A fast and easy way to learn medical terminology
Whether you want to understand what your doctor just told you, or you're considering a career in medicine, I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn medical terminology. Quick Medical Terminology will teach you to break down medical terms into parts so you can pronounce, spell, and define them. No previous knowledge of the medical profession is necessary. The format is simple. New words are listed at the beginning of each unit. Word definitions are short and easy to understand. Good examples are given for each term. There are blanks to complete throughout the text, two tests at the end of each unit, and final self tests at the end of the book. Answers for each question and the tests are also provided, so you can check your work. A great way to learn over 500 medical terms at your own pace!

Lady Lollipop

A new kind of house pet!
Reminiscent of Lester, the pig in the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle series, Lollipop is a homely pig chosen as a present by the spoiled Princess Penelope for her 8th birthday. Her owner, Johnny, has trained this pig to obey commands much as a dog would, and comes to live at the palace with the pig. The King secretly engages the boy to train his daughter as well, as she is getting out of hand. This predictable story teaches a couple of lessons to the readers--the problem of selfishness and not judging by appearances--without beating the reader with those messages. The illustrations complement the text, which is roughly a 3rd grade level.

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY MADE EASY!
I just started taking a medical terminology class last month and I was sure that learning all of these new complicated words would be extremely difficult but the Medical Terminology (A Programmed Systems Approach) 8th Edition is so easy to follow and actually fun to do. I've found myself fascinated with the idea that one word can have so many different meanings behind it. The way the book is set-up it has sort of an elementary school appeal to it because you work in it frame by frame and instead of skipping from one term to the next the book is constantly re-introducing you to terms that you've learned in previous units and intermingling them with the new ones.

The only disappointment in this book was that the paperback version did not include the terminology tapes that accompany the hardcover version, but other that that this book is a good investment if you plan to go into the medical field or if you just want to learn for your own personal knowledge.

Medical Terminology: A Programmed Text
An excellent guide, and extremely thorough. You'll be surprised at how long you can keep this book because it can really save you a lot of embarassment when you don't know something and need to to look it up. However, some of the explanations are a bit wordy. But all in all, a must have for all health profesionals!
