Masterfully done by a man (photographer Michael James O'Brien) & a woman (Holly Brubach), who share a real appreciation of the fine art of cross- dressing & its trials & triumphs, this is the best, most caring analysis of drag & its artists I've ever read & the empathy & depth of perception caught by the photos (some color, some b/w) is alone more than worth the full price of admission (which I was glad to pay in the bookstore!)

As the proprietor of a drag performance club in New York, I eagerly awaited the release of this book, which had been rumoured about for almost a decade on the scene. Well, this book was worth the wait!

Brubach does a workmanlike treatment of the material, including some outstanding documentation of Parisian icon J. Alexander, but it's O'Brien's photos that make this book a must for anyone interested in transvestism, drag or late 20th century glamour. This former student of Walker Evans certainly carries on the documentary tradition brilliantly here, with this non-cliched, deeply sensitive portraiture.

You'll want to read this book. Its story has everything. It begins on a low key and gathers momentum with each page. There is love, violence, death, and eventual shock as the story reaches its climax. It is the best written work I have read recently.

The author demonstrates that he is quite adept at sustaining the reader's interest and buildup of tension as it relates to the life and loves of Edward McCartney. The story moves at a fast pace with plenty of action. It should be considered one of the best narratives of the season. My recommendation is to read this book and feel the fluidity in which the various events and happenings are described.

During the building of the Tollway, several historic settlements were found. This book documents the finds both in text tables and with photos... ponders the orientation of the graves (I'll leave you to find out more in the book) and carbon dates these early settlements in the Cal-Sag Valley.

I'm reading this book in Chinese,I love it! Our teachers never told me about it, they just teached us what is 'right'.

Excellent intro to politics text. I highly recommend it for a classroom or for anyone really who wants to sit down with a plain-spoken piece to get you to understand our government. Whether it is for someone with little knowledge as to who this vast bureaucracy works, or for someone with a fairly good knowledge of it all - I don't think it will disappoint.
I think what I appreciated the most was the honesty that the text was written. The authors also included a good amount of humor to emphasize the point (in cartoon, comic, Top 10 List, etc), in order to keep a reader interested.
I think this text is also a good reference as well, as there are numerous court cases and explicit examples of gov't at work - that if you are ever at a loss for "what was it that happened?" or "what does that term mean?" Things are extremely easy to find and be referred to.

I bought this book for a college class. I really like the cover, I don't know why. It has some pretty good facts in it besides the same ol' polysci stuff. If I wanted a text book just to have about the US government, I would probably get this one. It wasn't a bad price either.(I bought it from a dealer).

I needs many books with title of Total Quality management, because my disertation topic is TQM.
