I used to love these books as a kid, and even though invariably thought that those by Edward Packard were the best. This was my third favorite book, behind two other Edward Packard CYOA books Hyperspace and Survival At Sea. This book is only book in the series that also features a unique "special ending" that cannot be encountered through normal decision making. Can you stumble upon paradise?? Get the book to find out!

Recommended for anybody who enjoys the Choose Your Own Adventure genre, and especially for kids who enjoy science fiction.

The greatest book ever.

One of R. A. Montgomery's most sophisticated and bleak works, Last Run takes the reader inside a murky and sinister conspiracy. The protagonist is more richly detailed than most "you" characters, the setting (the Italian Dolomites) is interesting, and the endings, while largely unhappy, are dramatically satisfying. A must-read for all CYOA lovers.

I really enjoyed it, but for some reason, I could not find a ending where I demolished the Meridians. I wish that I did though. I thought that the plot was perfect. This was my most challenging Choose Your Own Adventure ever! It was well written and what I would say was the most wonderful and greatest book ever published. As a critic and fan of Choose Your Own Adventures, this was the literary masterpiece of young adult fiction everywhere. I acclaim it as a 10

I've read this book at my library and I could hardly stand to give it back!

A cold war era vision of a future where the United States disintigrates into smaller regions, where one specifically in the west (called Dorado) falls into totalitarianism (!) complete with a stylized triangle shaped pinwheel symbol that implies a swastika. The reader is part of a rogue resistance group, whose over goal is to undermine the neofascist regime but more immediately - to escape (and hence the title.)

My favorite of R.A. Montgomery's CYOA books. I don't want to spoil much, just beware the treacherous Hayden.

This is a great book. Montgomery takes you right up the mountain. You live and die by your decisions. The right ones bring benefits and adventure. The wrong ones . . . well, can lead you into trouble. This is one of my favorite books. The character development is incredible. It's as if the characters are people I grew up with. I definitely recommend it!

Following the same formula as the clever Choose Your Own Adventure series (why can't these books still be on the bookstore shelves?), the Passport series offers exciting Indiana Jones-style adventures, starring yourself, a cameraman, and an investigative journalist.

In Forgotten Days, your team is hired by a prim English woman to track down the missing pages of a forgotten diary written by one of her ancestors. The adventures follow the same thread as all those old-fashioned hero stories, filled with double-crosses, triple crosses, badguys with guns, narrow escapes, girls tied up in the badguy's tent- all those classic adventure elements. It's a perfect book for preteens and possibly even early teens (it's actually even entertaining for adults!)

I love "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" stories, and this largely light-hearted one is great for the younger kids. As to the storyline(s), I offer but one piece of advice: don't take candy from strangers -- especially if they're Furry Turtles! :)
