My 21 month old toddler LOVED this book!
This was the first book with a substantial storyline depending on text that my young toddler daughter was able to sit through and enjoy. She was able to relate to and fully understand the very lovely stories about Newt's relationships with the other characters, Mouse, Newt's Bug, and the moon. This book also helped to increase her vocabulary and deal with feelings related to fears about going to sleep in the dark. The illustrations are also lovely and easy for a child to relate to. While this book was written for older children learning to read, it is also a terrific book for a younger child being read to. My only hope is that Matt Novak will write more stories about Newt. He is such a great character.

A funny unique way to learn lessons of compassion and caring
This book will make you, your child, or even any adult who reads it, laugh. It is a book you will want to read to your child over and over again. Newt learns lessons along his daily routine that makes it easy for your reader to understand.

Elmer Blunts Open House
My Two year old Daughter loves this book. She is an animal lover and there are many animals in this book. She has us read it to her 5 or 6 times a day. The story is funny and the illustrations are great.

Of sibling war & peace!
When Millie & Fred, in typical sibling fashion, can't agree on who their dog, Sam, loves best, they declare war & the feathers fly!

So Millie bops her brother & he bops his sister & before you know it, the whole world is in a pillow fight!

& where is Sam, the dog, during this global battle? Ahha! Buy the book & find out!

A good workout for that last jittery surge of energy before bedtime!

Differences aren't that important
My 5 year old son loves this book. We're learning not to pre-judge people (or robots) by what they look like or by the unusual, but harmless, things they do. The Robobots could be any new family in town (we're military and often that's us!), misunderstood at first but not really so different once the neighbors get to know them. The flying furniture and vocal kitchen appliances are ones we'd like to have! I'd recommend this book to help teach tolerance and not to make snap judgments.

Twelve Snails to One Lizard
This is a delightful book about the problems a beaver has measuring a log to repair the dam on his pond. His friend, Bubba Bullfrog, offers him many non-standard measurements that would be appropriate to use. All prove to be a pain for Milo, in more ways than one!Bubba realizes he has a yardstick at home to prove he's correct. What a great way to help children learn about equivalent measure! I recommend it highly.

Third Graders Review
Third graders recognized immediately that this is a story of inclusion and exclusion; a tale of learning to appreciate all people. When two witches begin planning their annual monster party, they find photo after photo of troublesome friends at last year's event. One-by-one they eliminate the mischief-makers until....
The eight and nine year olds enjoyed this picture book from the daffy dedication to the crazy conclusion. They commented on both the author's silly sense of humor and the illustrator's interesting use of animals. The third grade students loved the artwork style and found the font easy to read. They recommend this book for olders readers, as the pictures might be "too gross" for the pre-school set.
