deals with the economics and ecological implications of meat eating. Third chapter approaches this question from spiritual point of view. Fourth chapter discusses law of karma and points out that meat eating as leading sinful reactions. Fifth chapter introduces the concept of love of God and how it is practically expressed by cooking for Krishna, offering it to Krishna and eating only food offered to Krishna. Seventh chapter provides a collection of observations by Prabupada in this context. The rest of book gives recipes for various regions (Indian, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, French, Middle East). Appendix introduces to Hare Krsna Food for life program, list of ISCKON restaurants in Australasia and ISKCON Centers around the world. Narada got Krsna mercy by eating Krsna Prasad. That should explain the importance of the theme of book.

Good summary of Bhagavan Krishna's life.
It is a good book that summarizes Bhagavan Krishna's life. Another good book is Devi Vanamali's The Play of God, which is a recent publication of Bhagavan Krishna's life.

The Supreme Original Personality
This book is the first truly accurate English rendition of the 10th Canto of the most elevated spiritual book of the Vedas, namely Srila Vyasadeva's Srimad Bhagavatam, or Bhagavat Purana. There is a lot of misinformation and ignorance about the true nature of spiritual knowledge found in the Vedas of India. The esoteric spiritual portions of the Vedas are not accessible by dry academic analysis, and Swami Bhaktivedanta brilliantly presents the realizations of actual God conscious transcendentalists, who have direct experience of the matters about which they speak. According to the Srimad Bhagavatam, Krishna is the Supreme Original Personality of Godhead and He appeared on this planet 5,000 years ago to display His eternal divine pastimes for the benefit of everyone. In this text, it is explained that God cannot be realized by speculation or empiric experimentation and evaluation. God reveals Himself to those who sincerely want to know about Him, and to make it even easier He appears personally on this planet from time to time. This book is the story of His appearance 5,000 years ago. This is not a book about Hinduism, which isn't really a religion per se. It is a non-sectarian look at some of the deepest philosophical concepts ever revealed to mankind.

Divine Love
Swami Prabhupada's book provides an enchanting glimpse of the activities of the cowherd god, Krishna, recorded in ancient Hindu writings. Recounting the stories of Krishna, from his birth through his encounters with various demonic forces to his establishment of a royal dynasty, this book is filled with distinctly Indian images of divine love. Here is emphasized the intimate and loving relationship that the human can establish with the divine. Prabhupada's text is quite readable and the narratives are supported by philosophical commentary, also accessible to the average reader. Anyone interested in gaining some understanding of the flavor of Hindu religion should read this book. Although not all sects adhere to the ideas presented here, this is a wonderful first book for the person questing for knowledge of Hindu religion.

Excellent book on reincarnation
This is very interesting book. Keeps you on your toes till you finish the book.
It is very logical and convincing.

An amazing religious/scientific approach to reincarnation
I have read many books on reincarnation throughout my life. This is a relatively small book and I was not very impressed with its appearance at my first glance. As I kept reading it, I am became deeply involved. It is impressive the way the author presents the subject of reincarnation in such a scientific manner with touches of religious belief, and with so many logical examples.

Never seen a finer transaltion
I read this series of books and found it to be full of a lot of information on all subjects. I enjoyed it very much, and have recomended it to my friends who wanted to know more on one of the most dynamic personalities in the last 500 years, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprapbu, whose birth and life are documented in this wonderful translation. His life has had an influence on the entire world. When you read the series you will understand what I am talking about.

Classic Devotional Text
This is a classic devotional texts composed by a great Vaisnava saint in the 17th century. It expounds on the life and teachings of the Medival Saint and Avatar, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who started a spiritual revolution in medival India, a time charaterized by materialism. Originally written in Bengali, this masterpeice has been translated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, who has added extraordinary commentary to the nectarean verses. This is a must read for all serious spiritual seekers.

Tribute to Beyond Birth & Death
I first read Beyond Birth & Death as a practicing Hare Krishna devotee, when I was selling the book on traveling sankirtan in 1973. I had a near death experience and found the book calming and soothing for understanding our nature as the eternal soul, not the body. I read it again in March, 2000, to help deal with the pain and confusion of a dying relative. I would recommend this book for anyone who has to deal with the death of a loved one, or for anyone serious about understanding the real purpose and destiny of the human form of life.

Beyond Illusion & Doubt - So it is!
It's said ability for self realization is what makes men different from animals. So we read so much of Philosophy from the books of western philosophers as eastern philosophies have been hard to get until this New Age movement. In this book the founder of Hare Krishna Movement - ISKCON provides a Vedic angle to philosophies of all famous thinkers of the west. From Fraud to Jung, From Marx to Socrates etc. The authors views are on these philosphies is so enlightened, powerful and that it puts all of them in the right perspectives.

While reading this as we get some introduction to prominent western thought, the authors illumination of the Vedic view so enlightening that it challenges reader to use own sensibilities understands some dogmas and glaring gaps in certain theories as of Fraud's. It's like getting hot daal soup to go with bowl of plain rice!

This book is a must read for all seekers of philosophy and self realization.

A concise introduction to ISKCON philosophy
The book is a introductory part of Prabhupada's book Bhagavadgita as it is. The book clearly explains the subject matter of Bhagavad-gita (BG), the purpose of BG, the spirit of approach to BG, the process of understanding BG and the result of understanding BG. The book's main observation is that BG itself mentiones that BG is approached in a devotional mood to understand its message. The message is hidden for one without devotion. The purpose of BG is to make man understand the cause of suffering and method of release from suffering. One should appreciate how Arjuna accepted Krishna as Supreme Personality of Godhead. The verses of chapter 10 are drawn attention. The subject matter of BG is five: ISVARA (God), JIVA ( Living Entity), PRAKRTI ( Material Nature), KALA (Time) and KARMA ( Activity). The process of understanding involves in accepting Gita as Scripture. The essence of understanding BG is to surrender to God and act according to His will. One's life is purified and he returns to the Kingdom of God. The Supreme Lord is transcendental and eternal. Jiva is also eternal and spiritual. BG reawakens Jiva to this relation. The Svarupa of JIVA is Krishna-das ( Servant to God). True happiness for Jiva is serving God. One should worship only the Supreme not the demigods. One who thinks of Krishna at the time of death goes back to Krishna' s abode. By studying Vedic literature, one's thinking can be purified. One should practice Krishna-consciousness all the twenty four hours. There are nine processes of devotional services ( Listening to Krishna-Katha, Singing His glory, Remembering His Glory...). The process should be learnt from an authority (Guru in parampara).

If it's difficult to get...GET it as soon as you can!
I never thaught that I could get so much from somebody I knew almost nothing. I liked biographies, but this one... Excellent for people who always think that what they think is always right, and who are (like I was) inclined to critizise without knowing. Do not let prejudice blow your mind. This is a good one! Why not a postumous Peace Nobel Prize to this man?
