Very strongly recommended for students of the occult
Compiled by Mark Alan Morris, The Ghost Next Door is a collection of chilling stories of paranormal encounters, as told by everyday men and women. Careful description and attention to detail make these tales eerily believable and truly spooky. From the woman who was visited by her grandfather on the night of the old man's funeral; to the playground where one particular swing is always occupied by a ghost; to the home in Texas that was visited by a ghost who came all the way from Gettysburg, the tales comprising The Ghost Next Door are very strongly recommended for students of the occult.

Perfect for Stormy Nights!
I just finished this book and I have to say it is a keeper! If you like to settle down in the evening with a good book about hauntings, this is for you. The stories keep you on the edge of your seat, and the really creepy thing is that they are all true. I love the way the author sets up each story with a little bit of commentary. It really sets the mood for the spooky stories that follow! This is a great little book for anyone who likes ghost stories. Be sure to add this one to your collection.

Recommended Reading for Ghost Story Lovers!
The Ghost Next Door is a great little book to curl up with in your favorite chair on a spooky night. It really pulls you in with the author's commentary and stories that are told from the first-person perspective. I found it refreshing, since all of the stories are new, and have never been told before. It really makes you wonder if there are any ghosts around you as you're reading it!

Excellent Guidebook - Very Entertaining For Weekend Drives
This is an authoritative guide to the "roads less traveled" in Nebraska. I loved it. I have an old worn out copy. I used it on weekends to travel the backroads to explore...and find those quaint little sites no one else goes to. I wish there was a companion guide for each of the other States. Excellent guidebook...inspired by Mrs Lamb...a true Nebraskan. Go Big Red!

Outstanding Reference Material
This book was a godsend, it not only prepared us for our ISO audit, it supplied information that was not obtainable on the net or through government agencies. Since the purchase of this book I have had other departments request this for their own review.

The departure from my current position of Database Custodian to Sr. Data Coordinator is a direct result from some of the information utilized from this book in the preparation for our departmental standards and guidelines.

I have requested from my new Dept. Manager that we purchase this book for reference due to the fact that the original copy will be utilized by my replacement.

Try it you'll like it. G.Schroeder PSQA Allergan Inc.

Well researched includes many fascinating historical figures
Although this book is the biography of Nancy Randolph, who was the daughter of one of the great Virginia planters, Unwise Passions is rich with history of Virginia, and it has a cast of characters that includes not only the haughty Randolphs, but also Thomas Jeffereson, Patrick Henry, and John Marshall. This book offers a valuable look at the lives of historical figures that we have previously known only as public figures of great stature. Here the reader gets a "real" view of these figures. The research process for this book was obviously conducted painstakingly with excellent results. It is an delightful read. It brings all the characters to life. I would like to go back to some of the original documents. I hope tjhat Mr. Crawford will write another book, bringing the history of our country into real focus for us.

Gripping, fascinating tale of scandal, love, and crime!
Highly recommended: If you're fascinated by true-crime stories, American history or just like a good read, you should really enjoy this compelling story about the Crime of the (18th) Century. Imagine a cross between Dominick Dunne, Stephen Ambrose and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and you'll get a sense of the author's power at telling a gripping tale. The book tells the story of a young, tempestuous aristocrat, Nancy Randolph, part of the legendary Randolph clan of Virinia, who is accused of killing the love child she had with her brother-in-law, Richard Randolph. The two Randolphs were defended by Patrick Henry and even Thomas Jefferson was caught up in the family's crises. The book then traces the fate of Nancy Randolph in the wake of the scandal that clouded her name forever, as she tried to remake herself as the wife of Gouverneur Morris of New York, a signatory of the Declaration of Independence. The story is played out against the crumbling of the Virginia tobacco aristocracy and the politics and passions that swept America in the wake of the American Revolution. This is as riveting as any book published so far this year. I loved it, and I think you will, too.

Unwise Passions review
This is a fun and fascinating book. It is a great story, all the more so because it is true. The characters are among our country's founding families, including Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson. The author shows us the very human side of the people involved. He smoothly works in quotes of letters to and from the characters to give us an eyewitness account of people and events. Crawford tells the story impartially so we are free to draw our own conclusions and opinions. I found myself unable to put the book down and read it in a weekend.

By Honor Bound
I loved this book so much, I went out and got the rest to the series to read. The story line and the characterizations of the characters are incredible. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read!

Honor Bound
I am a very picky reader. I love to read, but it has to be the perfect story line. If you know what I mean. Lots of people think of Christain books as being boring. that is what I thought when I saw this book. After a friend told me to read it I was wrapped up in the story line! I even went out of my way to find, and buy the rest in the series! This book, By Honor Bound, is a story of real life problems, plus heros and heroines that will stay in your heart. If you are looking for a book (or books) to read, find one of the Guardians of the North books and dig in!!!

A wonderful Book
I have read the first 2 of the Guardians of the North so far. I have enjoyed them immensley and can't wait to read the others! I would definately recommend these books to anyone who enjoys history, a romance, or a wonderful Christian novel! I have enjoyed many other novels by his father Gilbert Morris. I have read the entire House of Winslow series and can't wait for the latest book to come out! I would certainly recommend this book to anyone willing to read it!

Excellent reading but wait for the final book to be released
I found both Beginning of Sorrows and Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters to be a very good read and they held my interest throughout. The quality of these books is in line with the Left behind and Christ Clone Trilogy series. The one draw back is that according to Thomas Nelson Publishing, Author Gilbert Morris has held up the release of the third book until he decides if he is going to extend the series or begin a new project. I would recommend waiting until he makes a decision before reading these books so as not to be left waiting for the conclusion. Mr. Morris has shorted all of us who have purchased his books and been left waiting over a year for the conclusion.

Don't get started with this series - YET
The book is excellent. However, I should have paid more attention to the other reviews of this book. YOU CANNOT FINISH THE SERIES BECAUSE THE THIRD BOOK IN THE TRILOGY IS NOT AVAILABLE!!! I would wait to buy either of the books in this series until the third book is published. You thought the Left Behind series left you hanging from year to year. At least they have put out a schedule so you can plan for the next release. There is absolutely no information on the release of the third book in this series. I am mailing a letter to Thomas Nelson Publishing. It is a shame that the "marketeers" of the world are deciding when we should be allowed to read a book. And this is a real shame since these guys are suppossed to be christian publishers. The Rapture is going to happen before we ever get a chance to finish either of these series. If you want one that is finished read the "Christ Clone Trilogy". At least these guys knew how to finish what they started.

fallen stars bitter waters
i will have to agree with others regarding the missing volume in this series. i have, regrettably been put in a position not to recommend series by this author as a result of this incomplete set. mr. morris did a great job setting this up and should have been allowed to finish this work. please reconsider.

A must for the Pulmonary Function Laboratory
This book is full of useful evidence based information. I find the PFT and other predicted equation explanations, normal values, and limits of normal to be most useful.

This book is written by the experts in the field of pulmonary medicine. It is one of the books that should be on the shelf of any pulmonary function laboratory.

Captivating! Can't wait to read the next one!
I read this book in less than 2 days. I just couldn't put it down! I had to know what was going to happen to the characters. There is a lot of detail to the plot. So much so sometimes it's a drawback to the plot. There are many, many characters to keep track of, which can be difficult at times. However, it's well worth it. I could easily see the real-life plausibility of the story line: the environmentalits, the realiance on thechnology, the downsizing of the military. This is one of the things that made the book so good. The other thing that makes this book good is that the reader gets some biblical information to back up the plot and the characters. It's not just "science-fiction" and it's not just blither...and it's not preachy. The book let's anyone see that it could happen to them, even without the Christian element of the story. I have already purchased the second book of the trilogy, "Fallen Stars, Bitter Water" and I can't wait until the final book, "Seven Golden Vials" is released!

An unusual twist on End Times Fiction!
I highly recommend this book and it's 2nd part, Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters. These books are a world apart from traditional End Times fiction, such as "Left Behind." If you can get past this author's idea that everyone in the future has a weird and lengthy name, you'll find an engrossing (if complicated) plot and a diverse group of characters. I'm very frustrated by the publisher's decision to NOT publish part three of this trilogy, but I still recommend reading the first two.

Great Reading !!! But feel Betrayed
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading both books in this series - Book 1: The Beginning of Sorrows and Book 2: Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters. The characters are wonderful and well written. I have been politley harrassing the neighborhood bookstores in search of the third in the trilogy. Only now to find out that the publishers are betraying their readers by deciding to not release the final book. I think it is dispicable on the part of the publishers for not releasing the third and final book of this trilogy. With the End Times seeming to be looming before us even more now than ever, I would hope that the publishers and authors of end times novels would realize the overwhelming interest in God inspiring literature, and realize the reponsibility that they have to readers that are seeking inspiration and answers to their own questions about God's love.
