Humour & the best book
Makes Physiognomy accessable to everyone & very understandable. Hilarious drawings!!!

Another way to see everyone
This book is the first book I have read completely through and flipped it over and am 3/4ths through again. I now see everyone differently! after studying the body's different ways with oriental diagnosis for health problems. Mr Ohashi has many macro-micro theorys for all parts of the body not just the feet as in Reflexology. Outstanding book to go along with any accupressure material.

The bible for learning about oriental diagnosis
"Reading the body", by W. Ohashi is a must read. From head to toe our bodies have external signs for internal troubles, and this book will show you how to find them to help yourself and others. "Reading the Body" is the one book that I always come back to as a reference. In fact, I'm buying my second copy of this book today since my first is worn out.

Very Highly Recommended!
Extensive photographs illustrate in a step-by-step fashion the basic techniques of zen shiatsu therapy. The author carefully and clearly explicates the philosophy and theory of shiatsu, including diagnostic methods, meridian lines of the body, using the hara. Sections on self-shiatsu and organ/system treatment round off a very full, very skillful presentation.

true understanding
this book is written by a true master of shiatsu. masunaga has taken his life work and written a concise book that serves not only as an introduction to shiatsu, but also has techniques for the advanced practitioner. mainly a book of techniques and diagnosis.

This is a modern classic
I cannot rate this book highly enough. It is an invaluable resource for professional Shiatsu practitioners or beginners. Masunaga takes you immediately into the world of Oriental Medicine with clear, concise descriptions of the theories that make OM a powerful healing force in the world today.

There are literally hundreds of photos, detailing his particular Shiatsu style, that will allow anyone to understand how to apply the techniques described. He also has a fine section on energetic diagnosis to assist with understanding when to apply Shiatsu and which techniques to use.

An additional section provides a series of Shiatsu stretches with manipulations to do for yourself. These are simple and effective. Learn them and use for your own well-being.

If you only buy one book on Shiatsu, let it be this one. It has been around for over 20 years and is still the one that I recommend to my patients for home helth care. I also use it when teaching graduate students at the Seven Gates Institute.

This book is also great for Martial Artists
Ohashi's work clarifies the placement, use, and properties of meridian lines and pressure points. It is also very easy to read and follow, yet very thourough in its coverage of detail. A must for any martial artist looking to expand their knowledge or those interested in mastering Shiatsu. Also a favorite of Mr. George Dillman - How about that for a sponsor!
