I found this book very absorbing and difficult not to think about when put down. I found myself imagening going through the halls of my own school half blind and how it'd feel. The struggle bettween the characters love life and his tying to keep his dignity by pretending nothing is wrong with him is one that I'll always remember. If you go to FWB High School you better check this one out before I decide to reread it.

From the "Pale Fire" school of comedy comes this really crazy story told from the point of view of a supercilious academic foot fetishist who hates sex and thinks himself superior to everyone. As he describes his favorite island paradise (with its perfectly-footed goddess, Mbagulu), the book, which is supposed to be a travel guide, gradually goes to pieces along with the narrators link with reality. Really amusing, if slight. One reviewer said about it, "This book is no good for anything but reading!" (At 68 pages, he was expecting something substantial?) Frothy but fun, and there's nothing else quite like it
