A Must Have For Any Separation Situation
My children love this book, and so do I. This re-assuring book helps children understand that mom always comes back. Wonderful for the first day of preschool, child's first time with a new babysitter, or any situation where a child is sad that mom/dad is leaving. Beautifully written.

my granddaughter's favorite
When my daughter is on a business trip, this is the book my granddaughter wants me to read. Poetic and eloquent, it touches the heart whether you're two years old or the grandmother of a two year old. The book's subject - Mama's gone away but she'll be back soon - fills a true void in children's literature. It's wonderful!

Lovely water color illustrations and onomatopoeic text
The watercolors beautifully portray a rainy day as a joyous event for a darling little girl and her dog. The text gives you the feeling that you can hear the rain, and I especially love the page showing a dreamy little girl sitting by the fire saying to herself, "I'm getting very sleepy here." Every page makes you feel like you're right there. My 14 month old adores this book, as do I! It's meant for older children, but even a baby can appreciate lines that begin, "Ploomp, ploomp, ploomp..." and "Ping, Ping, Pingading, ping."

Rain Talk
This is a beautifully illustrated book to read to your children while curled up on the couch, in your favorite chair, or at bedtime. The author brings home the sounds and feel of rain so delightfully that no matter what the temperature outside, you'll wish it were raining!

Excellent!!!
I saw this at my mother in law's house and I'm buying it now!

The pictures depict a little boy looking for his red kite. As he looks he sees all the colors in the rainbow in the world around him.

The illustrations are lovely. The text is a sing songy type of text that makes this book easy to read and enjoy. The text is also very charming. For example: "A blue sky blue, a blue eye blue," on the page showing a blue sky adn siamese cats with dark blue eyes. "Well hello yellow bright and mellow..." and more.

Very enjoyable. A great review of the colors. A great way to introduce your child to the wide range of colors within a color.
Enjoy! I expect to for many years.

terrific introduction to colors
Beautiful, soft illustrations and gentle text make this book a gem. A boy is looking for something, not green, not blue etc.

A Year in All Its Natural Glory.....
Eileen Spinelli and Keiko Narahashi have authored a year of nature in all its wonder. From the cold winter days of "...January dark, and dappled deep, teasing you, easing you, out of your cuddle-down sleep..." to the wet spring "...April rain, a silvery spray, puddling streets and sidewalks, splashing away..." to the cool autumn nights "...October moon, plump as you please, teetering on rooftops, leaping the trees..." and the white world of "...December snow hugging the hills, roller-coastering merry sleds, pillowing spills..." this dynamic duo takes the reader on a month by month adventure, as the year quickly passes by. Ms Spinelli's gentle, rhyming prose is engaging and entertaining, and begs to be read aloud. Each verse is enhanced by Ms Narahashi's expressive and thrilling watercolor illustrations. Together word and art captures a unique characteristic about each month, and brings it to life on the page. Perfect for youngsters 3-7, Her Comes The Year is a creative and evocative experience the whole family can share, and makes a wonderful addition to all home bookshelves.

romping, lyrical, delightful and will be much-loved!
This rhyming, rollicking story is delightful and reminds me of more old-fashioned stories from my youth. It is simple and straight-forward, yet absolutely skilled in its use of capital letters to emphasize the letters of the alphabet and how they are used within the context of a memorable story of a girl riding a horse across the countryside. A is for Amos will definitely be a hit with your preschoolers and learning to read children. I have ordered several copies for our library in Oklahoma! Bravo!

Great imagination book
My two-year old and my six-year old both love this book, which he can read to her. My daughter spends most of her day pretending to be some kind of animal or other, and she gets a kick out of the fact that Josie does too. (In fact, Josie has increased her repertoire.) Beautiful, unusual illustrations, and the inside front and back covers include an additional half dozen drawings that connect Josie and an animal. A wonderful book.

A Wonderful Book
This is a fantastic story that should be shared between every mother and child. The questions asked by the child in the story are exactly the kinds of questions all preschoolers ask and the answers by the mother are honest and heartwarming. My son and I will be reading this for years to come.

Perfect "girlfriend" gift from one little girl to another
This simple, delightful little book is filled with the most beautiful pictures. The colorful, playful illustrations show little girls playing leap-frog, dancing, flying kits, even arguing and making up. I bought it first for my daughter, and then as a birthday gift from my daughter for the little girl next door. It's a wonderful gift from one little girl to another.

Great for a new big sister or a girlfriend
I have purchased this book several times as a gift to a young girl when her sister is born. It is also fun to give to adult girlfriends (especially those with daughters). The illustrations are beautiful. It celebrates the joy of having a girlfriend, which is so very important given that girls can be so cruel to each other.

catching and adorable
This book caught my eye as a gift for twin girls, and on reading it, It is a catchy, friendly, heartwarming and simple book to share with any little girl - I've bought it for the twins and anothergirlas a gift - seems appropriate for 3-5 year-olds.

This book is great!
Talking With Artists volume.3

This book is pretty interesting. It is about artists who share what they like to draw and about their lives. They are asked questions such as, "Do you have any kids or pets?" The illustrators show some of pictures that they drew when they were children. They also show how the children illustrators got their inspiration to draw.

I liked this book because it was neat to see how good some of the kids are at drawing and then to see them draw as they are older. Also that was cool it showed how to draw pictures in the back of the book. I recommend this book to people who are just stating to draw and people that want to read an interesting book.

Not Just for Kids!!
I got this book at the library for my children, but I think I enjoyed it as much as they did! (I plan to buy a copy of my own!) Instead of a cool, impersonal presentation of artists and their work, this book provides a refreshingly personal view. The artists talk about their childhoods, how they spend their days (the answers are fun & honest!), their families, and best of all, they give us peeks inside their studios. I don't know about you, but I love seeing inside of an artist's private workspace! It's like a glimpse inside his/her mind.
The styles of the artists are very diverse and they use many different techniques that kids and adults alike would like to try out. I highly recommend this book!
