READ THIS AND START PLAYING AGAIN. THERE IS HOPE!
After a year of computer/instrument tendonitis, I FINALLY found this book, which really gave a lot of good, CURRENT information. Better yet, I made the pilgrimage to see Dr. Paull in Stouffville, Ontario. It was worth the 10-hour drive. She gave me a lot of important information that contradicted a lot of misinformation given to me by well-intentioned doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, pharmacists, etc. who seem to just perpetuate the status quo of repetitive strain injuries and rehabilitation without really researching new information about them. Read this book, consult Dr. Paull and start playing again. Christine Harrison, the musician who co-wrote the book, had a musician's horror story to tell and she is now playing professionally again after a FIVE YEAR UNNECESSARY hiatus. The book also has excellent information regarding stretches, posture, excercises and anatomy. READ THIS BOOK AND GET THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO START PLAYING AGAIN! I did. I guarantee you can, too, if you follow Dr. Paull and Christine Harrison's advice. Good luck.

P.S. Doing hand strengthing excercises to get better? STOP NOW. You are probably hurting yourself. The only thing you should use to strengthen your hands is your instrument.

An indispensible book for every musician
Every musician who wants to avoid a playing injury or is recovering from such an injury should own this book. This is not a read-once book but a book to use and refer to until one has it memorized. It gives easy-to-follow instructions for safe warming up, exercises and stretches to do at home and even some for doing on stage, ways to avoid injury and means to stay healthy when one has recovered. The psycological and social aspects which confront injured musicians are sensitively dealt with in "The Athletic Musician". The title already tells us that this is a relevant approach to treating the subject of musician's health. Read it, it could save your career!

Moist, Moister, Moistest
Make sure you are with your partner when you read this. If not you make take matters in to your own hands (fingers).

I need more stories like this.

A great book on female sex, love and desire.
A book that both partners can really get into. It promotes thinking and gives plenty of thought for action. The stories are well written, never boring or dull; fast paced and very soft and sexy. It would truly be a tragedy if they were not true, but rather just the ramblings of a good imagineation. The authors are sharp, quick thinking, intelligent and give you an up-close view via your mind what female-to-female sex is really like. I, as a male who is facinated with the subject, found the stories to be about as real sounding as real sex can be. My hat is off to all those who practice lesbian sex truthfully, and with all of their heart, as any true relationship should be run. This book is great at any price anytime.

Human Sexuality at Its Best!
As an instructor of Human Sexuality, I have used several textbooks over the years and I always find that (while adequate) there is always something missing from each of them. You know what that means ... buying and using more supplementary materials.

This is the first textbook I have ever seen that is simply PERFECT just the way it is. I will use it in every single one of my future classes. The students, faculty and staff agree. This is the one Human Sexuality book the whole world should read.

Bravo!

Holidays and romance - what could be better?
If you're looking for a good read with some funny situations and interesting holidays - get this book. Each story is unique and a fast read. I disagree with the reviewer who said the stories were cliche. I thought the characters were interesting and quirky with the only cliche being that they each found "true love" in different settings and that really isn't cliche - it's a romance novel. Sit back with your cup of tea or coffee, a snack and enjoy this novel. You won't be sorry.

Wonderful, Fantasy, filled Holiday stories!!
As in many anthologies, they are often more difficult to write than standard length publications. The writing must be fast in order to keep the flow and continuity from one story to the next. I thoroughly enjoyed "Romancing the Holidays". This isn't your standard, one-holiday anthology. There's everything from Jewish holiday traditions to Halloween. What a surprise and quite refreshing! If you'd like a fun-filled, whimsical, fantasy anthology, this is the one for you. I kept on reading until the last story was over!

Wonderful, Fun Stories!
As in all anthologies, writers are faced with pacing their stories faster and to the point. Authors must keep those stories flowing. Stories like these are often much more difficult to write than standard, romance-length publications. But I found the stories in "Romancing the Holidays" greatly enjoyable, light-hearted and extremely imaginative. I went from one story to the next without putting the book down. And what a wonderful premise! It's highly unusual to find a series of short romances based upon different holiday themes. Any lover of the romance genre will happily embrace these stories. Whimsical, fantasy-filled, fun and original, if you like stories about holidays, filled with romance and happiness, "Romancing the Holidays" is a great read! This isn't just your typical over-done, one-holiday anthology. There's everything from romances in the Jewish holiday tradition, to Halloween and everything in between. Very original!

Feeding but not loving Christine
I admit I had high expectations of this novel telling the tale of four women in present-day USA. There are many, many novels out there for women, about women, by women, and unfortunately, I wasn't truly impressed with this one. The writing style was wonderful, although the conversations were hard to follow. It seemed like there were many "inside jokes" within the characters, and it made it hard for me, as the reader, to understand them. Some of the events were slightly unbelievable but gave me a laugh anyway. It's a quick read, however, and the theme behind the writing is worth your time.

A fun, quick read, great for a snowy weekend
Have you ever been so terribly upset that you did something absolutely stupid and crazy, but it turned out to be the best thing you could have done? Well, not me, either. But Teresa DiRosa does in Feeding Christine. Imagine facing Christmas without your college age son, who has chosen to spend the holidays with your ex-husband; imagine that around this time of year your beloved sister killed herself years ago; imagine that you have just discovered her daughter, your darling niece Christine, with a gun and the intent to kill herself. What would you do? If you can accept what Teresa does, you will laugh and love this book. It will give your heart wings and feed your soul. ANDDDD....you'll have a big craving for Italian food when it's done. Buon Giorno!

I really enjoyed this book
I thought this book was a little gem. It was so wonderful to read at the end of each day. The character development was wonderful and the meaning of life and love surrounding food was fun. I would recommend it as an enjoyable book

What you see is what you get
This is a deceptively simple book. It's designed to help people reflect on their own experience and use what they learn as a source of personal growth. The authors identify several self coaching opportunities or openings, and include exercises for working alone or with a coaching partner. They also provide a detailed self-assessment section plus a section on coaching "tools" like choice management and self-observation.

At one level, the book gives people simple guidance for learning from experience in ways that can help them realize their potential. But the quest can be much deeper - and with the same basic tools and techniques. Basically, this is a book that mirrors the reader. Those looking for quick and easy answers will find them. Those more interested in serious self reflection and inquiry will find rewards as deep as their curiosity and capacity can take them. I love the book - especially the questions and exercises -- and will tap its wisdom regularly.

Thinking Critically - Great for new or returning students!
This is the book I used for my 1st college class in many years.
There are tools in here, such as "mind mapping", that I am still using and will continue to use in much of my academic future. Lots of information learned here can easily be applied to work situations as well. Highly recommended.

Another Naiad anthology
Naiad has specialized in bringing out volumes of short stories by many of its more popular writers. You'll find a mixture of romance, mystery and erotica. This is the type of book you use for a few minutes of reading before going to sleep.
