Vegan made easy!
Being vegan can be a chore sometimes - it's the best diet in the world, yet it takes such an effort to avoid the proliferance of animal products in this country! But Marie Oser makes being vegan easy - and fun - and DELICIOUS! I have worn out her two other books from use, and I enjoying this new one so much. Every recipe is so tasty, her books have expanded my menu incredibly! The Enlightened Kitchen is informative, too - jam-packed with details to help you make good eating choices. You'll love it!

The Enlightened Kitchen
I heard that the author of the fabulous "Soy of Cooking", Marie Oser had a new book the "Enlightened Kitchen". I couldn't wait to get it. I wasn't disappointed. It is a wonderful collection of flavorful vegan recipes that I can make myself. I never have had an issue with trying to find the ingredients because so many are now available in supermarkets. If I'm unfamiliar with a product, Marie's Englightened Pantry serves as a wonderful reference guide. One of my favorite things about the Enlightened Kitchen is the way the recipes are layed out. They are easy to follow and come together quickly. And the best part in my family loves them! My 5 year old likes helping in the kitchen and it is nice to know I have a collection of Marie's cookbooks that can assist me in showing my daughter how to cook healthy. Since the holiday's are right around the corner, I'm going to be giving the "Enlightened Kitchen" as gifts this holiday along with fresh baked Cranberry Walnut muffins, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread and the Pumpkin Raisin Breads to friends and family.

Thank You Marie for Saving Lives!
I have always been concerned about what types of foods I consume on a daily basis and what the impact will be. Now with Marie's new book and these additional recipes, I can continue to prepare delicious menus and know I am putting the best products and ingredients into my blood stream. Her recipes are excellent with very little or no fat and no cholesterol. Wow! It is amazing that she continues to produce these award winning dishes that you can make for pennies on the dollar which are so good for you. Thank you Marie. I feel terrific!!!

More Soy Cooking
"More Soy Cooking" is chock full of information and gourmet recipes for vegetarians and vegans, and those who just want a more healthy diet. I found the listings of calcium content and protein content in plant foods extremely helpful. The cooking tips, and cooking tools sections were also informative. I like how the information is presented with complete explanations and definitions of items that may be unfamiliar to a novice vegetarian. And that's just the introduction. The recipes are incredible. Every one I have tried is full of taste (which is a little unexpected in a soy cook book), and the presentation lends itself to any table, anywhere. I thought "The Soy of Cooking" was really good and have used it extensively. I didn't think it could get any better--but "More Soy Cooking" has continued the tradition of excellent information and healthy, tasty recipes. I whole heartedly recommend this book.

Marie Oser does it again
In her new book, More Soy Cooking, Marie Oser gives standard meals a healthy makeover by substituting soy derivatives for meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy products. Traditional Chili Con Carne becomes Chili NON Carne, without sacrificing taste, texture, or nutritional value. "Swiss 'Steak' with Sauteed Portobello and Cremini Mushrooms," 'Beef' Ravioli, "'Turkey' Tetrazzini," and "Manicotti 'Bolognese'," are just a few of the mouth-watering, easy-to-make "enlightened" entrees (based on Ms. Oser's weekly syndicated newspaper column, "The Enlightened Kitchen"). Each recipe is followed by a nutritional analysis of both the traditional version, and the "enlightened" version. The Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake with Orange Blossom Glaze weighs in with only 4 grams of fat, compared to 16 grams for its traditional counterpart. Recipes include appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, pasta and pizza, side dishes, and desserts. Sixteen pages are devoted to "The Need for a Plant-Based Diet," in which Ms. Oser addresses the protein question, and debunks the dairy myth. Twenty pages are devoted to the definition of terms used in soy-centered cuisine. Although wine is required in some recipes, other liquids, such as broth or apple cider, may be substituted. There is a four-page resource guide to provide the reader with websites and/or phone numbers of product manufacturers. More Soy Cooking is a MUST HAVE for health-conscious cooks who want to maintain the authentic flavor of their families favorite recipes.

WOW! Marie Oser makes becoming a Vegan, so easy!
I have been struggling for years to make the switch to a Vegan diet for all of the important health reasons. I wasn't able to make the transition until I tried Marie's recipes. Her recipes include such great ingredients which are very "meat-like" but they are soy! And, they taste great! Nothing artifical either as Marie insists on using the freshest ingredients. Thank you Marie for saving my taste buds and my life. You are a life-saver!

Easiest way to implement soy in your diet!
After Marie Oser on HGTV I tried her famous Tofu Brownies and have been hooked since. By using silken soy with pastas and tofu with vegetables I have been able to easily and affordably bring the benefits of soy to my diet. Her recipes are easy and pretty fast. I have made several of these dishes for friends and they have been none the wiser. The best is listening to a dinner guest go on about how much they hate tofu...while they are eating it! Ha! The best part of this book is her glossary of soy products and alternatives for things like sugar and butter. Such a great bit to include for the novice. I think the only bad thing I can say is that she says Westsoy is the best tasting soy milk - I insist that Edensoy is much better!

WOW!
Who knew Soy could be so versatile? Marie Oser, I guess! Her recipes are wonderful - everything is so tasty, and she makes it so easy for us vegans. A great book - much used in my kitchen!
