An absolutely first-rate book in Behavioral Medicine.
This book covers a great deal of interest and practical value in the areas of Health, Medicine, and Psychology and how they interact. The sections have been written by well-respected experts in their fields. The book is organized in a way that makes it easy to use without resorting to the index. The writing is clear.

There is an introductory section with a brief review of psychological topics that are useful in understanding the remainder of the book and how psychology is applied to medicine.

There is another section dealing with the psychological aspects of health and illness.

The next section concerns itself with psychological assessment and intervention.

Following that is a section on professional health practice.

The final section is a compendium of scores of diseases and disorders discussed in the light of the interaction between psychology and medicine.

This book would be a fine addition to the library of anyone interested in the interplay between mind and medicine, and is a very useful resource.

You Cannot Go Wrong With This Anthology!!!
With stories like "Ferryman" (Eric Brown), "The White Stuff" (Peter F. Hamilton & Graham Joyce), and "A Night on Bare Mountain" (Graham Charnock), anthologies don't get any better than this. My only quibble is with the experimental narrative "Thirteen Views of a Cardboard City"(William Gibson) which rounds out the volume with a whimper, not a bang. Otherwise, this is Hugo & Nebula territory.

WOULDN'T BE BAD IF THEY COULD GET IT RIGHT
The information presented is fairly easy to understand, interesting, and seems to be thorough. So what's the problem? I have to say, I would absolutely love the textbook and its corresponding workbook if it wasn't for one truely frustrating aspect - there are way too many errors. It's incredible! Here's an example - a question regarding roman numeral conversions (pg 38 wkbk)- what is 14 in roman numerals? well, anybody who's gone through grade school could tell you it's XIV - the answer key tells you it's CIV (104!!). How about this one (pg 85 txt) - convert 1mg to g: ok, i'm thinking - DUH - .001g - correct answer, according to the answer key is .011g -- Now, this is not quite a big deal when it's very easy to tell the book is wrong (yet, again) - but then, when you get into more difficult calculations and you can't trust the answer key, it becomes very frustrating. When you take into account the fact that you've spent over $60 for the text and workbook and you can't count on the information to be correct it becomes enraging. There are also a plethora of idiotic typos to furthur insult you for sending these people your money. Example (pg 108 txt) convert 120 mcg to mg - answer according to the key: 120 mcg = 0.12 mcg - that's 0.12 MCG not MG. Or, how about his - convert 50% to a decimal. Answer according to the key: 50/100. Now, the last time I checked that was something called a fraction - a decimal looked more like this: .50 - This isn't even the tip of the iceberg. I just have one question for Morton Publishing Co...Do you guys happen to employ anyone there called an EDITOR? I just hope to God you all don't have anything to do with the answer keys the PTCB is holding in their possession. If you do, I quit now.

Textbook for Pharmacy Technician Program
If you have never worked in a pharmacy before and want to pass the pharmacy technnician certification exam, then you need more than just a certification review book. You will also need a textbook that explains comprehensively pharmacy laws and the operating procedures of a typical pharmacy. Because it isn't a certification review, be aware that it doesn't have enough practice problems. Overall, it is an excellent textbook to use with a workbook.

The Only Book a Pharmacy Technician Will Ever Need!
This wonderful book combines text and visuals to provide the most complete Pharmacy Technician book ever written. The authors of this book have done an outstanding job in bringing us an easy to read, easy to understand book on this subject. Don't Bother
I didn't find this book useful at all. This is not a technical book. In fact I'm not sure who the target audience is. I'm a system architect and implementor and didn't get anything from reading this book.

I did like the IPSEC - Securing VPNs by Davis. It steps through each aspect of IPSEC. It's a bit heavy on the math behind the encryption for my taste, but I found it easy to skip those parts.

Title
The nature of security management is changing rapidly. Just as physical security is becoming more noticeable in the workplace so too is information security becoming an indispensable component, as companies are putting their corporate jewels on publicly available networks.

Security was not part of the blueprint when the Internet was designed in the 1960s and 1970s. As the need for security became a pressing demand in the 1990s, the Internet Engineering Task Force, the overseer of the Internet, created Internet Protocol Security, or IPsec.

IPsec is a developing Internet standard for network-level security and is one of the most important security protocols to be developed in the last five years. IPsec is able to provide the level of transaction processing security that was lacking in the previous version of Internet Protocol.

While the authors do a good job of showing how IPsec works in theory, readers may find that there is not enough real-world information to justify its price. In large part that's because roughly one-third of the book is a copy of the IPsec RFC. Nor does the book detail how IPsec is specifically configured on devices such as routers and servers.

On the other hand, the book concludes with an excellent chapter about what to ask vendors. The questions provided in this book will help the prospective buyer differentiate between IPsec snake oil salesmen and those vendors whose products really do secure networks. Overall, however, the book is not required reading.

This book is no bible
This book does a fine job of filling you in on the hardware and software issues, leagal issues, and political issues surrounding IPSec. It touches on just about every topic even remotely related to IPSec. It does a poor job of telling you how to set up and implement any sort of IPSec networking. It was a well-written overview, but definitely not a book to base your entire network on. Though well-written, I found the network diagrams used in this book to be poorly designed and confusing. If you are looking for a basic intro to IPSec, then this one is great, otherwise, you'll probably want to read something else.
