Fearless #9 was a great addition to the series. It has more action that any other book in the series so far. You can also feel the need for Gaia to get revenge.
A bit of the background: Gaia Moore was born without the fear gene and her father Tom Moore trained her to become a ... fighter because of this. Her best friend Ed Fargo is in a wheelchair and is totally in love with Gaia and her other best friend Mary Moss has just been killed. And this is where Blood picks up from.
Fun, energetic Mary was shot by a killer hired by her drug dealer Skizz as a way to get back at Gaia for nearly beating him to death a few weeks earlier. Gaia vows to get Skizz to avenge Mary. But she doesn't want Ed to know anything about her plans to kill so she oushes him away from her and they end up getting in a huge fight. In turn this pushes Ed closer towards his ex-girlfriend and Gaia's worst enemy Heather Gannis.
Meanwhile Loki (Tom's twin brother) is waiting for the moment Gaia will kill Skizz so he can claim Gaia as his own as he figures that once she's killed someone she will forever want to kill.
This book was excellent and it definitely makes me want to read more of this series. It is a bit violent but not excessively so. If this sounds like your type of book go out and find a copy!!
Happy Reading :)
This is one of the best books that I've read by Mr. Lucado and is based on the book of Romans. Mr. Lucado is knowledgeable and such an excellent teacher, I try to share most of his books with my friends.
In The Grip Of Grace, he reminds us of the extent of God's love towards us. The extent that God will go to, proving his love for us. No psychologist, hypnotherapist, doctor, sweet talker can reach deep down into the pits of our souls and renew us with that sweet and wonderful gift of Grace. This gift that God so willingly offers to this suffering world as we reach out to him burdened with sin.
Thank you Mr. Lucado, this book has changed my way of thinking and it will certainly be read by lots of my friends.

Next up is Melissa Fox, who is hospitalized after trying to kill herself in book #6, right after Will Simmons broke up with her. Most everybody feels guilty about this incident, especially Jess and Will, yet that's not stopping either one of them from thinking about each other. Could there still be some possible chemistry between these two? (I hope not. Jess seems happy enough with Jeremy, without Will ruining things.)
And lastly: Maria Slater had caught Elizabeth Wakefield and Conner McDermott kissing, and now she's not speaking to either one of them, mostly Liz though. And not surprisingly, Conner is now avoiding Liz, too, so she can "work things out" with Maria. More like so he can leave the "relationship" quietly.
There were some really good lists, journal entries, and assignments in "Boy Meets Girl", in particular Liz's freestyle writing assignment about the meaning of love and Maria's "Why Books Are Better Than People" list (my favorite). This is probably one of the better books I've read so far in this series. Jessica is finally back to her old self, worrying about boys and appearances, plus being more assertive, which was the biggest character trait missing in the previous six SVHSY books. "Boy Meets Girl" is worth reading if you finally want to see Melissa get her comeuppance and Jessica land on her two feet again. For readers age 12+

makes me wish that...;)
Conner really wants Elizabeth. He has kissed her again and again. When Maria asked Liz about Conner, Liz lied and she felt so bad for lying to her very best friend. At last, when Maria came over to Liz's (Conner's), she caught the two kissing and she cried.
Jeremy Aames' father had a heart attack and he's been staying in the hospital. Jeremy has put aside everything - football, his job at House of Java, rest and even Jessica! He got so worn out and had forgotten to call Jess and make up with her. He then later explained everything to Jessica and she felt so sorry.
I am so happy Elizabeth and Conner are together! Maria needs to get over Conner, so that Elizabeth won't have to hide and feel guilty all the time. Jeremy is such a great guy and he belongs to Jessica. Jeremy should get over his family problems and spend more time with Jess - more like a couple. I hope Will and Melissa will really break up. Will should not take back Melissa just because she has tried to kill herself, since she is so mean and horrible.
This is a great book. I don't use to like the Senior Year series but I think the books are getting more interesting. This is one of the best ones and I rate it '4 out of 5'.
Will isn't the only guy to fall on Jessica's bad side, though. There's also Jeremy Aames, who Jessica believes has been avoiding her since the humiliating party scene in "If You Only Knew" (#5). She doesn't know, however, that Jeremy's recent absence is the result of his father's heart attack. Their lack of communication--and Jess's wild imagination--blows everything out of proportion.
And then there's the matter of the most mismatched couple ever--Conner McDermott and Elizabeth Wakefield. I must say, at the beginning of this series, I found their love/hate squabbles pretty amusing, but now that Conner's true nature has emerged, I seriously doubt these two will ever have a workable future. I mean, while he and Liz are still playing tonsil-hockey (with no strings attached, of course), Liz is trying to keep it a secret from his ex, Maria Slater (even though Maria's starting to suspect something), but Conner seemed intent on having Maria catch them. Whether he wanted to make her jealous or not, I don't know, but this book really shed some light on the "real" Conner. Apparently, he has no regard for other people's feelings. Liz had better get some sense into that fuzzy blonde head of hers before Conner seriously takes her for a ride and she ends up losing Maria for good as a friend. Sexy or not, Conner is not worth it (which just so happens to be his own motto on every girl he's been with, including Liz).
"Your Basic Nightmare" is the sixth book in the Sweet Valley High: Senior Year series. Worth checking out if you're into teen romances and enjoy Sweet Valley books.

Here is where everything changes. Finally something REALLY BAD happens in Sweet Valley-- and considering this place is in California, you wonder why it doesn't come sooner. This is a VERY exciting and suspenseful book. I heard it described by another SV reader that these are the last books published in the classic SVH series before moving on to the newly published series (obviously trying to get new blood with) Junior High, Senior Year, and University series.
There is only one problem I have with this book-- and it's not really this one, it's with SVU. This book is very tightly written and a suspenseful read. However-- nearly everyone knows that the series creator, Francine Pascal, does not take an active part in writing the current SV books. They are passed off to other writers to continue the saga. Normally the "passing of the torch" is done very well (ie the Nancy Drew saga) and for the most part in SV it works. I think the books in the latter half of the SVH are much, much better done with better plotlines than the first books of the series.
I think it would be great if these other writers would at least TAKE A GLANCE at the books written previously, and from different series to prevent timeline mistakes. Especially whoever has been writing the SVU series.
Spoiler Alert: Olivia Davidson dies in SVH Earthquake. In theory SVH takes place during the twins' junior year in high school. (However this junior year has multiple spring breaks, christmas trips, etc.) Then comes SV University. I dislike that series for a few reasons, one of which I'll mention here. I was at the bookstore reading through the SVU where they go back to Sweet Valley for Christmas break and have a high school reunion-- I think the title is Home for Christmas. And in this book, it clearly shows Olivia Davidson, somehow back from the dead, eager to see her old friends! She has several lines of dialogue and then leaves. THIS book is not the one I have a problem with-- I'm just kind of irritated that whoever has the SV torch isn't keeping in touch with what is happening to all the characters. The University book where this happens isn't on this site, so I had to list it here. But SVH Earthquake gets 5 stars all the same.
I would recommend this book to mainly teens who enjoy drama and love/relationships.
After all these adventures happen in the book, we soon find a beat-up Gaia wearing a ripped red dress and heels, with no money, and there's no good place to go. So she goes to Sam Moon's dorm in his University.
After reading many pages and some past Fearless books, Sam finally leaves the annoying brunette, Heather Gannis, who is foe of Gaia Moore. Sam goes to his dorm and finds the Fearless blonde Gaia sleeping in his bed.
Overall, I think this book is good. It has lots of thrills and surprises.
