I had to read this book for a project on courtly love. I really enjoyed this book. It taught me a lot about what courtly love is and what it truely means. The poems in it are truely a work of art and really grasp what the true meaning of courtly love is. You need to read this book if you want the absolute most out of what the term courtly love means. I reccomend this highly!

This book is a great source for purely Irish quotes - for those who are fiercely defensive of the homeland, those that love to mock it, or anyone else.

Since I was actually looking for those disgustingly trite bits of Irish wisdom, the ones that lend themselves to a great brogue and end with 'laddie, this book didn't exactly suit my needs. However, it does cover a wide variety of topics, has more than 2000 quotes and is current enough to include Sinead O'Connor and Bono, without forgetting Yeats and Anthony Trollope (although I suppose that wouldn't really be allowed, would it?)

The only fault that I found with this book was the formatting. For some reason I found the text style hard to read, and that doesn't happen often to me. Other than that its a great reference book for those of us that are Irish, but whose grandparents didn't remember to talk about it.
