I READ THIS BBOOK BECAUSE I AM A CREW'member son and I FIND THIS BBOOK VERY REALY HAVE YOU AN ITALIAN EDITION?

A treasure
When he wrote this book, Alvin Moscow was a reporter (AP, I believe), and in Collision Course he produced one of the greatest news stories ever written. You literally live the agony of the Stockholm's junior officer who had the con when the Andrea Doria inexplicably crossed his bow. You live the agony of Captain Calamai as his magnificent ship does what modern ships are not supposed to do - capsize. There are heroes (among them four heroic ships) and there are cowards, there is tragedy and there is triumph. As a sample of journalistic skill this book has no equal. I have read and reread this vivid and fascinating account of a marine disaster many times. It is a permanent and dog-eared treasure in my non-fiction library.

An excellent account of the loss of the ANDREA DORIA
On the night of July 25, 1956, the Italian liner ANDREA DORIA collided with the Swedish liner STOCKHOLM off Nantucket Sound. The DORIA sank the next morning in 225 feet of water. This is the classic case of "radar-assisted collision" (both ships detected each other 20 minutes before the collision!). "Collision Course" is an excellent account of how the collision came about, and why the DORIA (built to modern damage stability requirements) still sank anyway. The photographs of the sinking DORIA are gripping.

Give It to Your Protege
Best there is! Order all the used copies you can because you'll be passing them out for youe entire career. Has the usual self serving pap that infects this genre, but the essence of what it means to MANAGE shines through (I use the snow shovels in Minnesota line every time some manager excuses bad performance by telling me that sales are down "everywhere"). Six Sigma, Kaizen, re-engineering: they'll all fade ... and this meat & potatoes book will still be invaluable.

Best Management How To Book
Best how-to manage better book I've ever read. No fluff, no unproven theories. Written by a man who has actually done it. Managers at all levels and in all types of businesses can benefit from this book. Buy it now before it goes out of print again.

A must read, in order to solve your curiosity of Patty!
I was not even born when around the era of Patty Hearst. But having visited the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, it really caught my attention. After having read the book I now have a better image of what happened and from her side. If you thought she was guilty before, you wont after reading this I gave it only 4 stars because I thought she could have talked more about her life after the SLA and the trial so that we could know what she is doing now and how she managed to get her life back together.

Another Look
Having been born a generation after anyone spoke of P. Hearst, I hadn't expected the bitterness of so many people after I praised this book.

Whoever Patty Hearst was, her insight and perspective of the SLA members and personal philosopies and ambitions ist truly worth reading. And if you're one to judge, it's an excellent opportunity to see the indivudal off the media's personal stage.

Patricia Hearst defends her right to live
The SLA kidnaps her. The SLA locks her in a closet. The SLA has rifles aimed at her in the bank. The government tries to kill them. The government imprisons her.

Go figure.

Nice reading for a motivation seeker
Building a business is a nice book, not a must to read, just to see what a simple men can do when they believe in their success.

The bad side of the story is that it is not the Jim Walker story, because you do not even learn about his marriage, if or if not his marriage was good or suffered from his work, even not if there are children and so on.

Anyway, a nice book that leaves you with some more confidence in the still possible American Dream.
