Dwells on what it means to be mortal and human
The Pearls Of The Stone Man by Edward Mooney, Jr. is a riveting and complex novel of bridging the gaps between generations, and attempting to reconcile in the wake of impending mortality. Joseph and Anne Marion are very much in love even after 53 years of marriage, and find themselves confronting the inevitable reality of eventual one will lose the other in death and be left behind alone for months that could well stretch into years. Love, heartbreak, and adapting to the inevitable progress of time are central and familial themes to this poignant and highly recommended novel that dwells on what it means to be mortal and human.

Fantastic
This is a beautiful story of a man and relationships with his true love, a mountain, and some teenagers in desparate need of love. It's a powerful description of what Joseph goes through after losing the person who mattered so much in his life. It shows that you never stop loving, no matter what. Also, that everyone deserves love. I cried buckets and smiled lots. A well written novel, it's just so great! I want a sequel!!

One of the Best Books I Have Read
Edward Mooney has written one of the best books I have read. Not only is he a great author, but I happen to know him personally, my old high school teacher. When reading the book, I didn't want to put it down. If your looking at reading this book or are interested in a great book, then go ahead and read it. This is one that you will not put down, it feels like you are actually in the book and you actually know the people. Mr. Mooney, thank you for being a great teacher and continue with your great work.

A masterpiece of Socratic/existential reflection on life
Edward Mooney is owed a great debt of thanks for reprinting this lost classic from the 1960s in the tradition of Thoreau's *Walden Pond.* *The Inward Morning* is a reflection on life in journal form comparable to Dag Hammerskold's *Markings,* but far more profound philosophically. Bugbee, a former Harvard professor, records his own most provocative thoughts about the nature of individual selfhood, our relations to others and the environment, how we articulate our goals and passions, our way of finding a place in the world and a sense of attentive/responsive connection to being in general, and so much more. It is a book not only for professional philosophers (who will find it full of insights in moral psychology and philosophical anthropology), but just as much for students and laypersons still searching for answers to life's most profound questions. It would make an excellent addition to a syllabus for a course on the Meaning of Life, or Philosophy in the Wilderness (say along with Thoreau, Emerson), or perhaps even Deep Ecology (along with Leopold and Naess). It would also make a great gift for anyone with a love for a penetrating and endlessly novel perspective on human existence.

Powerpuffs save the day!
"Frighty Night," by E.S. Mooney, is #9 in this series of Powerpuff Girls stories. The book series is based on the popular TV show "The Powerpuff Girls," created by Craig McCracken.

Just in case you don't know about the Girls, the book includes a transcription of the dialogue from the show's opening credits. The Girls are a trio of superheroes who also attend Pokey Oaks Kindergarten in the City of Townsville. In this book, the Girls investigate a supposedly haunted amusement park.

"Frighty Night" does a pretty good job of capturing the spirit of the show; most of the dialogue in the book actually reads like it could come from a television episode. The colorful illustrations look just like the visual style of the show. But overall, I thought the book couldn't fully reproduce the manic, zany energy of the series. I think that some characters are just harder to "translate" from one medium to another. Still, "Frighty Night" is good fun for Powerpuff fans.

It's cool...
I read a lot of Powerpuff books and I really enjoyed this one. It's mysterious and reminds me a lot of a Scooby Doo episode-- you know, with the deserted park, and the monsters and all... the Mayor was even captured as well! We don't see that too often in most books... And the illustrations were great and the story was well written.
