I ran across this book by accident in a library in 1987 and opened it at random. A few striking sentences later, and this book had become one of the books that would accompany me throughout life. For philosophic writing on the highest level, luminous style, and a very special kind of intellectual-emotional wholeness, one could not do better than Rose Pfeffer's _Nietzsche: Disciple of Dionysus_.
