This has become my Bible for living life.
Reading this book had a more profound effect on my life than hearing any sermon in a church. Trine succinctly and eloquently explains how and why we all must be "in tune with the Infinite." As the title page of his original 1897 book states, "Within yourself lies the cause of whatever enters into your life. To come into the full realization of your own awakened interior powers, is to be able to condition your life in exact accord with what you would have it." If he were alive today, I'm certain this would be an Oprah Winfrey "Book of the Month" club selection.

An excellent spiritual guide for living life.
This book is one of the best spiritual guidebooks I have everread. I strongly recommend this book to any person who wants to thinkthrough the meaning of life and is sincere about self-improvement. The best quote is probably "Life is not so complex if we do not persistently make it so...The springs of life are all from within. Invariably it is true--as is the inner so always and inevitably will be the outer." Another quote I like is "The great central fact in human life, in your life and in mine, is the coming into a conscious, vital realization of our oneness with this Infinite Life, and the opening of ourselves to this divine inflow." He discusses visualization, positive thinking and the need to become our own best friend: "In the degree that we open ourselves to the higher powers and let them manifest through us, then by the very inspirations we carry with us do we become in a sense the saviors of our fellow men, and in this way we are all, or may become, the saviors of one another." Get this book and help change the world into a better place by learning more about who you are in relation to the Infinite.

There is a golden thread that runs .......
Exciting, powerful - Henry Ford attributed his success to the inspiration he received from this book. Notes and highlighting are prolific in my dog-eared copy. The author addresses: What is God?(16), What is Thought?(24), What is the unseen side of life? (28), God is guiding me.(83), We can perform miracles now.(118), Send out your thought.(137), Don't surrender your individuality. (121), Building castles in the air. (26), Study the nature of thought.(24), etc. This classic was a best-seller when first printed in 1908 and continues on today in its timeless fashion. "There is a golden thread," Trine writes, "that runs through every religion in the world."

A Priceless Aid in Playin' Olde-Tyme Goodies
Many tune books are either too full of piano/guitar arrangements or too thin on the songs, but this book is just right - it gives you exactly what you need to bulk up on some classic and some rare tunes. I've been playing hammered dulcimer in a Danzig tribute band for seven years know, and I just don't know how I survived without this book - it's the best String Band Tune Book what can be found!

Awesome book!
I love this book! I got into bluegrass and old-time string band music a while ago (I'm a guitarist and fool around on the banjo and mandolin), and I've been looking for something like this for ages. Some of the guys I play with recommended this book to me, and it is really cool. In general, I try to learn tunes from records and by ear; but that can be tough, and I often wonder if I'm getting things right. This book basically spells everything out for you - melodies, chords and all (even lyrics). It's already helped me learn a bunch of tunes that I've always wanted to play, and it really helps to be able to come into a jam session with my friends with some music that we can all work from. Anyhow, it's a really great book, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to play this kind of music (and there are *all* kinds of tunes in it). I am *so* glad that someone else did all this work for me!

Fantastic - a must-have for music lovers
As a professor of music at a small college, I have to review dozens of books for our library, and I can honestly say that this is the finest book of its kind that I have ever seen. By providing immaculate transcriptions of so many classic tunes, Rainey has provided a sourcebook for expert practicioners that will be just as valuable to novice musicians who are itching to learn new material. His introductory comments are fascinating, and the overall organization and quality of the book put most other 'fakebooks' to shame. The range of tunes guarantees that there will be something here for everyone - blues, rags, ballads and country fiddle tunes are all represented, with clearly notated melodies, accurate harmonies and full song texts. At the risk of repeating myself, this is best book of its kind on the market; and whether you like to play for your own amusement, occasionally perform for your friends or play professionally, you *must* own this book.

Come Fiddle With Me
Ms. Hay has done a great service to the music loving public with the publication of this book. The accompanying CD enhances it greatly by allowing non-fiddlers to hear how the music should be played. This book with it's CD is a delightful experience.

i love fiddle music
this is a great book for beginners or people just looking for some new tunes. hope to see some more of miss hay's favorites.

Just interesting duets for violin
I have used this book of violin duets and find it most enjoyable and it is suitable for violinists of all ages. Such fun!

This is a wonderful book
I loved this book. It's so easy to use the phasing techniques. I highly recommend reading it.

Remarkable! Brilliant! A must have!
Dawnea Adams is a remarkable and brilliant woman. Here book is funny and inciteful, filled with interesting stories about her life and her work as a metaphysician. However, more than that, her meditations are remarkable. This book will help you tap into your higher power.

Allan Macdonald's Old Time Fiddle Tunes

Good way to open up to some original sounds
I'm a beginning fiddle player and I enjoyed this book because the songs are a nice change of pace and have a genuine sound and melody. As someone who doesn't read music well, I'd recommend contacting the publisher for the accompanying CD.

Good old time fiddling tunes at their best!
Allan MacDonald's collection of original old time style fiddle tunes is a great mixture of catchy, fast-learn waltzes, hoedowns, schottisches, and two-steps for master fiddlers or beginner fiddlers alike. For those fiddlers who learn new tunes by ear, there is also a tape or CD of these tunes available from Allan MacDonald's MCCBS Studio. The tunes, played by Allan MacDonald himself, were recorded at his studio in North Idaho, a beautiful mountainous area from which he selected the names of many of his tunes.

Et toi!
"Et toi" is the title for this review because "you too" should get this book! I agree with fellow reviewer Adam. This is a fun, fun book and tape collection. I have only been playing fiddle for a year and in no time I was playing some of the tunes in this book. There are some lovely waltzes, some foot stompin' dance tunes, and lots of tunes with double stops for that unique Cajun sound. My only regret is that my tape player is a bit slow, so my fiddle at standard tuning is out of tune with the tape. I would like to play along with the author, so I would prefer a CD.

Cajun Fiddle Book Review
This is one of the best fiddle books I have ever purchased. The music is simplistic, yet each tune has a twist or quality that makes it sound unlike any other and becomes addictive to play over and over. The cassette also gets better with each listen.

Carburetor Performance
I have been around cars for more than fourty years,This book was still a great learning Tool.
Clearly written and detailed,Linked up a lot of pieces of Information I had.And put it in order

Excellent treatment of the subject
I received my copy of this book last night. Although I have only read the first 25 pages, they are excellent and I now understand the principles of carburetion much better than before.

I have previously spent quite a bit of time studying Pat Braden's book on Weber Carburetors, which is a good book specific to Webers. However, Aird's book (to me) provides a much clearer explanation as to the principles involved. Aird is especially helpful in his passages about how and why the air correction jets and emulsion tubes work and how they interact with each other and the main circuit.

As a novice trying to understand and tune my Webers, I'd still buy both books, but I would rely primarily on Aird for comprehension of why the darn things work the way they do.

I feel like a nerd getting excited about a carburetion book, but hey, epiphanies are where you find them.

Fantastic and important for any motorsport professional
This book in unquestionably the bible of motorsport set-up. It is an absolute must for anyone who considers themselves a professional in this industry. .... He is one cool guy and a heck of a guru!

I bought Carroll's whole set of books with skepticism, but they helped me improve my game as a driver, and I am much more able to discuss with my engineer now. My engineer gave me his old ratty copy (it was obviously very heavily used) and ordered me to get a copy of my own. I AM VERY GLAD I DID.

I learned more in the preface about racing than I have in years and thousands of dollars of engineering and racing schools! The reason is that all of the pertinent information is directly provided to you - right up front. It is concisely organized to help you get the most out of yourself and your racing machine.

Every car lover should read this book
I enjoy driving my car - in the most active sense. I enjoy being involved in the experience, and I like to know how things work in general. Although I spent a little time as a mechanic, I am certainly not an engineer, nor am I interested in racing as a participant. I do enjoy driving my cars on the track - but I compete against myself. I LOVED this book.

Tune to Win was at once educational and entertaining. I expected the education, but the entertainment was a pleasant surprise. Smith writes very well, making otherwise extremely dry material absolutely fascinating. Even though this book is now quite old, it is still very relevant. The descriptions of vehicle and tire dynamics, as well as the effects of suspension design upon them, were "just right" for me. They were technical enough to satisfy me, and at the same time they were light enough that I could follow them. There is some math, but high school algebra is sufficient to follow every example.

Smith's approach combines carefully explained laws of physics with pragmatic sensibility when it comes to where and how one might realistically effect a change in their car's performance

For all of the guys out there adding strut braces, sway bars, after-market springs, changing ride heights, wheel offsets - all without truly understanding what all the implications are - this book should be required reading.

The Great Ones Make it Look Easy
Ever heard that phrase before? That's exactly what Mr. Smith has done with "Tune to Win". The breadth of his experience becomes obvious very quickly. Yes, it was written in the seventies, but, the last time I checked, Newton's Law of Gavitation (1687?)was still applicable. Mr. Smith has saved the 95% of racers who haven't turned pro at least five years of research and development time. Thinking of changing your car's suspension geometry? Why do you need to keep the roll center height low? Loose is fast, but how loose? Where does understeer drag affect the car the most? Considering all real professionals are continously looking for every little thing that will make their cars faster, I'm sure they read this book as soon as it became available. "Tune to Win" will show you how to find the best set-up for your car and conditions and driver. There are many suspension books on the market, but this one goes far beyond "to reduce understeer, soften the front anti-roll bar". If you haven't read it, and you want to win, you need to. My highest possible recommendation.
