Metal Statistics 1990-1991
It is quite a reference work, well-laid out and researched. A bit dated though. However, if you need stats from late 1980's to 1990 this is the book to get.

My Favorite Husband
For any "I love Lucy" fan, you'll love these plays. If you're not a fan of Lucy, you'll still love it. These two episodes show why Lucille Ball is considered a legendary comedian and regardless of the fact that she's not in these episodes herself, the actors give brilliant acts.

Best Hard Copy Dictionary for a serious reader and writer.
I have never bought a dictionary since I was an undergraduate in college. I generally have added to my vocabulary by reading scientific dictionaries, or inferring meaning from usage, or, using the dictionary at the library that has a magnifying glass with it. I'm one of those people that they give IQ tests to and tell me that I am a genius. Ha. I still need to learn new things. The reason that I would buy this dictionary if I could get a copy of it is that it has the best explanations of word meaning and usage of any dictionary I have ever looked at. A previous employer had a copy of it, and I referred to it many times in the 3 years I worked for her. It is comprehensive and serves my needs. Random House, please put it out in another hard copy edition. I have 3 electronic dictionaries in my office now, but nothing to match the quality of this dictionary.

This book is very useful for learning English
I am an international student. I think this book helps me doing better in writing coz it's got many synonyms and antonyms. Another good thing about the book is that every word has it's own example (telling me where in sentence i should put this word and how i should use it). It's a pretty useful.

A hard book to find but worth the search
This might not be an easy book to find but it is worth looking for. It is the first book written by Jess Mowry and it very accurately describes what it was like to be a young black street kid in the late 1980s. It is a collection of stories that are related to each other almost like chapters in a novel and is about the life of thirteen=year-old Robby who runs away from Fresno California and hooks up with a gang of street kids in Oakland. It is very interesting to see how life was like for these kids back in the day before it became media cool to be a gangster and everybody had to have cool black threads that are usually made in China. In a lot of ways this book is a prediction of what would happen in the next decade of the 1990s. The stories are told in a simple and clear style of writing with no tricks that tells things like they are and lets the reader make his own judgements about them. I agree with the man who reviewed Jess's newest book Bones Become Flowers that if more people had listened and used their own sense ten years ago we might have saved a lot of our kids from gangs and drugs, and if kids had read this book they also might have saved themselves. I like the way things are presented in this book with no preaching. Robby's life is hard and violent in many ways but he is a young man with a good heart and his fight for dignity and survival is no different from that of other black kids today.
