Each New Day
Corrie ten Boom is timeless. We all need someone to look up to and Corrie is a wonderful mentor and inspiration to Christians everywhere. I have read this book several times and have purchased it for gifts as well. The reader will refer to it again and again and receive many blessings and great direction. Corrie always seems to touch on whatever is troubling you. You will not be disappointed. The Hiding Place which is the story of her life is also a wonderful book.

Each New Day Gets Better and Better
This book is very encouraging and uplifting! It gives one so much direction on how to live the life of a Christian, day to day. There are 365 devotions, as well as a short passage from Corrie, with relevant scriptures to match, and Corrie's prayer for the reader. There are so many examples Corrie uses from personal experience and each one of Corrie's books remain so anointed! There is a wealth of information in this book that brings us Corrie's lifetime of lessons. I hope this book will bring you the joy Corrie intended you to have, in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Corrie ten Boom - My Inspiration...
How wonderful to know how Corrie lived her last five years on earth. Her only goal in life was to bring others to Jesus, who she loved and lived for. Her relationship with Jesus and how she lived is something we should all strive for. What an inspirational book. It was like Corrie herself was talking to me. Though she is now in heaven God still uses her to speak to us.

Last days of Corrie ten Bonn
I had always wondered how Corrie ended her days on Earth. This book is a well written witness of how she overcame difficult situations in her last days and how she never stopped showing God's love, even when unable to speak. A must reading for all those who love Corrie's books and a message to cheer us during difficult times.

Essential
If you teach young kids and use songs and rhymes, this book is a must have. It has lots of fun activities to use for each song. Some of the songs are not in the month I would have thought logically but most of the ones you will use are in there. It gives you enough ideas to come up with your own unit from each song.

An Excellent,Excellent Resource!
I am a Pre-K/Kindergarten teacher who is also the mother of a three year-old and a 2 month old. I use this book in and out of the classroom. It combines traditional children's songs, rhymes and finger plays with activities that cover all content areas. I try to buy books that are arranged thematically and/or seasonally and this accomplishes both. I must admit I love Pam Schiller. I also have her Creative Resources Book:A Complete Childhood Curriculum( I think that is the title) Anyway, her books are so thorough that lesson planning was made less of a chore. Now that I'm on maternity leave my 3 yr. old and I use this book almost daily. Early childhood educators should get this and her other books. I am working on getting all of her books (I'm a bookrat). Also recommended Hang Loose with Mother Goose by Dayle M. Timmons. She gives numerous activities using many nursery rhymes including clip art. She also arranges them under at least twenty early childhood themes eg. Little Miss Muffet and/or The Itsey, Bitsey Spider and their activities could be taught as you teach a learning unit on insects. This is a fun book.It has pocket chart activities, mini-books, rebus activities and simple cooking activities.

Gorgeous, instructive book.
Absolutely lovely book- I've read as many wreath and garland books as I can get my hands on, and this book is superior to most. The quality of the photos and instructions, as well as the great variety of projects, materials, and quantities (of materials) used, contribute to the beauty of this book. I love their many ideas for roses, especially, and lavendar. Great book.

The author is not a doctor but writes from experience
I found this book to be helpful because Ms. Moore herself has experienced the pain and frustration of depression. All the other books I've read on depression were written by doctors who were presenting it from a medical or psychological sense. She avoids touching on the medical aspects (the word "serotonin" appears once) and focuses primarily on the changes she made in her life to help her recover from depression. She also helps the reader understand the importance of supporting and helping a depressed loved one, and she provides instruction on how to effectively do that. My husband is reading this book now to try to understand how I feel and what I'm going through, and he says he's finally "getting it." The one thing that really clicked with me in the book was when she talked about how hard it was to read her Bible and learn new things while she was depressed. So, she said she focused on Biblical truths and basics -- in other words, she clung to what she knew to be true. That just makes so much sense, and I'm so glad she brought that idea forth.

The first steps of healing for the depressed Christian.
This book changed my life. I was one of those people who thought depression was the result of a faultering reltaionship with God. If someone was in a right relationship with God, trusting Him and relying on Him in all circumbstances, how could he or she be overcome by such a worldly "fault" as depression? I didn't believe it could be an illness, it had to be the person's fault. This was my mentality until I went through a seveare depression myself. I searched my life wondering where I went wrong, fighting each day the fact that I was clinically depressed.

If you are struggling with the fact that you are a christian who struggles with something as helpless and debilitating as depression I fully recommend this book. Moore speaks with sincerity and through experience that will encourage you to accept what is going on and know what steps to take next. Know that Moore does not speak from the perspective of a medical professional, but instead through experience, and advice and comments from many others who have seen or experienced depression.

I also highly recommend this book to any Christian who thinks that depression is the person's fault, something they need to work out of, or due to a fault in his or her relationship with the Lord. I am so thankful someone has enough heart to share the truth of depression with those of us who don't understand. This book will give you a more realistic perpective on what depression is, how it is dealt with and how to help hurting Christians around you.

I recommend this book to anyone who is experiencing depression in themselves, or in loved ones.

A Great Resource -- A Biblical, Sensitive View
I am a Christian who went through a severe bout of clinical depression five years ago. The Christian community is in desperate need of those who are willing to share their stories and help remove the stigma of this illness. It is time to lift the cover and allow Christians to seek treatment without shame and embarrassment.

Pam Rosewell Moore does an excellent job of handling the subject in a very sensitive and Biblical manner. Yes, it is possible that depression is the result of sin in your life and that avenue must be explored as the Holy Spirit will work to convict us of sin and call us to repentance. However, clinical depression is an illness, not caused by a lack of faith or sin, that requires medical intervention and treatment.

Moore also very sensitively addresses the issues of medication and counseling -- two areas that Christians seem to have a problem accepting. How I wish this book had been available to me as I suffered, and I can unequivocally recommend it. It is a great resource to the depressed and to the families and friends of the depressed.

For those trying to trust God's will amidst uncertainties.
I was given this book many years ago by a very wise friend. The things I learned through this author's life, a woman who told God all the things she would 'never' do, have stuck with me. She eventually decided to let God be in charge...she "put her hand into the hand of God" and found herself doing all those very things...and living a life more fulfilling than her wildest dreams. She quotes a stanza from a hymn that has since become an achoring thought for me as well...."Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth. Shelters thee under his wings, ye, so gently sustaineth. Hast thou not seen? All thy desire e'er hath been granted in what HE ordaineth." My life, too, has been far different than the scenario I told God I wanted. And many times it has been challenging as I kept walking into uncertainty after uncertainty (including Him leading me to the mission field) trying to trust in His control and purposes for me...trying to not second guess Him, thinking I knew the best way to run my life. As the title of the book says "Put your hand into the hand of God, and that will be to you as light, and safer than a known way"

This book should be read to all who know God is the way!
When I first read this book, I found that Pamela and I have the same interest in a fulfilling life. She wanted to be married as soon as possible before growing old. I feel the same way. Her love for Christ and patience gave me the strength to wait on God's calling for a mate. This book was very excellent and well written. I told all of my friends about this book.

a review from a French girl who read it
L'Enfant from Jules Vallès belonged to a trilogy which he wrote at the end of his life and which contains the following books : L'Enfant, Le Bachelier et L'Insurgé. It deals with a child who appeared as being a scapegoat for his relatives and more generally for his surrounding. The language used by Jules vallès is modern. However, the story of Jacques Vingtras was written in 1875.

Beautifully Written
Every generation needs a Christmas tale to call its own. Moore has created just such a story in Santa & Pete. I'll not fall into the debate about historical accuracy. Instead, I'll just say that this book does not apologize for its "feel good" manner and certainly succeeds in warming the reader.

After reading this little treasure, I bought two dozen copies for Christmas. For those Grinches who would sooner argue over the "facts" presented in the story, I'd ask that they read it again. Perhaps the message of love and hope for a world where people are at peace with others would shine through. It certainly did for me.

The best new tradition since Rudolph!
This book has touched me. Not since "Tuesdays with Morrie" have I been so moved. "Santa & Pete" is the perfect book for anyone raising children and also anyone wanting to get the Christmas spirit back. It teaches and inspires us to transcend race, cultural issues, religion, age and any other prejudice we may knowingly or unknowingly harbor. It teaches us to value our family and friends. It teaches giving and charity. And it does it all in the very very entertaining story format involving a grandfather and grandson. This book could be the start of a better world! It should be required reading. Thank you Christopher Moore and Pamela Johnson!

A Really Great Find
Santa and Pete is a wonderful story that reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas. Bags of coal to the reviewer who felt St. Nick was diminished. And two bags of coal to the reviewer who would keep such a great story from black children. I will repeat what others have said, this book is a Christmas gift in the best sense of the word. It is almost unforgiveable what our culture has done to the incredible story of the real St. Nicholas. Sinterklaas and Piet the Moor is the story we should be telling all of our children each and every year. I would recommend this delightful book to everyone. And my deepest thanks to the dear friends who gave their 30 year old friend this precious little book for Christmas.
