Like other readers, I hated to see each story end, and hope the author writes some novels. The stories really drew me in, involved me, and helped me to understand the context and the heart of the characters. Really much more to this books than it looks from the size!

These stories are beautiful and compelling. I wanted them to go on and on! It would be wonderful to see a full length novel from this talented and gifted new author.

I enjoyed this collection immensely. The stories are wide ranging and literate, more in the New Yorker vein than contemporary flashiness. They cover every range of life, from childhood to old age. Highly recommended.

This book is great for anyone who wants to go out for a short Bike ride in the morning or evening or anytime. The instructions to get to a riding route are easy enough to follow that a person can usually find the route without a map, Although it is always good to have one. The book gives sites to see along the routes, as well as difficulty, Safety, and a detailed map with text describing what to do with all 36 routes. All in all a good book for any one who wants to go for a short, scenic bike ride in Connecticut.

Jane Austen is among my favorite authors, and I had hoped this book would highlight some of my favorite quotes. Unfortunately, it did nothing of the sort. Many of the quotes seemed to have no other purpose than to fill up space on the page. One page, for example, says only "In a country neighbourhood you move in a very confined and unvarying society" (Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice). At least in that particular example the quote was attributed to the correct person. There are some where this is not the case, for example "A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony, in a moment." This quote is incorrectly attributed to Miss Elizabeth Bennet instead of to Mr. Darcy. Another example is Henry Tilney's discussion with Catherine Morland on the relationship between dancing and marriage; that quote is incorrectly attributed to John Thorpe. The quality of this book is not equal to its cost; don't waste your money on it.
